By Dr. Peter Lindemann

In the late 1880′s, trade journals in the electrical sciences were predicting free electricity and free energy in the near future. Incredible discoveries about the nature of electricity were becoming common place. Nikola Tesla was demonstrating “wireless lighting” and other wonders associated with high frequency currents. There was an excitement about the future like never before.

Within 20 years, there would be automobiles, airplanes, movies, recorded music, telephones, radio, and practical cameras. The Victorian Age was giving way to something totally new. For the first time in history, common people were encouraged to envision a utopian future filled with abundant modern transportation and communication, as well as jobs, housing and food for everyone. Disease would be conquered, and so would poverty. Life was getting better, and this time, everyone was going to get a piece of the pie. So, what happened? In the midst of this technological explosion, where did the energy breakthroughs go? Was all of this excitement about free energy, which happened just before the beginning of the last century, just wishful thinking that “real science” eventually disproved?

Current State of Technology

ctually, the answer to that question is no. In fact, the opposite is true. Spectacular energy technologies were developed right along with the other breakthroughs. Since that time, multiple methods for producing vast amounts of energy at extremely low cost have been developed. None of these technologies have made it to the consumer market as an article of commerce, however. Exactly why this is true will be discussed shortly.

But first, I would like to describe to you a short list of free energy technologies that I am currently aware of, and that are proven beyond all reasonable doubt. The common feature connecting all of these discoveries, is that they use a small amount of one form of energy to control or release a large amount of a different kind of energy. Many of them tap the underlying Æther field in some way; a source of energy conveniently ignored by modern science.

1) Radiant Energy

Nikola Tesla’s magnifying transmitter, T. Henry Moray’s radiant energy device, Edwin Gray’s EMA motor, and Paul Baumann’s Testatika machine all run on radiant energy. This natural energy form can be gathered directly from the environment (mistakenly called “static” electricity) or extracted from ordinary electricity by the method called fractionation. Radiant energy can perform the same wonders as ordinary electricity, at less than 1% of the cost. It does not behave exactly like electricity, however, which has contributed to the scientific community’s misunderstanding of it. The Methernitha Community in Switzerland currently has 5 or 6 working models of fuelless, self-running devices that tap this energy.

2) Permanent Magnets

Dr. Robert Adams (NZ) has developed astounding designs of electric motors, generators and heaters that run on permanent magnets. One such device draws 100 watts of electricity from the source, generates 100 watts to recharge the source, and produces over 140 BTU’s of heat in two minutes! Dr. Tom Bearden (USA) has two working models of a permanent magnet powered electrical transformer. It uses a 6-watt electrical input to control the path of a magnetic field coming out of a permanent magnet. By channeling the magnetic field, first to one output coil and then a second output coil, and by doing this repeatedly and rapidly in a “ping-pong” fashion, the device can produce a 96-watt electrical output with no moving parts. Bearden calls his device a Motionless Electromagnetic Generator, or MEG. Jean-Louis Naudin has duplicated Bearden’s device in France. The principles for this type of device were first disclosed by Frank Richardson (USA) in 1978. Troy Reed (USA) has working models of a special magnetized fan that heats up as it spins. It takes exactly the same amount of energy to spin the fan whether it is generating heat or not. Beyond these developments, multiple inventors have identified working mechanisms that produce motor torque from permanent magnets alone.

3) Mechanical Heaters

There are two classes of machines that transform a small amount of mechanical energy into a large amount of heat. The best of these purely mechanical designs are the rotating cylinder systems designed by Frenette (USA) and Perkins (USA). In these machines, one cylinder is rotated within another cylinder with about an eighth of an inch of clearance between them. The space between the cylinders is filled with a liquid such as water or oil, and it is this “working fluid” that heats up as the inner cylinder spins. Another method uses magnets mounted on a wheel to produce large eddy currents in a plate of aluminum, causing the aluminum to heat up rapidly. These magnetic heaters have been demonstrated by Muller (Canada), Adams (NZ) and Reed (USA). All of these systems can produce ten times more heat than standard methods using the same energy input.

4) Super-Efficient Electrolysis

Water can be broken into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity. Standard chemistry books claim that this process requires more energy than can be recovered when the gases are recombined. This is true only under the worst case scenario. When water is hit with its own molecular resonant frequency, using a system developed by Stan Meyers (USA) and again recently by Xogen Power, Inc., it collapses into hydrogen and oxygen gas with very little electrical input. Also, using different electrolytes (additives that make the water conduct electricity better) changes the efficiency of the process dramatically. It is also known that certain geometric structures and surface textures work better than others do. The implication is that unlimited amounts of hydrogen fuel can be made to drive engines (like in your car) for the cost of water. Even more amazing is the fact that a special metal alloy was patented by Freedman (USA) in 1957 that spontaneously breaks water into hydrogen and oxygen with no outside electrical input and without causing any chemical changes in the metal itself. This means that this special metal alloy can make hydrogen from water for free, forever.

5) Implosion/Vortex

All major industrial engines use the release of heat to cause expansion and pressure to produce work, like in your car engine. Nature uses the opposite process of cooling to cause suction and vacuum to produce work, like in a tornado. Viktor Schauberger (Austria) was the first to build working models of implosion engines in the 1930′s and 1940′s. Since that time, Callum Coats has published extensively on Schauberger’s work in his book Living Energies and subsequently, a number of researchers have built working models of implosion turbine engines. These are fuelless engines that produce mechanical work from energy accessed from a vacuum. There are also much simpler designs that use vortex motions to tap a combination of gravity and centrifugal force to produce a continuous motion in fluids.

6) Cold Fusion

In March 1989, two chemists from the University of Utah (USA) announced that they had produced atomic fusion reactions in a simple tabletop device. The claims were “debunked” within six months and the public lost interest. Nevertheless, cold fusion is very real. Not only has excess heat production been repeatedly documented, but also low energy atomic element transmutation has been catalogued, involving dozens of different reactions! This technology definitely can produce low cost energy and scores of other important industrial processes.

7) Solar Assisted Heat Pumps

The refrigerator in your kitchen is the only free energy machine you currently own. It’s an electrically operated heat pump. It uses one amount of energy (electricity) to move three amounts of energy (heat). This gives it a co-efficient of performance (COP) of about 3. Your refrigerator uses one amount of electricity to pump three amounts of heat from the inside of the refrigerator to the outside of the refrigerator. This is its typical use, but it is the worst possible way to use the technology. Here’s why. A heat pump pumps heat from the source of heat to the “sink” or place that absorbs the heat. The source of heat should obviously be hot and the sink for heat should obviously be cold for this process to work the best. In your refrigerator, it’s exactly the opposite. The source of heat is inside the box, which is cold, and the sink for heat is the room temperature air of your kitchen, which is warmer than the source. This is why the COP remains low for your kitchen refrigerator. But this is not true for all heat pumps. COP’s of 8 to 10 are easily attained with solar assisted heat pumps. In such a device, a heat pump draws heat from a solar collector and dumps the heat into a large underground absorber, which remains at 55° F, and mechanical energy is extracted in the transfer. This process is equivalent to a steam engine that extracts mechanical energy between the boiler and the condenser, except that it uses a fluid that boils at a much lower temperature than water. One such system that was tested in the 1970′s produced 350 hp, measured on a Dynamometer, in a specially designed engine from just 100-sq. ft. of solar collector. (This is not the system promoted by Dennis Lee.) The amount of energy it took to run the compressor (input) was less than 20 hp, so this system produced more than 17 times more energy than it took to keep it going! It could power a small neighborhood from the roof of a hot tub gazebo, using exactly the same technology that keeps the food cold in your kitchen. Currently, there is an industrial scale heat pump system just north of Kona, Hawaii that generates electricity from temperature differences in ocean water.

There are dozens of other systems that I have not mentioned, many of them are as viable and well tested as the ones I have just recounted. But this short list is sufficient to make my point: free energy technology is here, now. It offers the world pollution-free, energy abundance for everyone, everywhere.

It is now possible to stop the production of greenhouse gases and shut down all of the nuclear power plants. We can now desalinate unlimited amounts of seawater at an affordable price, and bring adequate fresh water to even the most remote habitats. Transportation costs and the production costs for just about everything can drop dramatically. Food can even be grown in heated greenhouses in the winter, anywhere. All of these wonderful benefits that can make life on this planet so much easier and better for everyone have been postponed for decades. Why? Whose purposes are served by this postponement?

Four Invisible Forces

There are four gigantic forces that have worked together to create this situation. To say that there is and has been a conspiracy to suppress this technology only leads to a superficial understanding of the world, and it places the blame for this completely outside of ourselves. Our willingness to remain ignorant and actionless in the face of this situation has always been interpreted by two of these forces as implied consent. So, besides a non-demanding public, what are the other forces that are impeding the availability of free energy technology?

In the United States, and in most other countries around the world, there is a money monopoly in place. I am free to earn as much money as I want, but I will only be paid in Federal Reserve Notes. There is nothing I can do to be paid in Gold Certificates, or some other form of money. This money monopoly is solely in the hands of a small number of private stock banks, and these banks are owned by the wealthiest families in the world. Their plan is to eventually control 100% of all of the capital resources of the world, and thereby control everyone’s life through the availability (or non-availability) of all goods and services.

An independent source of wealth (free energy device) in the hands of each and every person in the world, ruins the plans of the wealthiest families for world domination, permanently. Why this is true is easy to see. Currently, a nation’s economy can be either slowed down or sped up by the raising or lowering of interest rates. But if an independent source of capital (energy) were present in the economy, and any business or person could raise more capital without borrowing it from a bank, this centralized throttling action on interest rates would simply not have the same effect.

Free energy technology changes the value of money. The wealthiest families and the issuers of credit do not want any competition. It’s that simple. They want to maintain their current monopoly control of the money supply. For them, free energy technology is not just something to suppress, it must be permanently forbidden!

So, the wealthiest families and their central banking institutions are the first force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology. Their motivations are the imagined divine right to rule, greed, and their insatiable need to control almost everything except themselves. The weapons they have used to enforce this postponement include intimidation, “expert” debunkers, buying and shelving of technology, murder and attempted murder of the inventors, character assassination, arson, and a wide variety of financial incentives and disincentives to manipulate possible supporters. They have also promoted the general acceptance of a scientific theory that states that free energy is impossible (laws of thermodynamics).

The second force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology is national governments. The problem here is not so much related to competition in the printing of currency, but in the maintenance of national security. The fact is, the world out there is a jungle, and humans can be counted upon to be very cruel, dishonest, and sneaky. It is government’s job to provide for the common defense. For this, police powers are delegated by the executive branch of government to enforce “the rule of law.” Most of us who consent to the rule of law do so because we believe it is the right thing to do, for our own benefit. There are always a few individuals, however, that believe that their own benefit is best served by behavior that does not voluntarily conform to the generally agreed upon social order. These people choose to operate outside of the rule of law and are considered outlaws, criminals, subversives, traitors, revolutionaries, or terrorists.

Most national governments have discovered, by trial and error, that the only foreign policy that really works, over time, is a policy called “tit for tat.” What this means to you and me is, that governments treat each other the way they are being treated. There is a constant jockeying for position and influence in world affairs, and the strongest party wins! In economics, it’s the Golden Rule, which states: “The one with the gold makes the rules.”

So it is with politics also, but its appearance is more Darwinian. It’s simply survival of the fittest. In politics, however, the fittest has come to mean the strongest party who is also willing to fight the dirtiest. Absolutely every means available is used to maintain an advantage over the adversary, and everyone else is the adversary regardless of whether they are considered friend or foe. This includes outrageous psychological posturing, lying, cheating, spying, stealing, assassination of world leaders, proxy wars, alliances and shifting alliances, treaties, foreign aid, and the presence of military forces wherever possible.

Like it or not, this is the psychological and actual arena national governments operate in. No national government will do anything that simply gives an adversary an advantage for free. It’s national suicide. An activity by any individual, inside or outside the country, that is interpreted as giving an adversary an edge or advantage will be deemed a threat to “national security.”

Free energy technology is a national government’s worst nightmare! Openly acknowledged, free energy technology sparks an unlimited arms race by all governments in a final attempt to gain absolute advantage and domination. Think about it. Do you think Japan will not feel intimidated if China gets free energy? Do you think Israel will sit by quietly as Iraq acquires free energy? Do you think India will allow Pakistan to develop free energy? Do you think the USA would not try to stop Osama bin Laden from getting free energy?

Unlimited energy available to the current state of affairs on this planet leads to an inevitable reshuffling of the balance of power. This could become an all-out war to prevent “the other” from having the advantage of unlimited wealth and power. Everybody will want it, and at the same time, want to prevent everyone else from getting it.

So, national governments are the second force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology. Their motivations are “self-preservation.” This self-preservation operates on three levels. First, by not giving undue advantage to an external enemy. Second, by preventing individualized action capable of effectively challenging official police powers (anarchy) within the country. And third, by preserving income streams derived from taxing energy sources currently in use. Their weapons include the preventing of the issuance of patents based on national security grounds, the legal and illegal harassment of inventors with criminal charges, tax audits, threats, phone taps, arrest, arson, theft of property during shipment, and a host of other intimidations which make the business of building and marketing a free energy machine practically impossible.

The third force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology consists of the group of deluded inventors and out right charlatans and con men. On the periphery of the extraordinary scientific breakthroughs that constitute the real free energy technologies, lies a shadow world of unexplained anomalies, marginal inventions and unscrupulous promoters. The first two forces have constantly used the media to promote the worst examples of this group, to distract the public’s attention and to discredit the real breakthroughs by associating them with the obvious frauds.

Over the last hundred years, dozens of stories have surfaced about unusual inventions. Some of these ideas have so captivated the public’s imagination that a mythology about these systems continues to this day. Names like Keely, Hubbard, Coler, and Henderschott immediately come to mind. There may be real technologies behind these names, but there simply isn’t enough technical data available in the public domain to make a determination. These names remain associated with a free energy mythology, however, and are sited by debunkers as examples of fraud.

The idea of free energy taps very deeply into the human subconscious mind. A few inventors with marginal technologies that demonstrate useful anomalies have mistakenly exaggerated the importance of their inventions. Some of these inventors also have mistakenly exaggerated the importance of themselves for having invented it. A combination of “gold fever” and/or a messiah complex appears, wholly distorting any future contribution they may make.

While the research thread they are following may hold great promise, these deluded inventors begin to trade enthusiasm for facts, and the value of the scientific work from that point on suffers greatly. There is a powerful, yet subtle seduction that can warp a personality if they believe that the world rests on their shoulders or that they are the world’s savior. Strange things also happen to people when they think they are about to become extremely rich. It takes a tremendous spiritual discipline to remain objective and humble in the presence of a working free energy machine.

Many inventors’ psyches become unstable just believing they have a free energy machine. As the quality of the science deteriorates, some inventors also develop a persecution complex that makes them very defensive and unapproachable. This process precludes them from ever really developing a free energy machine, and fuels the fraud mythologies tremendously.

Then there are the out right con men. In the last 15 years, there is one person in the USA who has raised the free energy con to a professional art. He has raised more than $100,000,000, has been barred from doing business in the state of Washington, has been jailed in California, and he’s still at it. He always talks about a variation of one of the real free energy systems, sells people on the idea that they will get one of these systems soon, but ultimately sells them only promotional information which gives no real data about the energy system itself. He has mercilessly preyed upon the Christian community and the patriot community in the USA, and is still going strong.

This man’s current scam involves signing up hundreds of thousands of people as locations where he will install a free energy machine. In exchange for letting him put the free energy generator in their home, they will get free electricity for life, and his company will sell the excess energy back to the local utility company. After becoming convinced that they will receive free electricity for life, with no out-front expenses, they gladly buy a video that helps draw their friends into the scam as well. Once you understand the power and motivations of the first two forces I have discussed, its obvious that this person’s current business plan cannot be implemented. This one person has probably done more harm to the free energy movement in the USA than any other force, by destroying people’s trust in the technology.

So, the third force postponing the public availability of free energy technology is delusion and dishonesty within the movement itself. The motivations are self-aggrandizement, greed, want of power over others, and a false sense of self-importance. The weapons used are lying, cheating, the “bait and switch” con, self-delusion and arrogance combined with lousy science.

The fourth force operating to postpone the public availability of free energy technology is all of the rest of us. It may be easy to see how narrow and selfish the motivations of the other forces are, but actually, these motivations are still very much alive in each of us as well. Like the Wealthiest Families, don’t we each secretly harbor illusions of false superiority, and the want to control others instead of ourselves? Also, wouldn’t you “sell out” if the price were high enough, say, take a billion dollars, cash, today? Or like the governments, don’t we each want to ensure our own survival? If caught in the middle of a full, burning theater, do you panic and push all of the weaker people out of the way in a mad, scramble for the door? Or like the deluded inventor, don’t we trade a comfortable illusion once in a while for an uncomfortable fact? And don’t we like to think more of ourselves than others give us credit for? Or don’t we still fear the unknown, even if it promises a great reward?

You see, really, all four forces are just different aspects of the same process, operating at different levels in the society. There is really only one force preventing the public availability of free energy technology, and that is the unspiritually motivated behavior of the humans. In the last analysis, free energy technology is an outward manifestation of divine abundance. It is the engine of the economy of an enlightened society, where people voluntarily behave in a respectful and civil manner toward each other, where each member of the society has everything they need, and does not covet what their neighbor has, where war and physical violence has become socially unacceptable behavior and people’s differences are at least tolerated, if not enjoyed.

The appearance of free energy technology in the public domain is the dawning of a truly civilized age. It is an epochal event in human history. Nobody can take credit for it. Nobody can get rich on it. Nobody can rule the world with it. It is simply, a gift from God. It forces us all to take responsibility for our own actions and for our own self-disciplined self-restraint when needed. The world as it is currently ordered, cannot have free energy technology without being totally transformed by it into something else. This civilization has reached the pinnacle of its development, because it has birthed the seeds of its own transformation. Unspiritualized humans cannot be trusted with free energy. They will only do what they have always done, which is take merciless advantage of each other, or kill each other and themselves in the process.

If you go back and read Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged or the Club of Rome Report, it becomes obvious that the wealthiest families have understood this for decades. Their plan is to live in the world of free energy, but permanently freeze the rest of us out. But this is not new. Royalty has always considered the general population (us) to be their subjects. What is new, is that you and I can communicate with each other now better than at anytime in the past. The Internet offers us, the fourth force, an opportunity to overcome the combined efforts of the other forces preventing free energy technology from spreading.

The Opportunity

What is starting to happen is that inventors are publishing their work, instead of patenting it and keeping it secret. More and more, people are giving away information on these technologies in books, videos and websites. While there is still a great deal of useless information about free energy on the Internet, the availability of good information is rising rapidly. Check out the list of websites and other resources at the end of this article.

It is imperative that you begin to gather all of the information you can on real free energy systems. The reason for this is simple. The first two forces will never allow an inventor or a company to build and sell a free energy machine to you! The only way you will ever get one is if you, or a friend, build it yourself. This is exactly what thousands of people are already quietly starting to do. You may feel wholly inadequate to the task, but start gathering information now. You may be just a link in the chain of events for the benefit of others. Focus on what you can do now, not on how much there still is to be done. Small, private research groups are working out the details as you read this. Many are committed to publishing their results on the Internet.

All of us constitute the fourth force. If we stand up and refuse to remain ignorant and actionless, we can change the course of history. It is the aggregate of our combined action that can make a difference. Only the mass action that represents our consensus can create the world we want. The other three forces will not help us put a fuelless power plant in our basements. They will not help us be free from their manipulations. Nevertheless, free energy technology is here. It is real, and it will change everything about the way we live, work and relate to each other. In the last analysis, free energy technology obsoletes greed and the fear for survival. But like all exercises of spiritual faith, we must first manifest the generosity and trust in our own lives.

The source of free energy is inside of us. It is that excitement of expressing ourselves freely. It is our spiritually guided intuition expressing itself without distraction, intimidation or manipulation. It is our open-heartedness. Ideally, the free energy technologies underpin a just society where everyone has enough food, clothing, shelter, self-worth, and the leisure time to contemplate the higher spiritual meanings of life. Do we not owe it to each other to face down our fears and take action to create this future for our children’s children?

Free energy technology is here. It has been here for decades. Communications technology and the Internet have torn the veil of secrecy off of this remarkable fact. People all over the world are starting to build free energy devices for their own use. The bankers and the governments do not want this to happen, but cannot stop it. There will be essentially no major media coverage of what is going on. Tremendous economic instabilities and wars will be used in the near future to distract people from joining the free energy movement.

Western society is in many ways spiraling down toward self-destruction due to the accumulated effects of long-term greed and corruption. The general availability of free energy technology cannot stop this trend. It can only reinforce it. If, however, you have a free energy device, you may be better positioned to support the political/social/economic transition that is underway. The question is, who will ultimately control the emerging world government-the first force or the fourth force?

The last great war is almost upon us. The seeds are planted. After this will come the beginning of a real civilization. Some of us who refuse to fight in this war will survive to see the dawn of the world of free energy. I challenge you to be among the ones who try.

Kids Build Soybean-Fueled Car February 17, 2006, CBS News http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/02/17/eveningnews/main1329941.shtml

The star at last week’s Philadelphia Auto Show wasn’t a sports car or an economy car. It was a sports-economy car-one that combines performance and practicality under one hood. The car that buyers have been waiting decades [for] comes from an unexpected source and runs on soybean bio-diesel fuel to boot. A car that can go from zero to 60 in four seconds and get more than 50 miles to the gallon would be enough to pique any driver’s interest. So who do we have to thank for it. Ford? GM? Toyota? No-just…five kids from the auto shop program at West Philadelphia High School.

Iceland the First Country to Try Abandoning Gasoline January 18, 2006, ABC News http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=1518556

Iceland has already started…turning water into fuel – hydrogen fuel. Here’s how it works: Electrodes split the water into hydrogen and oxygen molecules. Hydrogen electrons pass through a conductor that creates the current to power an electric engine. Hydrogen fuel now costs two to three times as much as gasoline, but gets up to three times the mileage of gas, making the overall cost about the same. As an added benefit, there are no carbon emissions – only water vapor.

Fuel’s paradise? Power source that turns physics on its head November 4, 2005, The Guardian (one of the UK’s leading newspapers) http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/story/0,3605,1627424,00.html

It seems too good to be true: a new source of near-limitless power that costs virtually nothing, uses tiny amounts of water as its fuel and produces next to no waste. Randell Mills, a Harvard University medic who also studied electrical engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, claims to have built a prototype power source that generates up to 1,000 times more heat than conventional fuel. “We’ve got 50 independent validation reports, we’ve got 65 peer-reviewed journal articles,” he said. “We ran into this theoretical resistance and there are some vested interests here.

Magnetic energy? Perhaps, September 7, 2005, San Francisco Chronicle

“All we know is that we’re seeing more energy output than input. Does Goldes realize what’s he’s saying — that he’s perhaps discovered a clean, inexhaustible energy source? “That’s exactly what it appears to be,” he answered. A handful of other companies worldwide are believed also to be pursuing zero-point energy via magnetic systems. One of them…is run by a former scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. According to Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine, the Pentagon and at least two large aerospace companies are actively researching zero-point energy as a means of propulsion.

The ten-day solar car race from Austin to Calgary came to a successful finish yesterday. U of Michigan takes prize, finishing the 2500-mile course in 54 hours. They also set a record by averaging 46.2 mph in this, the world’s longest solar car race.
Eco-car more efficient than light bulb July 5, 2005, CNN

The hydrogen-powered Ech2o needs just 25 Watts — the equivalent of less than two gallons of petrol — to complete the 25,000-mile global trip, while emitting nothing more hazardous than water. But with a top speed of 30mph, the journey would take more than a month to complete. Ech2o, built by British gas firm BOC, will bid to smash the world fuel efficiency record of over 10,000 miles per gallon at the Shell Eco Marathon. The record is currently….5,385 km/per liter [over 12,000 mpg!].

GM agrees that the car in question, called the EV1, was a rousing feat of engineering that could go from zero to 60 miles per hour in under eight seconds with no harmful emissions. The market just wasn’t big enough, the company says, for a car that traveled 140 miles or less on a charge before you had to plug it in like a toaster. The Toyota Eco Spirit was the talk of the fuel economy car industry in 2002. At over 100 MPG and with the lowest exhaust emissions and a very reasonable sticker price, the Eco Spirit’s debut was widely anticipated. (see London Times article). And when it comes to energy, most of the world still depends largely on huge, polluting coal and oil generation plants not much more efficient than those of 100 years ago. How can it be that we’ve had such dramatic, almost miraculous advances in so many fields, while the energy and transportation sectors have made so little progress? Could it be that greed and the desire for economic and political control by the power elite of the world have kept the profit-rich energy and transportation sectors from developing as rapidly as they might have in a more open climate, where big money and political clout did not suppress technological breakthroughs?

Genius inventors for the past 100 years have made remarkable discoveries of new, more efficient energy sources, only to find their inventions either suppressed or not given the attention and funding needed to break us free of our dependence on archaic coal and oil-based technologies. ConsiderNikola Tesla, the genius inventor of AC current, fluorescent light, and laser beams, who has over 700 patents to his name. Tesla proved in 1900 that the Earth itself could be used as a very cheap conductor of electricity. He successfully lighted 200 lamps without wires from a distance of 25 miles.

Why wasn’t Tesla’s wireless electricity developed and spread around the world? His main financial supporter, banking tycoon J.P. Morgan, withdrew funding with the classic comment, “If anyone can draw on the power, where do we put the meter?” For more on Tesla and his amazing inventions, see PBS’s voluminous tribute available here, or the Tesla Society website. A Google search will turn up lots more.Hundreds of other inventions and inventors (including a personal friend of mine) have suffered a similar or worse fate.

Below are short excerpts from a number of major media articles which suggest major suppression of technological advances in the fields of energy and transportation. For an excellent two-page summary of this vital topic, click here. You can also find a wealth of reliable, verifiable information at our New Energy Information Center. By educating ourselves and our friends and colleagues on this crucial topic, we can build a critical mass of informed citizens who demand the release of suppressed inventions and technologies that will pave the way for a brighter, healthier future for us, for our children, and for our beautiful planet. Thanks for caring.

Iran announces long range missile test amid Strait of Hormuz row with U S

12/30/2011

DPA
December 30, 2011

http://www.haaretz.com/news/middle-east/iran-announces-long-range-missile-test-amid-strait-of-hormuz-row-with-u-s-1.404591

Amid a verbal row with the United States over blocking the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil shipping route, Iran proclaimed on Friday that it will start testing long range missiles in the Persian Gulf.

“On Saturday morning the Iranian navy will test several of its long-range missiles in the Persian Gulf,” navy deputy commander Admiral Mahmoud Moussavi told Fars news agency.

The testing of the missiles is part of ongoing navy maneuvers in the Persian Gulf and, according to Moussavi, the main and final phase is preparing the navy for confronting the enemy in a warlike situation.

The maneuver has been overshadowed by a verbal row between Iran and the US over an Iranian threat to close the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf, through which 40 per cent of the world’s ship-borne crude is passed.

The spark for the row was a Tuesday remark by Iranian Vice President Mohammd-Reza Rahimi that, “if Western countries sanctioned Iranian oil, then Iran would not allow one drop of oil to cross the Strait of Hormuz.”

Following his remarks, Iranian navy commander Admiral Habibollah Sayari said, although there was currently no necessity for Iran to close the strait, “it would be as easy as drinking a glass of water.”

After the U.S. Navy said it would not accept any Iranian disruption of the free flow of goods through Hormuz, Iran continued the war of words with Revolutionary Guard deputy chief Hossein Salami saying that the U.S. was in no position to tell Iran what to do.

Salami also called the U.S. “an iceberg which is to be melted by the high degree of the Iranian revolution,” and “a sparrow in the body of a dinosaur.”

Neither President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad nor the ministries of defense and foreign affairs have so far commented on the issue.

The only official comments on the matter came last week, before the exchange of words, from Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast, who said that closing the Hormuz has never been on Iran’s agenda.

However, he added: “if the region would face a warlike situation, then everything would then become warlike.”

Foreigners Dumping US Treasurys in Record Numbers

12/30/2011

Friday, 30 Dec 2011 08:43 AM

By Forrest Jones

Foreign investors are selling Treasury positions in record numbers, even at a time when such assets are performing well.

In the week ended Dec. 28, foreign investors sold the second-highest amount of U.S. bonds in history at $23 billion, Zero Hedge reports, citing Federal Reserve data.

In the last month alone, foreigners sold a record $69 billion in U.S. paper. The numbers really defy logic.

“The euro plunges and the market refuses to follow, with risk assets rising on speculation the ECB (and/or Fed) are about to restart printing yet gold collapsing … and finally with Treasurys soaring to near all time highs,” Zero Hedge reports.

One widely watched investor suggests riskier assets likes stocks are looking better than bonds and Treasury bills.

“The best idea for 2012 is for investors to increase their equity exposure and decrease their bond exposure,” Oakmark Fund portfolio manager Bill Nygren tells CNBC.

Many stocks are attractively priced, especially equities in big companies sitting on lots of cash.

“We think stocks are cheap. We thought that a year ago,” Nygren adds.

“Businesses have performed well this year. They are earning more money, they have less shares outstanding, there’s more cash on the balance sheets and bonds mathematically — even if rates went to zero — can’t have the same kinds of returns they have enjoyed the past year or two.”

“We think investors are making a mistake to chase performance and pull money out of equities today and put it into bonds.”

Potential, Probability, and Outcome

12/30/2011

http://www.halfpasthuman.com/destiny.html

In forecasting events at any level from long term trends analysis to the extreme short term forecasting such as gambling, there are three distinct states involved. These are potential, probability, and outcome.

As with all other aspects of forecasting, if you alter the environment to affect one of the three, you can instantly constrain the others. As an example, if one stands before an empty pool table with a pool ball held in your hand there is, at the time of the holding in the hand, neither potential, nor probability that the pool ball will end up in any of the holes on the table. But the moment, actually fractional part of a moment that your will changes your mind and there is active intent, then instantly potential manifests, as does probability. At the point that you have intent, you have created potential, probability, and outcome, even though the latter two are still dithering about in a state of indeterministic dancing until the potential becomes manifest probability by your release of the pool ball from your hand. Note that there are all kinds of probability that exist at that point, and indeed for the deep thinker probability, and even outcome are predetermined, but without going that far down, we need to remember that it is even within probability, once the ball is released, that it would not reach the table, let alone fall into any particular hole.

Of course, things can be done to alter potential, and thus probability, towards reducing certain outcomes. Sometimes this is cheating, such as in pool when the table itself may be tilted a certain way in a slight degree to favor one side or end over the other. In this way, the potential for the ball to ‘naturally’ roll into the affected areas is controlled, and so, practically, is the probability, and thus even the outcome is constrained. This, by the way, is exactly how the small number of nasty bastard reds and blues control the rest of humanity, by tilting the environment over time. By cheating.

So this is the point at which we find ourselves, stuck between our as yet not manifest will and the doom included in the spread of outcomes. We know that several of potentials at this time include warfare in many forms all leading to the probable outcome of mega deaths on a scale never before achieved (since we humans get better at sheeit over time, war included). It is, as of this writing in the last days of December 2011, still within both potential, and probability. How much of a probability would bring it down to numbers which is speculation that needlessly invokes monkey mind.

To my thinking, a far better way to perceive this moment, is that the entrenched powers, thinking themselves elites, are working to tilt the table to cheat most of humanity of their lives. The entrenched elite are desperately working to create environmental conditions that will spark the next, and last (for our species) global war.

Our data shows a distinct transition point from March 2 through 9 inclusive. Thereafter we shift into release language. Permanently, or as close to that state as may be forecast from this point in time. It makes sense to consider, from the perspective of this moment in the waning days of December 2011, just which things in our environment we can change at this moment, to help tilt the table back away from the death spiral for our species.

The real reason to bring up the whole ‘time stream’ concept of potential, probability, and outcome, is that most will overlook the idea that, even within the example cited, we are not constrained, here in the matterium, in how we alter outcome. The bad guys ‘cheat’ by trickery, and illusion, and hidden table rigging.

We, the regular humans seeking our paths in life, can do so, that is ‘cheat against war’ by creating novel forms of potential. We can start ahead of the chain in that sense by circulating new ways of thinking that in turn will create new potential that in turn creates new probability ahead of the war to kill almost all humans that the entrenched powers are so desperately trying to drive into our immediate future. In ways we could not ourselves envision, though we can certainly see the ‘potential’ in so doing, each time we create a new potential, multiple new probabilities are also created. These then lead to yet new outcomes….some of which will not involve the last humans alive stumbling out their final minutes in confusion on the corpses of their families.

Reducing the great taoist master Lu to ‘now speak’…..”if you add value to universe, universe will reward it by creating more potential in your life to add yet more value. In this way, terrestrial beings may manifest personal power”.

In the study of power, there are none so astute nor succinct as martial artists who have frequently observed, “be in harmony with universe, and though you may be killed, you cannot be defeated.”

To those who ‘read signs and portents’, the time is now. There is no more time after March to alter your future as it will be upon you. If you are going to do anything, now is all you have.

Your destiny arrives in March. How shall you greet it? By hiding in fear holes, or by manifesting new potential, probability and outcome?

The choice is, always, yours.

Following the money backwards leads to President Reagan, Russian rubles, and Ambassador Leo Wanta

12/29/2011

From the January 2007 Idaho Observer:

Ambassador Leo Wanta is the lawful “principle” and “trustor” of funds stashed in accounts all over the world.

Editor’s note: The story of how Ambassador Leo Wanta was commissioned by President Reagan to make $trillions for the American people in shrewd (but legal) currency trading that concentrated on buying Russian rubles at a discount to destabilize the Soviet economy surfaced in 1992. The Wanta story was recently revived on the Investigative Journal by Greg Syzmanski through interviews with Ambassador Wanta broadcast on the Republic Broadcast Network. As it turns out, British financial news publisher Christopher Story has published the documents in evidence giving credence to what is arguably the most important story in recent memory. As you will see, several poorly-reported incidents during the 90s helped to bury the Wanta story as a tall-tale. As events unfold and independent researchers put the pieces together, Ambassador Wanta is emerging as a real man whose activities produced $trillions that are stashed away in real banks and invested in real properties. If this story is true—and the evidence is becoming unavoidably compelling—then it will not be long before all the world will know.

By Don Nicoloff

While many Americans argue about a variety of current scandals in federal, state, and local governments throughout the United States, the media has remained suspiciously silent about them. Contrary to the myriad of facts and evidence of government complicity or wrongdoing that independent investigators have been steadily uncovering in their analyses of the “attacks” on the World Trade Center; the “bombing” of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City; the sieges at Waco and Ruby Ridge; the facts behind the shoot-out at the Rayburn Senate Office Building/parking garage in May, 2006; the virtual security collapse and mass invasion by illegal aliens along U.S. Borders; the spraying of our skies, crops, and water resources with chem.-trails; the numerous bank, investment, securities frauds and sex scandals among members of the Congress, the Senate and the Roman Catholic Church; the secret formation of a “North American Union” and its NAFTA “Super Highway”; the ill-conceived “War on Terror” and the phony “War on Drugs,” the mainstream media has been complicit in conspiracies of silence.

In fact, the media has aided and abetted our “elected” lawbreakers in these cover-ups by endlessly spewing the “talking points” designed to create dissent, confusion and to ridicule or discredit those who demonstrate courage while exposing these despicable and treasonous acts.

Never before in our history has the erosion of Constitutional rights and civil liberties been occurring at such an accelerated pace. There is no denying that the age of Big Brother is now upon us, but those who are naive enough to believe the propaganda they are being spoon-fed on a daily basis are in complete denial that ours is no longer the land of the free. The mind control programs to maintain the illusion of freedom in the mass American mind have been in place for many years and are being tested and modified as needed.

For those who would argue that the media is “fair and balanced,” one need only to perform a Google search on the Internet to learn that “Operation Mockingbird” was the government’s official declaration that the mainstream media will be controlled — at any cost. The $64,000 question is: “Exactly how much money will it take to control the mainstream media?” The answer: “Lots — billions, at the very least.”

Enter Leo Wanta

Beginning in the early-1980s, President Ronald Reagan and a small group of his closest advisors initiated a plan to destabilize the Russian ruble. Reagan recruited his most-trusted intelligence agent Leo Emil Wanta to perform this delicate task. Wanta had served the U.S. intelligence community as a Treasury agent, in arms dealing and in other “sensitive” matters. He was chosen for this mission, not only for his loyalty to the president, but also for his unfailing honesty. In addition to his responsibilities in carrying out this covert financial coup against the former Soviet Union, Wanta was also instrumental in thwarting an attempted assassination of President Reagan “in the White House”—yet another event that went unreported by the media.

The presidency of Ronald Reagan was tumultuous, to say the least. Reagan’s administration survived several scandals and he, personally, survived several assassination attempts. Only one of these attempts, the shooting by John W. Hinkley, Jr., would be made public. That shooting was captured live on television and posed a particular problem for the media—there would be no video coverup of the events. Even the shooting of White House Press Secretary Jim Brady was broadcast, along with the apprehension of Hinkley.

In hindsight, a closer look at the 1981 attempted assassination of President Reagan smacks of a conspiracy. Not of Jodie Foster, but of a Montauk-style event. Was it possible that “those in the know” had other plans for our president? The jury who heard Hinkley’s case determined he was “not guilty by reason of insanity.” It is quite plausible that Hinkley was a mind-control experiment, a la MK-Ultra. After all, how does one associate the love of a teen actress with the assassination of a U.S. president? Only those familiar with the Montauk experiments would suspect such an association would be the result of mind control programming.

What remained a part of the official media coverup of this failed assassination were numerous pertinent facts. Hinkley’s father, John, Sr. was a former oil-business associate and golfing buddy of George H.W. Bush. Bush was suspiciously absent during the event and, according to accounts of various White House staffers, was resentful of Alexander Haig’s “I’m in control” proclamations. The evening of the assassination attempt, John Hinkley’s brother and his wife were “dinner guests” at the home of the Vice-President’s son, Neil Bush, of Silverado Savings and Loan fame. Coincidence?

President Reagan’s administration began auspiciously with the release of the 63 embassy hostages being held in Iran, an event which was orchestrated to embarrass a sitting president, Jimmy Carter, thus assuring a Republican march to the White House. The failed “secret rescue attempt” which resulted in crashed military helicopters in the desert before the event was successfully launched, may have been orchestrated as well.

In November, 1986, President Reagan admitted to Americans that arms were sold to Iran in the summer of 1985, but he insisted there was no relation to the above-mentioned hostage release. Israel played a part in no fewer than three deliveries of tube-launched, optically-tracked, wire command link-guided (TOW) missiles to Iran, which subsequently resulted in the release of another hostage, Benjamin Weir. Without the release of some 29 other hostages, Israel withdrew from its original agreement with the U.S. and Iran. The U.S. implemented a second strategy, an operation headed by Lt. Col. Oliver North, to sell the arms directly to Iran—with a considerable markup—and then send the profits to Nicaragua, to covertly fund the Contra rebels who were fighting the communist Sandanistas in power.

It was also assumed that the CIA was involved in drug trafficking as part of the Iran-Contra affair, and many have since come forward to confirm those suspicions. Much has already been written by others about the validity of the War on Drugs. As we would soon come to find out, this was the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

PROMIS

In 1982, Inslaw, a Washington, D.C., computer software manufacturer, developed a program called “PROMIS.” The program was to be used by the U.S. Justice Department to track cases across the country and would be useful in organizing the department’s case files. One feature of PROMIS was its command-line structure, which permitted some 700,000 instructions. Although the program was designed to be used by the bankruptcy courts, it found its way into the NSA, the DIA, the CIA, the FBI, and Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Coincidentally, Inslaw sued for payment of the software which was stolen and then pirated. Inslaw sued the Justice Department and won a $6.8 million judgment, a verdict that remains in dispute.

When it was discovered that PROMIS could be used to track military movements and other sensitive data, the software fell into the hands of the Israeli intelligence community and the government of Iraq as well. This could explain the ban on of the sale of PC-486 processor technology to Iraq during the first Gulf War.

According to an article in The American Free Press by Mike Blair, “A Terrorist, the CIA, ‘Blue Death’ and the Inslaw Case”, in 1986 a clandestine meeting took place at the Hilton Hotel in Sherman Oaks, California. Present were several key figures: Ted Gunderson, former Supervisory Special Agent for the Los Angeles District of the FBI; Ralph Olberg, a “prominent, American businessman who worked at the Afghan desk of the State Department”; Michael Riconosciuto, “then a long-time weapons and explosives expert linked to the CIA” and “the Inslaw case” and “Tim Osman,” the alias assigned to Osama bin Laden “without his beard,” according to Orlin Grabbe, the newsman who first reported the story.

At the Hilton meeting, discussions centered on “the supply of U.S. Stinger II missiles and modified Red Chinese 107 mm rockets obtained through Olberg’s Norinco contacts in China,” to be used by Afghan rebels against Soviet helicopters and other aircraft. Reports were to then be forwarded to the CIA as to the missiles’ effectiveness against the Soviet aircraft.

It was known that the computer software had also “fallen into the hands of the Israeli Mossad.” The article described how the software had been used as a “backdoor entry” into intelligence computers. This meeting was also a precursor to the events of 9/11, indicating the existence of covert relationships between so-called “terrorist organizations” and the U.S. government prior to Sept. 11, 2001.

Stirring the pot, thickening the plot

Enter Leo Emil Wanta, Ambassador from Somalia to Switzerland and Canada. With an initial investment of $150 billion, borrowed from the U.S. Treasury and, thus, the American people, Wanta purchased rubles from contacts in the Netherlands. According to Wanta, the ruble was valued at $1.20 on the international currency market at the time. By purchasing rubles in above-normal quantities, his company, AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc., of Vienna, Austria and other locations, was able to acquire them far below the standard exchange rates. To boot, his company was trading with U.S. dollars and other currencies.

During several live radio interviews on Greg Szymanski’s “Investigative Journal” radio program in early 2006 on the Republic Broadcasting Network, Wanta described purchasing rubles at various prices ranging “from 18 to 23 cents on the dollar.” AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc., would then resell the rubles at higher rates to other investors in the financial markets. Dollars were converted into rubles, rubles into yen (or other currencies) and the process would be repeated, over and over again, until the Soviet banks could no longer bear the pressure of cashing in their own currency. According to Ambassador Wanta, “the accounts were distributed throughout secret offshore accounts and had doubled in value every two years.”

It should be emphasized that the plan Ambassador Wanta designed was perfectly legal. The same strategy is employed everyday by investors throughout the world. Wanta’s plan differed though, in that his goal, at the bequest of President Reagan, was to cause a financial collapse of the Soviet Union. His repeated purchase of “discounted rubles” enabled him to profit with an advantage not available to others in the financial markets – but was and is still legal. The plan was carried out under Executive Order 12333 (EO 12333, UNITED STATES FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITIES is a comprehensive executive order, easily found on the Internet, that was signed by President Reagan on December 4, 1981.)

Bush fingers the Wanta cookie jar

Eventually, Wanta’s AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc., along with his other corporations, amassed a sum worth $27.5 trillion. Wanta emphasized that the initial $150 billion startup capital was repaid to the U.S. Treasury and that he intended for the profits to be returned to the American people, according to President Reagan’s orders. While in Hong Kong, Wanta and his Chinese business partner, Howe Kwong Kok, were approached by then President George H. W. Bush. According to Wanta, Bush, Sr., had demanded access to the funds that Wanta had accumulated. Wanta and his partner refused, citing that the funds “belonged to the U.S. Treasury and the American people.” Wanta’s partner died of poisoning 10 days after this visit. Bush, former Director of the CIA and a former U.S. Ambassador to China, obviously maintained powerful connections there.

Unbeknownst to Ambassador Wanta, while he was in Switzerland, a plot was unfolding to circumvent his total authority, by presidential order, to safeguard and invest the $27.5 trillion fund he had accumulated through a series of financial maneuvers. The international financial community was well aware of the coup that had taken place, yet not a word had been reported by the worldwide mainstream media. A new president, William Jefferson Clinton, had taken office in 1992 and would soon learn about the financial coup and the efforts of his predecessor, George Herbert Walker Bush, to illegally divert the funds to offshore accounts for personal use.

Clinton fingers the Wanta cookie jar

Prior to Clinton’s arrival in Washington, D. C., it was no small secret that there were an unusually large number of people “in the know” who suddenly died of suspicious circumstances. Personal bodyguards, security personnel and even financial associates who had prior careers in the military or in law enforcement and had since worked for Clinton when he was the governor of Arkansas, had “car accidents” and committed “suicide” in ever-increasing numbers. These people knew too much about the drug deals and financial dealings at the Rose Law Firm where Hillary Clinton was a partner. Even two young boys who witnessed the Mena, Arkansas, drug shipments arriving by train were murdered, in order to protect these dark secrets. The dark secrets followed the Clintons to Washington, D.C.

Shortly after Bill Clinton took over the presidency in 1993, questions were raised by The New York Times about the Whitewater Development and Madison Guaranty loan scandals. The Clintons had invested in the project (at a “loss”) and it was learned that the bank had used its influence to hand out political loans amounting to $3 million with deposits of only $300,000. This procedure is practiced by virtually every bank that loans money under the “authority” of the Federal Reserve System. Banks were permitted to loan up to 10 times their actual cash deposits, a practice approved by the Federal Reserve.

Note: Coincidentally, it is this “regulation” that makes it possible to “create money out of thin air.” No actual exchange of money occurs between the Federal Reserve and the lending bank, though the loan transaction is recorded on paper as if there had been such an exchange. One can assume that the Fed receives its “cut” from the interest-bearing portion of the loan, as well as the principal portion, 90 percent, which has been financed from funds that actually never existed. Today, the “required” cash on hand is reported to be closer to two percent.

The Federal Reserve, a private corporation and not an actual government agency, ultimately receives interest on such loans—interest that is funneled into offshore accounts which provide profits for private, foreign banks. When loan payments are in default or dire straits, the banks “repossess” the physical property, whether real estate, a building, house, business development, or any motor vehicle that has been financed through this illusory system. This confiscated property is resold, often at a discount, because the banks and the Fed are willing to “lose” any portion of the 90 percent which has been financed only on paper and not by any tangible means. The process is merely repeated again by the “new owner,” until the banks determine that all loans have been “satisfied.” The loan schemes devised under the authority of the Federal Reserve account for the false, inflationary valuation of real estate and the rapid depreciation of motor vehicles, are just two examples of our illusory economy. One can assume that all credit agencies operate under the same system.

The New York Times story had precipitated an investigation into Whitewater by the U.S. Justice Department—the same U.S. Justice Department which was complicit in the theft and piracy of the previously-referenced PROMIS software program created by Inslaw: The same U.S. Justice Department that had failed to pay a $6.8 million judgment in damages to Inslaw was now going to investigate a law firm, a bank that illegally loaned money to politicians, a real estate entity that was a “shell” corporation created by attorneys and a former governor of Arkansas who had become president of the United States.

To thicken the plot, former White House Deputy Counsel, Vince Foster submitted several delinquent tax returns for the Whitewater Development project in June, 1993. In July, 1993, Foster “committed suicide” in Fort Marcy Park in Virginia—so the “official” story goes. After a conflict of interest was determined in the appointment of Robert B. Fiske by Attorney General Janet Reno, Kenneth Starr was appointed by a panel of three judges to head the Whitewater investigation in 1994. There was even an investigation into the murder of Vince Foster, who had worked with the Rose Law Firm alongside Hillary Clinton. Although several improprieties by the Clintons were discovered, Foster’s (timely, untimely?) death was ruled a suicide and only James and Susan McDougal received jail time. James McDougal eventually succumbed to a “heart attack” while serving his prison sentence.

Contrary to the findings of the Starr investigation, one of Kenneth Starr’s lead investigators, Miguel Rodriguez, claimed there was a coverup of the forensic evidence discovered in the Foster murder. According to Rodriguez, evidence at the crime scene did not match the evidence contained in the “official report.” Rodriguez is recorded on tape describing details of the coverup and his frustration with a corrupt legal system. At the conclusion of the Whitewater investigation, Rodriguez was “demoted” to a state job in California. Mr. Rodriguez, through the miracles of modern medicine, has recently become Miss Michelle Rodriguez.

Aside from the business association between Hillary Clinton and Vince Foster, there were numerous references to a romantic relationship—an extramarital affair. Reports from Secret Service agents and White House staffers detailed accounts of this illicit relationship and others, which were by no means a secret to Washington insiders. The public is reminded of the many dalliances of our 42nd president and the crude manner in which his accusers were handled by his staff, his attorneys and the media. At the time the First Lady was blaming reports regarding her husband’s sexual exploits as part of “a right-wing conspiracy.” Numerous White House security agents then came forward with reports of her own trysts with female partners, in various rooms of the White House during nightly security checks.

What was contained in those delinquent tax filings that cost Vince Foster his life? What could have driven him to commit suicide? If what Miguel Rodriguez said about the Starr investigation was correct, that it was being used to coverup the murder of Vince Foster, perhaps Ambassador Leo Wanta could shed some light on a possible motive.

The Vince Foster connection

In 1993, Ambassador Leo Emil Wanta met with Vince Foster in Geneva, Switzerland. Foster had traveled there to make a special pickup of a disbursement that had been formally requested by the President of the United States, Bill Clinton. According to Wanta, he had been working on “Seal projects” and had been requested to transfer $250 million to an account that was retrievable by Foster. The account was destined for the “Children’s Defense Fund,” hardly a “Seal” project. Wanta arranged for three payments, approximately $81 million dollars each, to be made and converted to U.S. Treasury notes which were given to Foster, who then gave them to Hillary Clinton.

The “Children’s Defense Fund” was a pet project of Hillary Rodham Clinton. It would be revealing to track the $250 million “appropriation” from Switzerland to its final destination. Congress usually handles such appropriations, which are mandated by legislation. Congress did not authorize the briefcase pickup of $250 million from Geneva, Switzerland—by deputy White House counsel-turned-bagman. If the “Children’s Defense Fund” is actually a CIA operation, then one must also conclude that Hillary Rodham Clinton is a CIA operative.

Shortly after Vince Foster departed for his return trip to Washington (with $250 million in tow), Wanta was arrested by Swiss police. His long nightmare had just begun. He was an Ambassador with diplomatic privileges and was incarcerated in a Swiss dungeon. No one close to Wanta, other than principals within the U.S. administration and intelligence agencies, knew about his imprisonment for quite some time. Were it not for Yitzhak Rabin, the Israeli Prime Minister, he might have remained there for an eternity. Israel, along with several other European countries, held a financial interest in Wanta’s release. Rabin’s communication to Swiss authorities ultimately influenced Wanta’s release from Swiss detention, although he was then immediately shackled and illegally extradited to a Federal Court in New York City, and then to Wisconsin, in order to face phony tax charges.

Pardon me?

Wanta, who not only held diplomatic immunity but was also a U.S. Secret Service/Treasury, CIA, and FBI agent, had been instructed by then FBI Director William Sessions to arrest Marc Rich (Reich). Rich is a key player in arms deals, drug trafficking, oil and mineral exploration, and other big-ticket transactions and is a known CIA operative. Rich, who was operating Martwell Investments, a corporation with suspicious contacts to the United Nations, was indicted by then Prosecutor Rudolph Giuliani. According to accounts originally authored by Christopher Story, a Fellow at the British Royal Society of the Arts, and published by the “International Currency Review,” “Economic Intelligence Review” and on his associated website, http://www.worldreports.org, Rich was tipped off by Mossad agents and escaped arrest by Wanta. It was then that Ambassador Wanta was illegally arrested by Swiss police and incarcerated in a dungeon for 134 days, until his subsequent illegal extradition to New York. Sessions was relieved of duty shortly thereafter.

To add to the mystery, Marc Rich (Reich) was proven by Story, in the “International Currency Review,” Volume 31, Numbers 3 and 4, with a mountain of irrefutable documentation, to have entered Canada in 1954 under the name, “Hans Brand,” a German national born in Lelbach/Waldeck uber Korbach, Germany, and not in Antwerp, Belgium. “Marc Rich” (Reich) is merely an alias, and contrary to his exaggerated, autobiographical declarations, the facts documented by Story expose the extent to which the government will hide the truth from the public. In 1983, Rich and his partner Pincus Green were indicted by then U.S. Attorney Guiliani for tax evasion and illegal trading with Iran. Both Rich and Green fled to Switzerland to avoid prosecution and remained on the FBI’s most wanted list until January 20, 2001—the day President Clinton gifted Rich with an 11th-hour pardon prior to leaving office. The pardon caused a shockwave of anger and disbelief among those who understood the treasonous nature of Rich’s activities.

Wanta’s troubles come home

Rich’s association with the Clintons may have some relevance to the theft of “Contract #4,” a $5 trillion contract previously held between the United Nations and Ambassador Leo E. Wanta, and subsequently “stolen” by the Clintons.

Before the false charges were dismissed in New York City, the federal judge asked Wanta why he was there and why his briefcase contained “$18 billion in Treasury instruments.” The judge dismissed the charges on the basis of Wanta’s diplomatic immunity, though she was interested in the large sum in Wanta’s possession. The prosecutor rushed to have all charges dismissed, in an attempt to prevent Wanta’s disclosure of the true facts behind his arrest and appearance in federal court.

Upon his release from the proceedings in federal court, Ambassador Wanta was arrested, now for a third time, by “two New York City policemen on the courthouse steps and without a warrant.” The charge: “tax evasion in the State of Wisconsin.” Again, Wanta faced trumped up charges, though he had not lived in Wisconsin for years. By this time, in 1993, it was apparent that someone was trying to permanently prevent him from accessing the funds he had amassed at the bequest of President Reagan, for the ultimate benefit of the American people.

According to Wanta, after his illegal arrest and extradition to Wisconsin, he was drugged while incarcerated in an Oklahoma prison, during which no fewer than four attempts were made to have him permanently diagnosed and admitted to a mental institution. Secretary of Defense James Forrestal suffered a similar fate in 1949, until he was eventually “suicided.” The reader is reminded that “suicide” is merely doublespeak for “homicide,” especially when a government official or operative is in a position to disclose information pertaining to a crime committed by someone in government.

However, due to the enormous amount of money amassed during the financial destabilization of the former Soviet Union, Wanta would not suffer the same fate until the locations of the accounts and pass codes could be determined—accounts he had carefully established to keep the funds from being stolen by several interested parties.

Note:

Wanta later described three attempts by agents to murder him while he was illegally imprisoned by Swiss authorities. On one occasion, after receiving advice from a female Chinese physician who had examined him, he refused to eat some cheese that was included with his meal. Another prisoner ate the cheese and died “almost instantly.” Wanta had previously been denied medications and treatment for prior-existing medical conditions and he had also been beaten by Swiss intelligence operatives during his illegal incarceration. The Swiss authorities also informed Wanta that Vince Foster had “committed suicide” on the birthday of Wanta’s daughter, a veiled threat to imply that she or another family member may be “taken out” in a similar fashion.

A summary of Ambassador Leo Emil Wanta’s ordeal in the Wisconsin courts reveals “bogus,” trumped-up felony income tax charges that were assessed during a time he was living in a foreign country as an ambassador with diplomatic immunity.

In June, 1992, Wanta grudgingly paid a Wisconsin tax fine of $14,129 while operating in Singapore. The payment was forwarded to his attorney in Wisconsin, but was not recorded by the authorities until late 1995. A second penalty (of the same amount) was paid under protest in July, 1992, as the first payment “had not been received.” A third payment of $30,626.97 was made in July, 2005, based upon “accrued interest” of the previously “unpaid fines.” Finally, Wanta’s home was seized and sold for a reported $60,000.

On each occasion, pertinent documents and receipts were “lost,” “misplaced,” or “never received.” The third such payment was actually made on behalf of Ambassador Wanta by Story, the above-mentioned editor, from his personal funds. Incredibly, in October of 2006, a fourth assessment of this “fine” against Wanta was again made by the authorities of the State of Wisconsin, citing similar “reasons” for the fine. Wanta, it is believed, is soon to file a $1 billion lawsuit against the state under RICO statutes and other torts.

Who is Leo Wanta?

Although Wanta’s birth records and his Social Security number indicate his given name at birth was, “Lee Emil Wanta,” he is known in intelligence circles as, “Leo Emil Wanta.” The fact that Wisconsin authorities levied charges against him under “Leo Emil Wanta” shows the charges to be related to his position within the scope of his intelligence duties, and not as a private individual, “Lee Emil Wanta.” The insinuation by the prosecution that “Leo Emil Wanta could not have been the Ambassador to Somalia because he is not black” is further testament of a conspiracy to discredit Wanta, while intelligence agencies and three successive presidential administrations blatantly pilfer public funds—funds that Wanta is still intending to repatriate into the U.S. Treasury.

Subsequent to Wanta’s illegal incarceration and persecution due to the bogus charges levied against him, he received an “Illuminati” 22-year prison sentence in Wisconsin. He was painted as a “liar” and a “con man” by the prosecution, though never actually proven by any evidence in court. To the contrary, fabricated statements made by Wisconsin authorities and the FBI conflicted with those made by the CIA. While Wanta was incarcerated, the CIA was raiding the various assets of AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc., New Republic/USA Financial Group, GES.m.b.H., Aneko Credit PTE, Limited, Marvelous Investments, Ltd., AmeriChina and his other companies, proclaiming that he was actually “dead,” even though the CIA was well-informed of his “trial” and subsequent incarceration in an Oklahoma high-security prison. A 26-page handwritten letter to President Clinton at the White House persuaded him to commute Wanta’s sentence to “house arrest” in Wisconsin, but the illegal raiding of the various Wanta-owned, Title 18, Section 6 accounts then continued unabated and continues today.

After years of victimization through illegal imprisonment, torture, beatings, drugging, defamation, and assassination attempts, Ambassador Leo Emil Wanta rose from the ashes of his “death” and began to shock the rest of the world. In 2003, Virginia District Federal Judge Gerald Bruce Lee declared Ambassador Wanta to be the “Principal” and Trustor of the $27.5 trillion in funds obtained via the financial implosion of the Soviet Union. Wanta was now in a position to investigate the various means by which the last of three successive presidential administrations had been systematically embezzling the very funds he was commissioned by President Reagan to accrue to revitalize the beleaguered American economy.

Violating the public trustor

Upon his “release” from prison, Wanta remained under house arrest until May, 2005. Out of the way and powerless to intervene, Wanta watched as the raiding of his corporate accounts continued. To fully understand the enormous deception and level of corruption, one must read the publication, “International Currency Review.” This 480-page quarterly is a masterful piece of investigative journalism which decimates the falsehoods, deflections, inconsistencies, and conspiratorial deceptions employed by the Administration, the banks, U.S. intelligence agencies, the U.S. Treasury, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, and the Wisconsin State / U.S. Departments of Justice. Irrefutable evidence has been revealed in this publication, including official documents, Wanta’s handwritten notes and communications to government officials, court transcripts, public records, bank records and receipts.

The bank documents and illicit transactions that Wanta had documented are also supported, in some instances, by photographic evidence. On at least one occasion, intelligence operatives filmed Senator Hillary Clinton at the Bank of Crozier, Grenada. Wanta and others have documented no less than $742 billion in theft from U.S. Treasury accounts there, where Clinton is alleged to have presented CIA documentation in order to withdraw funds in April, 2003. The evidence was submitted to Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald, who has been conducting grand jury investigations into a variety of crimes committed by career politicians and government operatives.

Add to this mountain of evidence supporting Wanta’s claims, in particular the exhaustive list of “participating banks” and elected officials “in the know,” and there can be no doubt that there is a concerted effort by the mainstream media, the government and the courts to completely coverup this most-important crisis. Recent developments in foreign countries underscore the level of deterioration of trust and confidence in the U.S. government due to the outrageous plot to conceal the facts of this case and its negative impact on the world economy and exponentially-escalating levels of U.S. debt.

By December, 2005, Ambassador, Principal and Trustor Wanta had agreed to a settlement of $4.5 trillion, in order to prevent the total implosion of the U.S. economy. This settlement would have required his silence about the remaining funds, which would have given the thieves an “out” and allowed them to continue their pillaging. The settlement would also prevent a domino effect from occurring in other world financial markets. The embezzled funds have since circuited the world several times over, being deposited, transferred, and then laundered through off-balance sheet derivatives and other illegal transactions.

The numbers are staggering

It was no coincidence that the settlement funds were “signed off” to U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, former Chairman of Goldman Sachs. Upon instructions from Federal Judge Gerald Bruce Lee, the $4.5 trillion settlement was originally deposited into a Bank of America account in Virginia, where the case was decided in federal court by Judge Lee. The windfall tax that Ambassador Wanta intended to pay to the U.S. Treasury amounted to $1.575 trillion. Just on the accrued interest alone, that windfall tax would have earned “$96 billion per day,” according to Christopher Story’s “ICR” accounting. Story estimated that the U.S. Treasury, through the duplicitous activities of Secretary Paulson, lost some $10.5 to $11 trillion in interest during the 7-month period following the original “due date” of the $4.5 trillion settlement.

The State (Commonwealth) of Virginia stood to gain a windfall tax payment of some $270 million from the settlement. Because Vice-President and Treasurer Michael C. Cottrell, M.S., of the Ameritrust Groupe, Inc. conducts business in the State of Pennsylvania that state was due a similar windfall tax payment, though the actual amount is unknown at this time.

Other disbursements promised to foreign officials and/or governments include: “$30 billion to the Russian Federation, [and] $5 billion each to the governments of Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mexico, and Spain.”

Where’s the money?

Previously, similar amounts had been promised to the governments of Israel and Palestine, though the “publicized” $15 billion dual payments to both governments were also stolen. Remember that Yitzhak Rabin had attempted to assist in the release of Ambassador Wanta from a Swiss gulag in Lausanne in 1993. Again, the media did its job by covering up the story.

In addition to the blatant refusal of the U.S. administration and the U.S. Treasury to disburse the funds to the legal trustor, the funds were transferred from bank to bank, moving first from the Bank of America account to Wachovia Bank in New York and onward to Goldman Sachs. Intelligence information shows that the funds still reside at Goldman Sachs, though this is denied by the firm. In fact, a Treasury agent recently confirmed that the funds are there, being held illegally and with the complicity of Secretary Paulson.

Shortly after the North Korean “nuclear missile test” scare in late-2006, it was reported by intelligence sources that President Bush had traveled to that country while Treasury Secretary Paulson went to Latvia. Some of the Wanta funds had previously been tracked through North Korea, en route to India. The reported amount was $25 trillion. Coincidentally, after the “successful” missile tests, North Korea received a secret $55 million payment from the U.S. The media assisted in the promotion of fear, yet failed to report this curiously-timed disbursement of funds.

In mid-December, 2006, both Secretary Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke traveled to China to meet with elders and finance ministers. Though the Chinese repeatedly urged U.S. officials to disburse the $4.5 trillion in Wanta settlement funds (and were repeatedly assured they would be dispersed), Paulson and Bernanke attempted to coerce them into “refinancing” $1 trillion in loans (the Chinese had been propping up the U.S. economy to protect its exports business in America by “purchasing” U.S. debt in the form of U.S. treasury bonds and other securities for several years) at 1 percent interest, far less than the usual 4-5 percent they previously received. To boot, the Chinese had already withdrawn $32 trillion in Clearinghouse Interbank Payment System (CHIPS) accounts ($1 trillion per day) during October and November, 2006, which nullified credit transactions above $100 million.

To add further insult to injury, the Chinese then began purchasing oil with British pound sterling, essentially “dumping” the dollar as the preferred oil currency. This fact was again covered up by the mainstream media, when they reported that China was “attempting to sabotage the dollar, by dumping $1 trillion in credits.” The very same accusations were being made on the Congressional floor, prior to the Christmas recess.

Buoyed by frequent updates on the Wanta Plan and reports on the December 23, 2006 arrest of Treasury Secretary Paulson in Germany, the claims made by Ambassador Wanta appear, on all accounts, to be genuine. Paulson was allegedly arrested for attempting to block the settlement a second time. He arrived “late” to the funeral of President Gerald Ford, and was seen sitting behind Nancy Reagan and next to Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice. Due to an impending visit from German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Paulson was reportedly ushered on a plane and flown to Israel. Paulson reportedly was in possession of an Israeli passport, as well. His “diplomatic documentation” in Germany was also in dispute and was not “substantiated” by the U.S. Consulate.

Pieces are falling into place

A careful examination of the Internal Currency Review will reveal that former President George H.W. Bush holds “dual citizenship” with Germany, as he is the reputed “head” of the Deutsche Verteidigungs Dienst, the Dachau DVD, or the Abwehr (underground S.S.). Satellite photos confirm that Bush attended a “secret” meeting of the organization, over which he presides, since taking over its leadership from Dr. Henry Kissinger. Kissinger replaced the DVD founder, Admiral Canaris, who became ill in 1976. Canaris reestablished the DVD in Oklahoma City under the name, Samuel Randall Pittman after World War II. The DVD records were stored in the Murrah Federal Building, which was subsequently destroyed in the infamous bombing by “Timothy McVeigh.” CNN also assisted in the coverup of that event, although they “accidentally” transmitted pictures of an “unexploded, stacked bomb” which was visible in the portion of the building that was left standing.

Among the many documents that have mysteriously surfaced on the Internet—documents that support Wanta’s claims—are a series of bank transfer records known as the “Vreeland Faxes.” Delmart Edward “Mike” Vreeland, an ONI agent, posted copies of Wanta’s records on the Web which detail multi-billion dollar transactions, account numbers, and recipient information. Of interest to many were the names of the “shell” corporations. “The Francis X. Driscoll Trust” was purportedly a joint account between George H.W. Bush and the Queen of England. “Pilgrim Investments” was found to have ties, among others, to Hutchison-Whampoa Ltd., the global shipping company owned by Li Ka-Shing, a Chinese billionaire and real estate tycoon. Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) is a subsidiary that controls ports around the world and has the exclusive rights to control the Panama Canal. Though the arrangement appeared to make no sense at all to most Americans, with the information above, we can now understand why the current administration attempted to give the “port inspection” contract to Hutchison-Whampoa in the Bahamas in 2006, under the pretext of “inspecting cargo for nuclear devices.”

Though the media reported the Ports Dubai scandal, they failed to accurately describe the attempt to “hand over” American ports to a company from the Middle East. Despite the news that “six” ports were to be handed over to the company, 22 to 29 ports along the East Coast and the Gulf of Mexico would have been a more accurate analysis of the plan.

According to Leo Wanta, on November 1, 2001, U.S. agents secretly met in Manila, Philippines with a “lieutenant” of Osama Bin Laden, Datu Ben Abu. Wanta detailed the identity of participants of the meeting, which was reminiscent to the above-referenced Hilton Hotel meeting in 1986. In a handwritten letter to Vice-President Richard Cheney, Wanta described “Red Mercury, Stinger II missiles and boxes of cash (weapons).”

Also present at the clandestine meeting were a “Dr. Navarro” and a “Madame Teleki (Eva Teleki).” Despite Wanta’s incarceration, it appeared that his expertise was still considered valuable to the perpetrators of 9/11. Cheney forwarded the letter to the head of the NSA, Condoleeza Rice, and then on to the president. Despite the rhetoric we heard leading up to the invasion of Iraq, it was apparent our government was willing to assist those who were later blamed for the WTC/Pentagon attacks — al-Queda. Of course, the media failed to report and investigate this important story as well.

End notes

Little known to the public is the imminent insolvency of several large financial institutions due to the off-balance sheet and tax-free transactions in worldwide derivatives markets. Although the media continue to sensationalize their usual bevy of trivial news stories, the greatest financial scandal in the history of the United States—and in the world—marches onward, while their treacherous conspiracy and complicity to hide the facts in this case demonstrates their willingness to honor treason, corruption, and tyranny.

Despite the best efforts of the government and its intelligence agencies to distort the facts, misinform, or outright lie about the Wanta Plan, the Internet has been a repository of information. As the story has begun to be understood and verified by many outstanding researchers and conspiracy experts, the criminals perpetrating the fraud on the American public and the world have suddenly realized that the clock is ticking, and time is running out. Several Internet talk-show hosts (not worth mentioning by name) have determined the story to be “a hoax.” Such ignorant declarations smack of the same hypocrisy that is evident among a “bribed” or “bridled” mainstream media. The citizens of the United States have witnessed countless assassinations of public figures, the subsequent coverups, and the rhetoric that ultimately follows. The problem here is that we have been lied to one too many times, and this story will not “go away,” as have those of the past.

The time has come for all Americans to awaken from the mind control, the brain washing, and the dismantling of our individual sovereignty. Ambassador Leo E. Wanta, Michael C. Cottrell, M.S., and Christopher Story (a British citizen) have exhibited a determination to honor the truth, a quality severely lacking among those entrusted with our safety and well-being. These courageous men have demonstrated more loyalty to our country than those who have openly and systematically defied the very laws they, themselves, have created. The crime of the millennium is being perpetrated before our very eyes, and if left to an incompetent, compliant, and conspiratorial media, the price will be far greater than what is now an estimated $75 trillion in stolen funds.

OLDDOGS COMMENTS

Why is this information not a house-hold conversation on a daily basis?

Because most American’s will not read anything that does not make them laugh in the first sentence, quote sport’s statistics, or make them money.

That say’s a lot for the government educated, media entertained, mouth breather’s the middle class are supporting, but what is the poor middle classes’ excuse, other than a fascination with sex, and violence?

First, one has to really enjoy learning by reading, and second, one has to have enough distance between their ears for their intellectual development to grow.

After profound analysis I’ve decided that most American Socialist actually want a police state; to gain protection from the working class that want five hundred channels of [PROFESSIONAL ? ] wrestling and NASCAR on the cable, beer, porn, easy sex and two weeks a year at Disney World. They don’t read much, largely because of honest inability, and count on their fingers, up to maybe six. They would be perfectly happy to have storm troopers on every corner, as Uzis and flack jackets lend drama to lives that don’t have any intellectual pursuits.

This deplorable situation is the result of a government controlled education that brain drains our citizens before they reach puberty, and destroys interest in any higher thoughts than self gratification, and media addiction.

The Economic Collapse
December 29, 2011

If you spend much time watching the mainstream news, then you know how incredibly vapid it can be.  It is amazing how they can spend so much time saying next to nothing.  There seems to be a huge reluctance to tackle the tough issues and the hard questions.  Perhaps I should be thankful for this, because if the mainstream media was doing their job properly, there would not be a need for the alternative media.  Once upon a time, the mainstream media had a virtual monopoly on the dissemination of news in the United States, but that has changed.  Thankfully, the Internet in the United States is free and open (at least for now) and people that are hungry for the truth can go searching for it.  Today, an increasing number of Americans want to understand why our economy is dying and why our national debt is skyrocketing.  An increasing number of Americans are deeply frustrated with what is going on in Washington D.C. and they are alarmed that we seem to get closer to becoming a totalitarian police state with each passing year.  People want real answers about our foreign policy, about our corrupt politicians, about our corrupt financial system, about our shocking moral decline and about the increasing instability that we are seeing all over the world, and they are not getting those answers from the mainstream media. If the mainstream media will not do it, then those of us in the alternative media will be glad to tackle the tough issues.  The following are 40 hard questions that the American people should be asking right now….

#1 If Iran tries to shut down the Strait of Hormuz, what will that do to the price of oil and what will that do to the global economy?

#2 If Iran tries to shut down the Strait of Hormuz, will the United States respond by launching a military strike on Iran?

#3 Why is the Federal Reserve bailing out Europe?  And why are so few members of Congress objecting to this?

#4 The U.S. dollar has lost well over 95 percent of its value since the Federal Reserve was created,  the U.S. national debt is more than 5000 times larger than it was when the Federal Reserve was created and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has a track record of incompetence that is absolutely mind blowing.  So what possible justification is there for allowing the Federal Reserve to continue to issue our currency and run our economy?

#5 Why does the euro keep dropping like a rock?  Is this a sign that Europe is heading for a major recession?

#6 Why are European banks parkingrecord-setting amounts of cash at the European Central Bank?  Is this evidence that banks don’t want to lend to one another and that we are on the verge of a massive credit crunch?

#7 If the European financial system is going to be just fine, then why is the UK government preparing feverishly for the collapse of the euro?

#8 What did the head of the IMF mean when she recently said that we could soon see conditions “reminiscent of the 1930s depression“?

#9 How in the world can Mitt Romney say with a straight face that the individual health insurance mandate that he signed into law as governor of Massachusetts was based on “conservative principles”?  Wouldn’t that make the individual mandate in Obamacare “conservative” as well?

#10 If the one thing that almost everyone in the Republican Party seems to agree on is that Obamacare is bad, then why is the candidate that created the plan that much of Obamacare was based upon leading in so many of the polls?

#11 What did Mitt Romney mean when he stated that he wants “to eliminate some of the differences, repeal the bad, and keep the good” in Obamacare?

#12 If no Republican candidate is able to accumulate at least 50 percent of the delegates by the time the Republican convention rolls around, will that mean that the Republicans will have abrokered convention that will enable the Republican establishment to pick whoever they want as the nominee?

#13 Why are middle class families being taxed into oblivion while the big oil companies receiveabout $4.4 billion in specialized tax breaks a year from the federal government?

#14 Why have we allowed the “too big to fail” banks to become even larger?

#15 Why has the United States had a negative trade balance every single year since 1976?

#16 Back in 1970, 25 percent of all jobs in the United States were manufacturing jobs. Today, only 9 percent of all jobs in the United States are manufacturing jobs.  How in the world could we allow that to happen?

#17 If the United States has lost an average of 50,000 manufacturing jobs a month since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001, then why don’t our politicians do something about it?

#18 If you can believe it, more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities in the United States have permanently closed down since 2001.  So exactly what does that say about our economy?

#19 Why was the new Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall made in China?Wasn’t there anyone in America that could make it?

#20 If low income jobs now account for 41 percent of all jobs in the United States, then how are we going to continue to have a vibrant middle class?

#21 Why do the poor just keep getting poorer in the United States today?

#22 How can the Obama administration be talking about an “economic recovery” when 48 percent of all Americans are either considered to be “low income” or are living in poverty?

#23 Why has the number of new cars sold in the U.S. declined by about 50 percent since 1985?

#24 How can we say that we have a successful national energy policy when the average American household will spend a whopping $4,155 on gasoline by the end of this year?

#25 Why does it take gigantic mountains of money to get a college education in America today?  According to the Student Loan Debt Clock, total student loan debt in the United States will surpass the 1 trillion dollar mark in early 2012.  Isn’t there something very wrong about that?

#26 Why do about a third of all U.S. states allow borrowers who don’t pay their bills to be put in jail?

#27 If it costs tens of billions of dollars to take care of all of the illegal immigrants that are already in this country, why did the Obama administration go around Congress and grant “backdoor amnesty” to the vast majority of them?  Won’t that just encourage millions more to come in illegally?

#28 Why are gun sales setting new all-time records in America right now?

#29 Why are very elderly women being strip-searched by TSA agents at U.S. airports?  Does that really keep us any safer?

#30 The last words of Steve Jobs were “Oh wow. Oh wow. Oh wow.“  What did he mean by that?

#31 How in the world did scientists in Europe decide that it was a good idea for them to create a new “killer bird flu” that is very easy to pass from human to human?

#32 If our founding fathers intended to set up a limited central government, then why does the federal government just continue to get bigger and bigger?

#33 Are we on the verge of an absolutely devastating retirement crisis?  On January 1st, 2011 the very first of the Baby Boomers started to reach the age of 65.  Now more than 10,000 Baby Boomers will be turning 65 every single day for the next two decades.  So where in the world are we going to get all the money we need to pay them the retirement benefits that we have promised them?

#34 If the federal government stopped all borrowing today and began right at this moment to repay the U.S. national debt at a rate of one dollar per second, it would take over 440,000 years to pay off the U.S. national debt.  So does anyone out there actually still believe that the U.S. national debt will be paid off someday?

#35 If the U.S. economy is getting better, then why are an all-time record 46 million Americans now on food stamps?

#36 How can we say that we have the greatest economy on earth when we have a child poverty rate that is more than twice as high as France and one out of every four American children is on food stamps?

#37 Since 1964, the reelection rate for members of the U.S. House of Representatives has never fallen below 85 percent.  So are the American people really that stupid that they would keep sending the exact same Congress critters back to Washington D.C. over and over and over?

#38 What does it say about our society that nearly one-third of all Americans are arrested by the time they reach the age of 23?

#39 Why do so many of our politicians think that it is a good idea to allow the U.S. military to arrest American citizens on American soil and indefinitely detain them without a trial?

#40 A new bill being considered by the U.S. House of Representatives would give the U.S. government power to shut down any website that is determined to “engage in, enable or facilitate” copyright infringement.  Many believe that the language of the new law is so vague that it would allow the government to permanently shut down any website that even links very briefly to “infringing material”.  Prominent websites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube would be constantly in danger of being given a “death penalty”.  The American people need to ask their members of Congress this question: Do you plan to vote for SOPA (The Stop Online Piracy Act)?  If the answer is yes, that is a clear indication that you should never cast a single vote for that member of Congress ever again.

So do you have answers to some of the questions posted above?

I have not come this far in my studies without realizing that there will be few of you who will read all of the articles in this massive work, and to you few, I leave this warning. The information contained herein will break the strongest heart and overwhelm the most committed mind. You will be enraged one minute and shaking with fear the next, then devastated with defeatism. So, to you few I say, gird up your loins and put on the full armor of faith, you are about to see the face of evil in your mind, and will never be the same again. It will take many men with your courage to save humanity from these evil men.

Had I known all of this in my twenties, there would be thousands rotting in their graves by now. When you cannot read anymore, go sit with the women.

Gold: How High Is Up? U.S. $5000, Confiscation?

12/28/2011

http://www.thedailybell.com/3406/Gold-How-High-Is-Up-US5000

by Staff Report

Will gold deliver another glittering year in 2012? … This year saw dizzying gains and two big crashes. So does gold still deserve its ‘safe haven’ image, or is it just another volatile and risky asset? Is it a wise decision to buy gold at present? The asset – famously given as one of the gifts of the magi – is seen as the ultimate “safe haven” investment in times of political instability, economic turmoil or rising inflation. Given world events this year – the Arab Spring, financial crisis in the eurozone, economic stagnation in the West, and the inflationary effects of central banks printing money to keep credit markets liquid – it is not surprising that the price of gold has risen again, after a decade of strong gains. – UK Telegraph

Dominant Social Theme: Gold is in a bubble. Beware.

Free-Market Analysis: Every once in a while, and with increasing frequency, major media presents a commentary wondering “how high gold can go” and whether the yellow metal is now in an official bubble. Every once in a while, we point out that gold is being driven by market manipulations, not by the free-market.

Gold can keep going up until this metals-market “bull” subsides. When will it subside? We are on record in plenty of articles as stating (for years now) that the metals bull will gradually peter out around 2015 or so. We came to this conclusion by comparing this bull leg to the previous one in the 1970s. We figured the economy was 50 percent more distorted now than then. And that’s why we tacked on an extra five years. “Why Gold Sells Off and What Will Happen Next …

But we might be wrong. The powers-that-be have taken extraordinary action to retard the depressive distortions of the market. By disallowing cures for the distortive elements, the power elite that apparently runs most of the planet has prolonged economic distortions and turned what might have been a short, sharp depression into a long one.

Why would they want to do such a thing? Well … we’ve speculated that the idea is to create a worldwide economic crisis that will lead to an atmosphere accommodative of world-wide government. The basic functionality of one-world governance has already been created and can be seen in facilities such as the UN, the IMF, the World Bank, theInternational Criminal Court, etc.

The power elite utilize dominant social themes – fear-based promotions – that frighten people into giving up wealth and power to globalist facilities. These themes need to be buttressed by action in order to be entirely believable. Thus, fear of a global depression needs to be promoted via reality. And so, gradually, it evidently is.

The unreliability of gold is another elite dominant social theme. The last thing the Anglosphere power elite apparently wants is for people to begin using gold and silver within a free-market context. So they launch broadside after broadside against the rise of gold via the controlled elite news media. This Telegraph article would seem to be a variant on the theme. Here’s some more:

According to figures from the World Gold Council, the price of gold was $1,596 per ounce just before Christmas. (Gold is traditionally priced in dollars and is still weighted by a medieval measure called the troy ounce, which is just over 30g.) This is up from $1,420 at the beginning of the year, and an increase of almost 500pc from the price it was trading at ($278 per ounce) on Christmas Eve 2001.

Even when gains are converted into sterling, British investors have made substantial and sustained gains at a time when many other assets have fallen in value. In sterling terms, gold rose by 33pc in 2005, 8.3pc in 2006, 29.2pc in 2007, 34.2pc in 2008, 12.7pc in 2009, 31.4pc in 2010 and, despite a recent blip, it has still gone up by 12.2pc since the start of this year. The question for investors is how long this gravity-defying rise in prices can continue. Should those who already own gold be increasing their holdings while economic uncertainty remains, or be looking to reduce their exposure and bank profits instead? And is it too late for those who don’t have any gold to join the party?

We can see the case being built in this article, point by point for gold … wariness. Of course, the question is not asked as to why the entire mainstream financial community remained quiet most of this past decade about gold.

If there were some other asset class that had appreciated like gold, it would be shouted from the proverbial rooftops. But when was the last time you received a glowing mainstream report on the prospects for gold? And how about earlier in the decade? Did your Merrill Lynch broker call you up with a “hot tip” about money metals? Ever?

This is part of the problem that the top elites have with what we have come to call the Internet Reformation. It exposes the essentially charlatan nature of the larger financial community. How is it that that the alternative, free-market press has been right about everything from the business cycle to money metals to the bust of the housing bubble? How is that the trillion-dollar-a-year Western financial media has been so wrong? Somebody ought to bring some sort of class action lawsuit …

The mainstream financial media supposedly contains the best minds and has at its fingertips the best possible data. And yet bunches of financially illiterate bloggers lacking glittering economic degrees have been able to directly anticipate the future. How is that possible?

Well, let us use the Daily Bell as a modest example. We have no glittering degrees. We have never taught at Harvard (not one of us). We have never received invitations from the president of the US to work as a financial advisor to his cabinet. (We had hopes, of course. It is our fate to remain bitterly disappointed.)

And yet our record (our public record) is pretty good. We were aware of the housing bubble and the general financial malaise that was upcoming prior to 2007. We wrote article after article explaining the potential demise of the EU and euro, of the Chinese bubble economy and the upcoming struggles of the dollar-reserve system, the decline of popularity of the Federal Reserve and central banking in general.

Some would claim we are relentlessly pessimistic. Others would claim that our positions are merely lucky guesses. No such thing. It IS possible to tell the future in the current global economy because it is a MAN-MADE economy. If it were a FREE economy, we would not have such an easy time of it. But it is not a free economy. Hence, we can anticipate the manmade patterns. (And so can you!)

Just keep in mind that a gigantic hoax has been played on the people of the West over the past century. They have been convinced by the most devious and facile among us that human beings (central bankers) can control the rate and volume of money to create prosperity. Of course, they cannot. They can only create ruin.

And they have. By printing so much money, endlessly, around the world – so many dollars, really – they have fooled business owners into thinking they were rich. That’s how fiat-money bubbles work … every time. There was a global boom that is now turning predictably into a global bust, driven by an overabundance of money. No central banker, after all, can tell you how much is too much. The price of money is now fixed around the world. And price fixes never work.

The obverse of price-fixing is the chaotic result. The power elites – while making noises in the opposite direction – seem to seek this chaos. Everything they do from lending money to failed corporate giants to demanding that large banks set aside additional pieces of paper (“money”) before they can lend more only retards the process of recovery and plunges the world deeper into gloom.

They know all this, though. They must! They put the system into place. Hundreds of central banks around the world supervised by the secretive BIS. Coincidence? No, the object is very obviously global governance, or so it would seem. Make things bad enough and people will surrender to what seems inevitable.

What is necessary to keep in mind in this economy is that everything the powers-that-be say and do runs contrary to economic salvation. It is a backwards “bizarro” world in which every “positive” move carries the seeds of additional destruction. Ah, we could write a book about all this. (Actually, we have: High Alert.) But the bottom line when it comes to buying gold and silver is to keep in mind the larger environment and whether or not the elites are actually allowing the global economy to unwind quickly or slowly.

So long as the unwinding is retarded, as it has been, there is no reason to believe that gold is in a “bubble.” People are buying gold because they distrust everything else. Countries are insolvent, large corporations see nowhere to peddle their gadgets and banks are being constrained from lending via a variety of central banking initiatives.

How high can gold go? Much higher as economic chaos grows – or so we would think. We don’t feel like we are anywhere near the end of this cycle. Interest rates are low, not high, and economies are not generating jobs (how could they?).

China has not yet collapsed (we anticipate it will) and the full-on depression the elites apparently seek has not yet been realized. Within this context gold COULD go much higher. On the other hand, as we have written previously, we don’t know if it will get there.

We don’t know if the powers-that-be will tolerate US$5000 an once gold. We think they may seek to shut the economy down (or even consider gold confiscation) as part of installing something larger. We think they may have in mind making the IMF into a kind of global central bank. We think they may use war, along with global economic ruin, to move the world along to the international fiat currency of which they dream.

As for gold, it may continue to ascend until it is stopped. Inevitably, it will likely cycle through the metal itself to “paper gold” and stocks, including junior mining stocks as the metal itself grows more expensive. Same with silver. Again, it is a man-made cycle. As such it is predictable.

Nonetheless, we have a hard time thinking even “Tall” Paul Volcker can reverse THIS business cycle. What would rates have to go to? Forty percent? The alternative is inflation, maybe hyperinflation. That, too, may have been “baked into the cake.”

Conclusion: Conversations about a “gold bubble” and how high gold can go are perhaps incidental (or unimportant) conversations when one considers the possibility of more fundamental issues …

COULD THE NATIONAL DEBT AND ALL DEBTS BE ELIMINATED?

Why is U.S. currency printed by the Federal Reserve Bank, a private company? Can a barter system work, and would Americans be better off with it?

(Dec. 27, 2011) — Marilyn M. Barnewall posted:

Because my career was banking, I have written much about the attack on America’s independent banks by a federal regime that apparently seeks global governance.

And Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr., Ph.D., J.D. posted:

THE STATE ELECTRONIC GOLD CURRENCY PLAN

I am Steven Wayne Pattison, and I started off my career as a self-employed Financial Planner schooled as a math major and later as a computer programmer. My biggest education started when I became self-employed.

you have to work long hours because you are the employer and the employee. During my journey, I was providing ‘financial’ educations to other self-employed people. When I wrote my first computer program for estate tax planning, I was able to see that inflation was stealing everyone’s assets. Without the computer and this program, in 1973 I would not have been able to learn that all the banklords were getting paid interest on a piece of paper that cost them about two cents to print a one hundred dollar Federal Reserve Note. We all should be in the business of printing money with that type of return plus getting paid interest on the piece of paper each year. Just to state this again for the record:  They paid two cents for one hundred dollars which have been Federal Reserve Notes (FRNs) for some time. If you paid your costs for production of an asset and sold it as was just explained, you would have made 5000 times your cost. 5000 x .02 = $100.00.  Then at the end of the year after you loaned out the $100.00, you get paid an interest rate of 4%, which is $4.00/year until the money is paid back to the one who paid for its creation.

Since 1973 or thereabouts, I have been studying our money problems because, being self-employed, I was unable to get a business loan to expand my business from any of the monopoly banks. In the beginning, money was only used as part of barter system, a trade of what you owned for something someone else owns. The simple solution is for all of us to use our own IOUs, and then we would not have the Federal Debt we have or the very large interest payments to the owners of the U.S. Securities. The current U.S. Securities are currently over $14 trillion or FRNs. The going interest rate today is about 4% and 4% times 14 trillion FRNs = about 560 billion FRNs each year. That amount is currently  not payable in the current IOU system we have today.

If we had printed our own money for all those years, that interest payment would be paid to the People collectively.

There are a lot of other people explaining the problem, but all inflation and all business cycles causing deflation are caused by the lack of money in the hands of the consumers. The reason they tell us that they had to have the Federal Reserve System was to control the inflation and deflation which in some years have still caused recessions or depressions, both being a bad thing for consumers who are first workers. Of course, all these recessions or depressions were caused by the banklords. And again, the reason is that the consumers did not have the money they needed because they didn’t have jobs or a loan from a bank. This same system was also created so that we could compete with workers of the other countries such as China, but that never worked, either.

I have come to the conclusion that it was all a lie to steal our assets, including all of our gold and silver which is explained here.  All the countries in the world should have a system whereby their money is valued as a price of their entire asset within the country. But if they were to buy or sell to another country, the asset, such as a ton of rice, would have to be delivered to the other country for the real assets which they are willing to accept in exchange, such as a ton of wheat. The results would put our workers back to work. In 1900 over 90% of the population of the United States of America was self-employed whereby most of them could not get a loan, causing them to have to go to work for big business such that these businesses prospered because they were able to get loans from the monopoly banks. That has all changed because of the banking monopoly, as most of our businesses are failing today.

This system would not work much differently than it does now, but for some very important things:  the People would own collectively all the money that would represent the total value of all assets. Whatever the different governments owned would be their share of all the money, and everyone would have to be responsible for his or her assets.  Yes, we will have the poor to deal with, but we have them now.  We would all get involved in making our system work with one big advantage:   no one pays any interest on the money unless someone wants to borrow it from someone else to use, which is not any different than the system we have now. The consumers, people who own something of value, would all collectively own their share on an agreed-upon value as in the time predating 1775. If I owned one thing that you wanted and by chance you owned one thing I wanted, then we would barter.  Before 1775, they had gold and silver coins, so if you wanted what I owned but I wanted twenty more dollars or so many ounces of gold or silver, then we would be consumers. Because someone has stolen most of the gold and silver, this new system would not need any coins. Today we could do the very same thing. If we all were able to agree on a value of all the assets we owned collectively with everyone and that total figure was put into an account so that you could spend it any way you wanted, there would never again be a recession, inflation or deflation other than because of a shortage of an item, for instance, orange juice, because of a hard freeze driving up the price temporarily. If the weather was great one year and the wheat producers had a bumper harvest, then the price might go down, but it would not stay there for very long.

By getting everything you own valued along with everyone’s assets, the total amount placed in an account would be known as something like ‘The People’s IOUs’ debit account.” The assets of everyone within our country would be available only to exchange with others within our country. You would not need to get a loan because you would have all your value of your assets available at any time. If all the people in our country did this, there would be no need for the Federal Reserve because we all would be bartering without any national debt or interest to anyone. If you have assets, you don’t have to ask a banker for a loan. All the money needed would already be represented. This is not much different than the way it works now, but we would get paid instead of the banks.

If we had had this type of money system from the beginning, the Federal Reserve would not own us and we would not have the national debt we have. Everyone would have been responsible for what he or she spent because it was his or her money to spend. Yes, there are other details that need to be worked out, but this type of system would have made us the bankers collectively. We would have a huge wealthy middle class with very few people being poor and very few people being rich. We would all have a level playing field. Some of us could collectively unite and take over what a few rich people control today.

With this type of money, things would have been different, and We the People would have been paid all of that interest but for one big difference:  We would not have had inflation or deflation. The only reason something would go up or down is the ‘Supply and Demand’ for any one asset. We would not have had to bail out the banks or anyone, for that matter. I also could see all of us collectively owning all the utility companies, insurance companies and the list could go on and on.

Because we as a government do not own enough gold or silver to back our money, it would never work long-term. The banklords that I expect own most of the gold would be able to control any money that is backed by gold, which has happened many times in the history of this world. If all the money is available based on a value of all the assets held in our country, we would need accountants or computer programmers only to keep track just as you keep track of your checking account. We will not be in the situation we are in now if we go to this type of money system.

I also support the idea of having all of what the Federal Reserve or, for that matter, anyone else, which has stolen our gold or any other assets returned to us, including all taxes that were improperly taken from anyone, including their family members tracing back to the beginning of the fraud.

If you only knew how much money has been stolen from you without your knowledge, you would be calling me right now. From all the income you have been paid, the bankers get about nine times or even more than that amount for every year that you have worked.

America’s Great Failing- Education

12/28/2011

http://madisonsrepublic.com/2011/12/27/americas-great-failing-education/

What has America done to Education?  America has in the past 50 years told our kids that competition, hard work, performance, and dedication to a goal was damaging to the mental and social well-being of society.  But, we also had an elite who was satisfied in that their role in society and this was somehow theirs without obligation to the Nation.

What we have is a country of 50 states with numerous counties and even more school districts being run as a patchwork quilt.   Some school districts are politically motivated,  some are religiously motivated, and some are just not motivated.  The school districts are handling kids from many backgrounds, various educational levels,  with funding problems, community problems, and too much leadership without accountability. School superintendents and school boards are either non-accountable or politically motivated by the perceived community standards and not educational standards.

An American Department of Education independent of the political appointments, machinations, and bickering must be established with a minimum of bureaucracy. Educators not theorists must listen to the teachers and educators at all levels to develop a program that strengthens not dumbs down our students and citizens of the future.

Can a U. S. Department of Education work for the U.S. ? Yes it can. But it takes leadership, patience, and a minimum of interference from the petty politics of the locals. Congress, especially the House must be limited in its scope and influence because though it may represent the people it represents too many factions.

The Department of Education must lead with education reforms and leadership that will sustain all of the states for the long haul.  It must do so without violating the tenants of the US Constitution, but be true to the values of science, mathematics, history, language, and problem-solving skills.  Teachers need to have the flexibility to establish tests in the curriculum that will measure that standard at its level or higher.  States and school boards will not have the flexibility to lower expectations, or modify the standard.  The standards would first be implemented at the 3rd grade and measured at every grade thereafter. The student would be brought along meeting the criteria of the standard.  At each grade level an expectation of accomplishment must be expected. Graduation or failure.  All class levels will have standards to be met in each subject area. Curriculum at the school level must be built around critical – thinking and problem – solving.

Funding for education must be equitable with additional resources available serving the needy students of society. There must be an investment in teachers, ongoing professional training, and paying teachers competitively and comparably.  More hands on mental thinking needs to be incorporated into the basics of learning by teachers.

Our education system requires a coherent plan that crosses all 50 states,  it must have the national will to marshal the resources to establish and meet long-term goals.

Benchmarks in education are important and they don’t take 20 years to implement.  The states should be establishing benchmarks or standards that make sense across the board. The standards established at local level must complement the national standard for science, mathematics, history, language, and critical-thinking so that a student in one state can move to another without either being a year ahead or a year behind. Punitive testing or the over reliance of testing does more harm than good. Tests must measure the accuracy of the knowledge of the student. Teachers who prepare and set up proper measurements should be able to do their own testing.  Students as well as (parents) must be held accountable for the in the class room.  Teachers with the coordination of counselors should have the last word on promotion. Experimentation in standards is not an option for charter schools, academy’s, or other forms of education. Education is a necessity for all not just for the college bound or skilled. The multiple expermentations in various schools and should be at a minimum unless there are strictly defined criteria and standards.

Waivers and elimination of graduation requirements are unacceptable. In seven states they have eliminated finals at colleges and in many states they have looked at or implemented alternated high school diplomas. that is unacceptable. The United states cannot compete world wide let alone internally within our own borders with poorly educated populace.

In New York City nearly two-thirds of on time high school students weren’t ready for college, as reported in the Wall Street journal, dated October 25th 2011.  The statistics across the country indicate that 60%  of high school graduates are not college ready and need remedial work.   In 2009 Arizona graduated less than 60% of their students. Colleges and community colleges must establish strict expectations of graduates and establish not only communication with the community, but expect high schools meet the standards of first year college students. It is not acceptable for colleges to be aloof. They must demand high school excellence.

As a nation and with the examples above this nation is in dire straits.  Education must be a high priority.  And for those who have dropped out, the WIA or Workforce Investment Act must be funded and real standards put in place to encourage to further higher education.  Students must be held accountable for their attendance, discipline, and academics.

We are no longer the leader in education. We are in the middle of the pack.  We must take this challenge and return to the future. Our children are our future, they will respond to expectations, rules, hard work, and honest evaluations with a maximum of critical – thinking.

The Republican Dilemma and Americas Future

12/27/2011

“AN AMERICAN

OLIGARCHY”

by Harry Wainwright, ©2011, blogging at GiveUsLiberty1776

(Dec. 26, 2011) — Having attained a majority in the House in 2010, we conservative citizens breathed a sigh of relief because we had loosened the Democratic stranglehold in the Congress. Our incoming freshmen campaigned on a platform of righting wrongs and supporting our constitutional precepts and then too, there is 2012 to complete the picture.

Many of us have supplied our elected representatives with all manner of inculpatory evidence and information of treasonous activity to no avail. A little showboating on committees, and absolutely no actual effort to elicit the truth about Democrat transgressions or the ineligibility of the White House usurper. Communication with our champions is not much better than it is with a Democrat. Once elected they all shut us out.

In the last couple of showdowns with the Democrat controlled Senate and the White House, Republican’s caved in spectacular fashion. One has to ask why? There was no need for capitulation on either issue. Everyone knew of the deadlines, and until the witching hour our brave party positively assured us that their position was unequivocal. Yet, they capitulated both times. Now what is the message for us?

Consider if you will, that we become the Congressional majority and elect a Republican president in 2012. All will be well and we can begin the work of rectifying the wrongs which have been inflicted upon us and shoring up the walls of constitutionalism so that they can never be breached, and changing, not only the face of our government, but also the core.

It isn’t going to happen. Going back to my question about the peculiar behavior of our Republicans…and their nonchalant attitude about the message they are sending us. They don’t care, because genuine old style politics is already a thing of the past. They don’t think we are that dumb anymore that we just don’t understand what is going on. They don’t care. It doesn’t matter. They’ll act out the charade for the naive among us but in fact, they are already a cabal. Whichever party is in power…it’s still “them.”

Under the present circumstances, we, the American loyalist, are already defeated. Those two capitulations were programmed. Everything they do is programmed. This is probably the very last time that the Republican Party can, or ever will, win an election and they know it. America is rapidly being transformed by sheer weight of numbers. California is the exemplar for the future of the country. The white, Anglo-Saxon, protestant California (WASP) ceased to exist in the early 1990′s although it was well on the road to ruin in the mid-60′s. This is America‘s future. The welcome mat is open to anyone who wants to destroy America – with the full blessing of ALL of our politicians. They are the future, and the foundation, of an American oligarchy. They will never vote Republican. They are actually not interested in party politics. They are only interested in taking over the country because they are envious, hateful, or intellectually blind – and the black “American” has consistently voted for the Democratic Party and will continue to do so even though they have been abused by it.

Many of us still regard Iowa as a shining example of rural America. It is not. It is changing rapidly. It is mostly urban and industrial and is being infiltrated by Hispanics and blacks. Farming is a weak segment of its gross product. Its political base is no longer cast in concrete. We are being infiltrated at a furious pace. We are being ethnically “birthed” out of our constitutional existence at a furious pace. Republicans, as such, have no future in America – so what must they do? They must coalesce with the power base – and they already have. The Democrats may lose the election in 2012 but they will still be in league with the Republicans, because only the future of our politicians matters to our politicians.

So, am I saying that America is doomed? It does not have to be. It can still be saved, but it is going to take a strong stomach and much sacrifice. Frankly, I am not sure that our loyalist population is even aware of what is happening. We’re engaged in a WAR. (A concerted effort or campaign to combat or put an end to something considered injurious). Are you willing to die for a free America? Brace yourselves…this is what it will probably take. There is no likelihood that our effort to defeat tyranny by legal means is ever going to be successful.

Still not convinced? Ask yourself this question, and do not hide from the truth. What do you expect after the 2012 election?

  • The immediate closure of our borders and the return to our legal immigration policy?
  • The deportation of every illegal and their families – including all the criminals in our jails and their permanent disbarment from entry into the USA under any conditions?
  • The ruthless downsizing of government to conform to the Constitution? (The elimination of all illegitimately created departments and bureaucracies).
  • Stripping all government of its self-created illegal powers and perks. Never again allow the government to act in any way contrary to the will of the people and the Constitution?
  • Ruthlessly examine and restructure entitlement programs to a bare moral minimum?
  • Demolish the two party political system and replace with a Constitutional Congress whose members will have differences of opinion and methodology, but all members will be Constitutionalists?
  • Term limits?
  • Strict laws and regulations to control lobbying? All lobbying to be presented to a Commission and never to an elected representative.
  • A flat tax system? Make it illegal for anyone over the age of 18 to be paid for a service without proof of payment?
  • Criminal proceedings against all who have defied their oath of office?
  • Criminal proceedings against all who have deliberately broken the law?
  • In depth revision and control of all elected officials powers?
  • Repeal of all executive orders and anti-populace laws and mandates?
  • Never again allow the political appointing of any judge? Legally prosecute and remove from office, with forfeiture of all pensions, any judge who rules against the law and the Constitution?
  • Balancing the budget? Mandatory reduction in spending?
  • Maintain a military which at all times is capable of defending America ?
  • Curtail the nefarious practices of Unions. All workers must be allowed representation at worker level, but the “big boss” unions must be legally prohibited?
  • Complete overhaul of education to enforce a constitutionally based curriculum?
  • The condemnation of radical Islam as a religion in America. The banning of all mosques, veils, burqas, symbols, etc?
  • The complete overhaul of non-profit, pseudo political think thanks and quasi-religious organizations (and ministers) which are ripping off taxpayers?
  • Overhaul the FCC and re-institute viewer and listener friendly regulations?
  • Banning forever anti-Constitutional activity?
  • English only. Prohibit any government printing in any other language. No accommodation in government matters for non-English speakers. They must absorb the language in order to become productive members of society?
  • Ban the government and political entities from creating guilt and ethnic divisiveness among the citizenry by the use of “political correctness” and other methods?
  • Ban all ethnic or racial prefixes to describe an American?
  • Enforce Constitutional eligibility requirements for elective office. Enforce the Constitution in its entirety at all times?
  • Create a manufacturing and business dynamic? Initiate apprenticeship programs to build a new workforce. Reward all scientific, engineering, and medical academic excellence?
  • Ban all law enforcement and government service organizations from political activism and endorsements. They have their civil rights?
  • Institute a national service program to educate all under 21′s about the Constitution and American history?

These are just a few of the mandatory actions, listed randomly, which are necessary to restore America as a Christian, God-fearing, moral nation.  You will have many more to add to the list. In fact, there is so much to do – and undo, that it is going to take years of dedication and unwavering effort.

So what are your conclusions about post 2012 America if all goes well with the election? Any of the above? I am an octogenarian, and it occurred to me rather forcefully since January 2008 that no promise made by a political candidate or elected official in my lifetime in support of the legitimate population has ever been kept. Government has continued to expand, regulations have become more onerous and personal, taxes always increase, services always decrease, sloth and ineptitude pervade our society and our government, the quality of education has declined and become politically infiltrated. The infrastructure is in decay, costs for everything have risen except for our toys (ever wonder why?), bureaucracies defy the will of the people but keep getting elected…and on and on and on.

The answer to the question is simply not what you expect…it’s going to get worse! The America after 2012 will become almost unrecognizable. It’s going to be a harsh and unforgiving land of servitude and a lower standard of living. Population control will be instituted. Barometric identity cards will be issued and they will transmit data to the “authorities” 24/7. Illegal ethnic migrants will be in the majority and will determine the future of America in concert with our treasonous government.

America must be restored to the Constitutional population – by the Constitutional population. We must do what MUST be done. An immortal American once said…”Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death.”  This is pretty much our choice right now. This is our last chance to survive. If you disagree with me, please tell me why.

Oh, and if you agree with me, tell me how we’re going to do it.

As this commentary is being written, the latest runaround in the judicial flim-flam of “who lacks ‘standing’ to demand production of Barack Obama’s original Hawaiian birth certificate (if one actually exists)” has just taken place. According to a newspaper report, Hawaiian Judge Bert Ayabe has dismissed a suit filed by one Andy Martin, on the ground that Martin “does not have a direct and tangible interest in the vital statistic records being sought, namely the birth certificate of President Obama.”

Perhaps one may gauge the circumspection and even-handedness with which Ayabe approached the case by recalling that Barack Obama is not yet “the President of the United States,” only the ostensible “President elect” once removed (because he has been purportedly “elected” only by the voters, but not yet by the Electoral College as certified by the President of the Senate under the Twelfth Amendment). And the underlying issue in Martin’s suit is whether Obama is even constitutionally eligible to hold the Office of President. So Ayabe’s decision exhibits a rather strong undercurrent of question-begging and special pleading.

In a like vein, Ayabe ruled that Martin was not among the set of individuals to whom Hawaiian law grants a right to inspect birth certificates. Of course, the more important inquiry is whether the restraints Hawaiian law imposes generally on public inspection of the State’s records must yield to an implied cause of action under the Constitution of the United States for any American citizen to establish whether or not Barack Obama in particular is even “eligible to the Office of President” now that his status as a “natural born Citizen” has been (and is being repeatedly) challenged. [See Article II, Section 1, Clause 4 and Article VI, Clause 2]

Worse yet, Ayabe scored Martin for failing to prove that “irreparable harm will occur if the records are not provided.” Perhaps neither Martin nor Ayabe has read my previous article, “Obama Must Stand Up Now or Step Down,” which outlines only some of the more obvious “irreparable harm” that must ensue if an usurper seizes control of the Presidency. But one would hope that a “judge” might have some independent familiarity with the Constitution sufficient to lead him on his own to the correct conclusion. For, as that article shows, substantial “irreparable harm” from such usurpation can be established beyond peradventure simply by reading the Constitution.

Not satisfied with this blunder, Ayabe ruled that Martin had provided “insufficient evidence to indicate that the public interest supports” disclosure of the supposed birth certificate. “There is a reasonable belief that the public would rather preserve confidentiality of vital health records,” Ayabe held. Although that “belief” might be arguably “reasonable” in the general case (yet not very persuasive even there), it is patently, even childishly, ridiculous in this particular case, where only the complete disclosure of the record (if such record exists) can answer the question of Obama’s eligibility, on which America’s future political stability may rise or fall. Can there be any public interest whatsoever in the “confidentiality of [a single] vital health record” relating to a single individual when such continued “confidentiality” plausibly threatens this whole country’s well-being?!

So much for Martin’s lawsuit. It would be laughable if its result did not hammer another twisted judicial nail into America’s coffin. Martin’s suit, moreover, is not the last of its type that will be dismissed on purported “standing” grounds, because the judge-contrived rules of “standing” applicable to this situation are sufficiently illogical, non-scientific, and even anti-intellectual—that is, contrived from question-begging and ultimately undefinable, unverifiable, and unfalsifiable legalistic mumbo jumbo—that they can rationalize whatever result judges desire to reach, howsoever illogical, perverse, and even dangerous to the national interest it may be. And, particularly in this situation, judges will desperately desire to escape having to take upon themselves the responsibility for the political consequences—let alone the odium whipped up by Obama’s touts in the big media—that will flow from the courts’ declaring Obama ineligible for the Office of President. Which responsibility and vilification wily judges can craftily evade by denying that voters, electors, candidates, and various other would-be litigants have “standing” to challenge his eligibility. For then the judges can claim both that, on the one hand, they have no authority to declare Obama ineligible because no litigant has “standing” to demand such relief, and that, on the other hand, by dismissing the cases solely on “standing” grounds they have not declared him eligible, either. Perhaps when each judge publishes these rulings, the statue of Justice holding the sword and scales should be replaced in his courtroom with one of Pontius Pilate washing his hands.

Although this poltroonish judicial strategy has succeeded in some areas in the past, it will prove bootless, as well as myopic, in this case. The next steps in the process of selecting a President are: (i) for the Electoral College to vote, and then (ii) for Congress to count those votes. The Twelfth Amendment provides (in pertinent part) as follows:

The electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President * * * ; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President * * * and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, * * * and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed * * * to the President of the Senate;—The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;—The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice. * * *

The Amendment specifies no grounds, procedure, or standards on or by which any elector’s vote may be challenged for any cause, by either the Electors or Members of Congress. But Congress has enacted a statute that partially addresses this matter:

Congress shall be in session on the sixth day of January succeeding every meeting of the electors. The Senate and House of Representatives shall meet in the Hall of the House of Representatives at the hour of 1 o’clock in the afternoon on that day, and the President of the Senate shall be their presiding officer. Two tellers shall be previously appointed on the part of the Senate and two on the part of the House of Representatives, to whom shall be handed, as they are opened by the President of the Senate, all the certificates and papers purporting to be certificates of the electoral votes, which certificates and papers shall be opened, presented, and acted upon in the alphabetical order of the States * * * ; and said tellers, having then read the same in the presence and hearing of the two Houses, shall make a list of the votes as they shall appear from the said certificates; and the votes having been ascertained and counted * * *, the result of the same shall be delivered to the President of the Senate, who shall thereupon announce the state of the vote, which announcement shall be deemed a sufficient declaration of the persons, if any, elected President and Vice President of the United States, and, together with a list of the votes, be entered on the Journals of the two Houses. Upon such reading of any such certificate or paper, the President of the Senate shall call for objections, if any. Every objection shall be made in writing, and shall state clearly and concisely, and without argument, the ground thereof, and shall be signed by at least one Senator and one Member of the House of Representatives before the same shall be received. When all objections so made to any vote or paper from a State shall have been received and read, the Senate shall thereupon withdraw, and such objections shall be submitted to the Senate for its decision; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall, in like manner, submit such objections to the House of Representatives for its decision; and no electoral vote or votes from any State which shall have been regularly given by electors whose appointment has been lawfully certified * * * from which but one return has been received shall be rejected, but the two Houses concurrently may reject the vote or votes when they agree that such vote or votes have not been so regularly given by electors whose appointment has been so certified. * * * [Title 3, United States Code, Section 15 (emphasis added)]

Even if this legislation is itself a constitutional implementation of the Twelfth Amendment under the Necessary and Proper Clause (Article I, Section 8, Clause 18), it does not purport to provide for, let alone guarantee, a correct result:

First, without an objection “signed by at least one Senator and one Member of the House of Representatives” no inquiry at all can go forward. Yet the mere absence of an objection—particularly without any explanation—cannot preclude the possibility that an Elector’s vote ought to be the subject of an objection and may prove on examination to be objectionable. Indeed, in these times, the very absence of an objection may indicate only that “the good old boys” in Congress—Democrats certainly, and Republicans most likely, too—have “cut a deal” among themselves behind the scenes in order to suppress an investigation the inevitable and unavoidable results of which would demonstrate the utter bankruptcy, if not criminality, of the present electoral process—in that an individual possibly not “eligible to the Office of President” and his handlers may have managed to bamboozle, bribe, blackmail, or otherwise subvert, suborn, or silence both of the “two” major political parties, the big media, the pundits, and every public official with civil or criminal jurisdiction over elections throughout both the General Government and the States.

Second, although a correct result requires acomplete inquiry into an objection, with appropriate findings of fact and law supported by competent evidence, the statute merely requires “a decision” each from the Senate and the House of Representatives. On what basis and with what formality and content these “decision[s]” are to be made the statute does not specify. For instance, are the Senate and the House to hold hearings, to and at which witnesses will be subpoenaed and documents will be required to be produced for inspection and analysis? What rules of evidence will apply at these hearings? Who will have the ultimate burden of proof? What will be the standard of proof—a preponderance of the evidence, clear and convincing evidence, or evidence beyond a reasonable doubt? The queries are legion, the answers unknown.

Yet the Constitution demands that, if such an inquiry is held, it should arrive at the correct conclusion with sufficient evidence in support. After all, the question of Obama’s eligibility vel non is not within the discretion of Congress to skirt or to decide as its Members may deem politically or personally expedient. Even by unanimous vote, Congress cannot constitutionally dispense with the requirement that Obama must be “a natural born Citizen,” by simply assuming that he is such, or by accepting something other than what lawyers call “the best evidence” (in this case, his supposed original Hawaiian birth certificate, as opposed to some purported “certification of live birth” computer-generated only decades later).

Therefore, if no objection at all is made to any Elector’s vote for Obama—or if no objection to an Elector’s vote on the specific basis that Obama is not a “natural born Citizen” (and therefore the Elector cannot constitutionally vote for him) is allowed—or if such an objection is allowed, but no searching and complete inquiry, or no inquiry at all, is had—or if partisan Senators and Representatives jury rig “decision[s]” that whitewash Obama on the facts or the law—or some other gross irregularities appear in the process—then thereafter the matter cannot be said to have been settled to a constitutional sufficiency. Congress simply cannot “waive,” or simply flub, the Constitution’s eligibility requirement “to the Office of President” by inaction, or incompetent action, or collusive action

In sum, if the statute does not guarantee (within human competence) that a correct answer to the question be had, then it cannot be deemed to be the exclusive remedy in the premises if (as will be discussed below) a better remedy is available. Moreover, even if the statute is employed to hear and decide challenges to Obama’s eligibility, the resulting “decision[s]” must provide assurances to a moral certainty that the correct answer has indeed been obtained in both fact and law—otherwise, further inquiry needs to be had in other fora. For the consequences of an incorrect answer on the ultimate issue, later exposed as such, are far too serious to allow for any lesser degree of surety. Never were the stakes from a game of “truth or consequences” higher than they are now.

Assume, however, that no inquiry, or only a perfunctory inquiry, or only an obviously tainted inquiry takes place at the stage of counting the Electors’ votes. Is the issue then forever foreclosed? Not at all. For a extensive class of litigants who absolutely do have “standing” to challenge Obama’s eligibility will come into existence, and demand relief as a matter of undeniable constitutional right and practical necessity, as soon as Obama’s Department of Justice attempts to enforce through criminal prosecutions some of the controversial legislation that the new Congress will enact and Obama will sign—such as statutes aimed at stripping common Americans of the firearms to which (in Obama’s derisive terminology) they “cling.”

For example, in a criminal prosecution under a new statute that reinstates the Clinton “assault-weapons ban” (or some equally obnoxious affront to Article I, Section 8, Clauses 15 and 16 and the Second Amendment), the defendant will undeniably have “standing” to challenge the indictment on the grounds that no statute imposing such a ban even exists, because the original “Bill which * * * passed the House of Representatives and the Senate” was never “presented to the President of the United States”, and therefore could never “become a Law,” inasmuch as the supposed “President,” Barack Obama, being constitutionally ineligible for that office, was then and remains thereafter nothing but an usurper. [See Article I, Section 7, Clause 2 and Article II, Section 1, 4]

Plainly, a criminal trial arising under a supposed law of the United States is a “Case” to which “the judicial Power [of the United States] shall extend”; and the defense as well will raise a specific issue “arising under th[e] Constitution, [and] the Laws of the United States.” [Article III, Section 2, Clause 1] The defendant will be suffering serious “injury in fact:” namely, a criminal indictment and a compulsory trial, with the possibility of a conviction, imprisonment, and, if the infraction is called a “felony,” the forfeiture of many civil rights even after his release from incarceration. The prosecutor on one side and the defendant on the other will be adversaries espousing diametrically opposed and irreconcilable positions—so the “Case” cannot be deemed in any way collusive. The purported statute’s invalidity by virtue of its legal nonexistence will be “ripe” for decision, because the statute is the basis for the indictment, and its invalidity the foundation of the defense to the charge. And, unless and until the prosecutor importunes the court to dismiss the indictment with prejudice, the issue of the putative statute’s legal nonexistence and inapplicability to the defendant will be anything but moot.

In addition, the entire matter certainly does not raise a nonjusticiable “political question.” As Chief Justice John Marshall explained, “[t]he province of the court is, solely, to decide on the rights of individuals, not to inquire how the executive, or executive officers, perform duties in which they have a discretion. Questions in their nature political, or which are, by the constitution and laws, submitted to the executive can never be made in this court.” [Marbury v. Madison, 5 U.S. (1 Cranch) 137, 170 (1803)] That definition excludes the hypothetical criminal case under consideration here:

First, “the rights of individuals” will most assuredly and palpably be involved: namely, the right not to be deprived of liberty without due process of law. [Amendment V]

Second, the question at issue will not be “political,” in the sense that it asks “how the executive, or executive officers perform duties in which they have a discretion.” Rather, the question will be whether Obama is or even could be “the executive” at all. Self-evidently, Barack Obama (or anyone else, for that matter) can enjoy no “discretion” to pretend to be the President if he is not even eligible for that office in the first place.

Third, the question at issue will not have been “by the constitution and laws, submitted to the executive.” It is not for Obama (or anyone else in his position) unilaterally to determine that he is eligible for the Office of President, with everyone else in the country required to take his unsubstantiated word for it. “[T]he constitution and laws” do not extend to an usurper a license to perpetuate his usurpation simply by denying—indeed, falsely denying—that he is such. And if Obama honestly believes that he can prove his eligibility to We the People’s reasonable satisfaction, the Constitution actually requires him to do so when challenged: For the President must “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” [Article II, Section 3] “Th[e] Constitution * * * shall be the supreme Law of the Land.” [Article VI, Clause 2] The Constitution declares that “[n]o Person except a natural born Citizen * * * shall be eligible to the Office of President.” [Article II, Section 1, Clause 4] And if the latter provision is to “be faithfully executed” by Obama as “President,” and the objective evidence necessary for that execution is in Obama’s own hands or subject to his control, then Obama, as the “President” whom he claims to be, must bring forth that evidencesine die in order to fulfill the very duty that he has taken an “Oath or Affirmation” to “faithfully execute.” [Article II, Section 1, Clause 7]

Fourth, (as explained above) the Twelfth Amendment and the relevant Congressional statute purporting to implement it do not render the question closed (and therefore arguably “political”)—unless Congress has actually performed a constitutionally sufficient inquiry, based upon all of the available evidence, that is at least as searching, thorough, and politically neutral as might be conducted in a proper court of law by actual adversaries.

Fifth, notwithstanding whatever may have happened when the Electors’ votes were counted, thereafter the political branches of the General Government have affirmatively committed this issue to the final determination of the courts. The hypothetical “assault-weapons” statute was enacted by Congress and signed by Obama, with the intention that it be enforced through criminal prosecutions. The statute’s enforcement is actually before the court, at the insistence of the Legislative and Executive Branches. The statute’s constitutionality is being challenged by an individual directly injured through its application to him. “It is emphatically the province and duty of the judicial department to say what the law is.” [Marbury v. Madison, 5 U.S. (1 Cranch) 137, 178 (1803)] And if there is no true “President”, because Obama is not “eligible to the Office of President”, then the statute is not simply “unconstitutional” but even is nonexistent, and the indictment an absolute nullity.

Sixth, the question of whether Obama is “eligible to the Office of President” is eminently within the jurisdiction, competence, experience, and workaday procedures of the judiciary to answer. Courts are thoroughly familiar with how to subpoena witnesses, compel the production of documents, establish the authenticity of documents through objective forensic analyses and the testimony of disinterested experts, and otherwise ascertain facts through application of the rules of evidence in adversarial litigation. Conversely, this is not what ordinary voters or Electors do, or are competent to do. And if it may be what the Constitution authorizes Congress to do in some circumstances, as hypothesized in this situation Congress has not done and will not do so to a constitutionally sufficient degree.

Moreover, Congress cannot perform a simulacrum of this procedure by “remov[ing Obama] from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” [Article II, Section IV] For, if he is not “eligible to the Office of President” at all, then Obama is not “the President,” and therefore cannot be removed from an office that he does not, and cannot, even occupy—and has never occupied. In addition, even if “Impeachment” of a plain usurper were constitutionally possible, Congress could not “waive” its duty in that regard, do nothing, and collude with the pretender in order to enable him to continue his imposture indefinitely.

Seventh, the defendant in this hypothetical criminal prosecution can invoke the Sixth Amendment: namely, “In all criminal prosecutions the accused shall enjoy the right * * * to have compulsory process for obtaining Witnesses in his favor * * * .” Presumably, a properly represented defendant would subpoena Obama himself as the indispensable witness, requiring him to bring into court whatever records were in his possession or subject to his control that in any way evidenced, related to, or referred to the time, place, and circumstances of his birth, or to his citizenship, application for citizenship, renunciation of citizenship, or oath of allegiance in or to any country. This would include the original of his supposed Hawaiian birth certificate; every subsequent Hawaiian “certification of live birth” or like document created by public authorities; every other “birth certificate” or equivalent document whenever, wherever, and by whomever generated in the name of “Barack Obama” or any of his several other names; every document submitted to an educational institution that contained information or representations concerning his place of birth or citizenship; and so on. In the interest of expediting the process, the custodians of records in Hawaii would also be subpoenaed to testify and to produce all relevant documents subject to their control. To be sure, Obama himself might invoke a privilege against self-incrimination under the Fifth Amendment as the grounds for refusing to testify or to disgorge inculpatory papers. But custodians of public records in Hawaii or elsewhere throughout the United States have no such privilege. And no Hawaiian or other law of the States or the General Government purporting to make those records “confidential” can frustrate the Sixth Amendment.

So much for the legalities of the situation. Personally, I find this whole controversy—although it is of great constitutional significance—to be a monumental distraction from what is desperately needed for this country’s security. The problems now confronting America cannot be solved simply by ensconcing in the President’s chair one charismatic “Leader” as opposed to another—be he Barack Obama or the Archangel Michael (neither of whom, absent a proper birth certificate, is “eligible to the Office of President”). For the Leader Principle at the very top demands the Follower Principle all the way down to the bottom. And both are anathema and inimical to the Constitution of the United States—especially the latter, because a nation of self-governing individuals cannot be a nation of blind, bleating followers.

Intoxication with the Leader Principle over many decades has led America, staggering and slipping on her own political vomit, to this sorry pass. Even more than the drinkers, though, the purveyors of the political liquor are now going to pay the price with an industrial-strength hangover. They have, as it were, “bet the farm” on Obama—either oblivious to the problem that he may not be “eligible to the Office of President” at all, or confident that they are so powerful (and the American people such dopes, dupes, and cowards) that nothing will be done even if the truth should come out. But no one is that powerful. So, however this case turns out, the Establishment will suffer a reverse from which it likely can never recover.

If the courts finally do their duty, and Obama is exposed as an usurper, the legitimacy of the rest of the political system will be eviscerated (and the legitimacy of even the courts will be in doubt, because their intervention was so reluctant and tardy). Whereas, if the courts cover up the matter in case after case on spurious grounds, incarcerating one after another American on the trumped-up charges of an usurper—and they will have to keep up the pretense in case after case if the whole house of cards is not to collapse—the legitimacy of the entire political system will utterly evaporate. (To be sure, Obama’s Department of Justice could refrain from prosecuting anyone under new statutes; but then all of that legislation would become unenforceable.) In any case, the only institutions of government that will escape condemnation will be “the Militia of the several States”, because they will still not be in existence (unless Americans show a great deal more enthusiasm for the idea of revitalizing the Militia than they have to date) and therefore cannot be discredited.

What will be the necessary consequence of the exposure of America’s political system as illegitimate in its entirety? Power will replace law. As Mao Tse-tung opined, political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. And, with an usurper posing as “President,” someday soon someone will prove that aphorism true here.

One scenario will suffice: On some Monday not so far in the future, “President” Obama meets with the Joint Chiefs of Staff to announce that “Operation Sandblaster,” for a massive nuclear attack on Iran’s supposed “weapons of mass destruction,” will be launched on the coming Friday. The Joint Chiefs remonstrate, pointing out that such aggression will trigger retaliation by Russia and China, almost surely plunging the whole world into a thermonuclear World War III. “President” Obama, however, is adamant, and instructs the Joint Chiefs to have the necessary orders for “Sandblaster”—or their resignations—on his desk by Wednesday morning. Knowing that, if they resign, “President” Obama will simply appoint some unprincipled uniformed “yes men” to carry out his plan, the Joint Chiefs immediately order covert break-ins around the country to obtain his original birth certificate and other material evidence relating to his ineligibility for the Office of President. With these documents in hand, on Wednesday morning, accompanied by a contingent of heavily armed Marines, the Joint Chiefs confront “President” Obama with the evidence, arrest him as an usurper and all the Members of Congress as his co-conspirators, and appoint themselves a Military Commission to function as a “caretaker government” during the ensuing “national emergency.”

So, at that point, because the courts did not act, and Congress did not act, and We the People did not act, the Praetorians will see fit to act. And even if the Military Commission eventually returns power to civilians, the precedent will be set in steel for “the Latin American solution”—government by junta. That, surely, would be “change we can believe in”—with a capital “C.”

Not likely? If not, why not? If one man can get away with usurping the Presidency of the United States, even as the rest of the General Government, the States, and the people look the other way while mouthing legalistic mumbo jumbo to rationalize their inaction, why cannot a few men—backed up by the Armed Forces—imagine themselves justified in overthrowing and supplanting him in order to forefend a national calamity? Why cannot the bitter weeds of the fall of the Roman Republic be transplanted from the banks of the Tiber to the shores of the Potomac when the conditions conducive to their growth appear? No patriot—no reasonable American of any political persuasion—may want this to happen. But if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

So, what now? The simple solution, if Barack Obama believes that he truly is “eligible to the Office of President,” is for him to repair to Hawaii in a burst of publicity and make his original birth certificate available for examination by each and every unbiased forensic document analyst who cares to scrutinize it. And if, on the other hand, he already knows that he is ineligible, he should step aside gracefully. Now, before it is too late.

He has no other choice, because events will give him none. When one walks in the cold shadow of Nemesis, hubris is not enough of a cloak.

Lord God, how I long for the day when American’s are filled with knowledge of their history, and demand a new method of selecting candidates for office, such as them previously having published their knowledge and conception of a free republic like Edwin Vieira, Jr. so all who can read would have the ability to judge the candidates intelligence, intentions, and competence, and be able to  hold said candidate to his published works.

“Intoxication with the Leader Principle over many decades has led America, staggering and slipping on her own political vomit, to this sorry pass.”

FRED ON WAR AND THE FREE WILL OF POOL BALLS – Oo-rah

12/24/2011

I read frequently among the lesserly neuronal of the supposed honor of soldiers, of the military virtues of courage, loyalty, and uprightness–that in an age of moral decomposition only the military adhere to principles, and that our troops in places like Afghanistan nobly make sacrifices to preserve our freedoms and democracy. Is not all of this nonsnese?

Honor? A soldier is just a nationally-certified hit-man, perfectly amoral. When he joins the military he agrees to kill anyone he is told to kill, regardless of whether he has heard of the country in which he will kill them or whether the residents pose any threat to him or his. How is this honorable? It is cause for lifelong shame.

It is curious that so many soldiers think that they are Christians. Christianity is incompatible with military service, if any Christianity is meant that Christ would have regarded with other than repugnance.

The explanation of course lies in the soldier’s moral compartmentation. Within his own tribe or pack, these usually being denominated “countries,” he is the soul of moral propriety—doesn’t knock over convenience stores, kick his dog, or beat his children; speaks courteously, observes personal hygiene, and works tirelessly for the public good in the event of natural disasters. A steely gaze with little behind it and a firm handshake amplify the appearance of probity.

In conflict with foreigners, he will burn, bomb, rape and torture indiscriminately. His is the behavior of feral dogs, which humans closely resemble.

Sacrifice? GIs do not make sacrifices. They are sacrificed, sacrificed for big egos, big contracts, for the shareholders of military industries, for pasty patriots in salons who never wore boots. They fight not for love of country but to stay alive, and from fear of the pusnishments meted out to deserters. If you doubt this, tell the men in Afghanistan that they may come home on the next plane without penalty, and see how many stay. Troops are as manipulated as roosters in a cock fight, forced to choose between combat and the pot.

Always, to understand the bloody absurdity of the military, bear in mind the primitive, overriding instinct of mankind to form packs and fight other packs. It is the only drive that can at times take precedcnce ovver sex. Thus we have tribes, football teams, Crips and Bloods, religious wars, rabid political parties, and patriotism, this latter being far the worst. Men in particular live primed to form martial herds and rush mindlessly upon other herds, waving slogans, arguments, forty-yard passes from scrimmage, swords, naval artillery, or white phosphorous. Dogs. Ants. Soldiers. Humanity.

Nowadays a high moral pretext for war will be contrived, embodying saccharine goodness and nauseous piety. We kill them to make them free, butcher their families because they must be democratic. The race has accumlated just enough fragile decency to want a noble pretext before burning children. Yet the pack’s hostility to outsiders remains the primary drive behind wars, with reasons hung on later like Christmas ornaments.

Most profoundly, wars are not about anything. They are just wars. Aggression trumps substance. Note that in politics, the content of debate often matters less than the visceral pleasure of antipathy as, for example, when greens and capitalists exchange irrational insults like savages working themselves up for battle. The posturing is just foreplay.

Armies, and nations, have to have enemies. Since our insticnts seem wired more for single combat, for bar fights more than for sprawling industrial wars, soldiers invariably seek the atavistic adrenal satisfactions of a quick and smashing victory. They are almost always wildly optimistic about the likely outcome. Thus the belief in decisivie battles, cakewalks and such, even when experience counsels that there won’t be one. The military wants to fall upon the bastards, any bastards, and give them what for, to settle things once and for all in brutal, exhilarating, simple combat. Agincourt, Picket’s charge, Themistocles in the Saronic Gulf, that sort of thing.

If you don’t think that exhiloaration is a factor in military affairs, you have never watched night flight ops with a carrier battle group, Tomcats trapping ker-wham! rising howl of huge engines, thirty-knot wind whipping across the flight deck, smell of burnt kerosene, the focused dance of men cooperating in something complex and dangerous in the wilds of the Pacific. It is a drug. This is much of why we have wars.

And it is why the Pentagon is repeatedly surprised when after the swoosh and scream of the jets over Kabul, or Quang Tri, or Baghdad, angry men with rifles creep from their holes and begin killing and there comes a losing uncomprehended disaster of ten years. Practicality matters less than the spirit of the thing.

Armies of the First World have made this hormonal miscalculation time and again: The French in Vietnam, the Americans in Vietnam, the Russians in Afghanistan, the French in Algeria, the Israelis in Lebanon, the Americans in Iraq, the Americans in Afghanistan. Militaries don’t learn. They can’t.

They can’t learn because soldiering is directed as much at maintaining a desired mental state as at practicality. A thick layer of romance has always lain over matters martial. The rush of a low-level pop-and-drop bombing run in an F16, the legions wintering on the Rhine-Danube line, pennants, charges, the poetry and intensity of it all. “Oo-rah!” “Death from Above!” “The most dangerous thing in the world is a Marine with his rifle.” “Crush their skulls and eat their faces.” Feel-good slogans, suitable for children of eleven..

One thinks of the excitement of a high-school basketball game, bright lights, tense expectancy, cheerleaders twirling and emittting exhortations to invincibility. “Hey, hey, whaddya say, let’s get that ball and go!” “Ricky, Ricky, he’s our man! If he can’t do it, nobody can!” Oo-rah.

Those who train and arm the soldiers are less delusional. Behind the curtains the butcher’s trade is an ugly one. In my days of covering the military, I remember efforts to invent blood-red plastic shrapnel that would not show up on x-rays, to make it difficult for the enemy to save his wounded. A tac-nuke manual spoke of how to keep soldiers fighting after being lethally irradiate by a nuclear explosion. Shortly they will die, puking and stumbling, but how does one get a bit more combat out of them? This manual used the evocative phrase, “terrain alteration.”

While soldiers quickly come to hate their assigned enemies, as do fighting cocks, they also know that what they are doing will not play well back home. The entrail-dripping gut-shot, a woman keening over a mound of red mush that is no longer precisely her child—these could interfere with the flow of contracts. Consequently militaries try furiously to suppress photographs of those they torture and mutilate, to package routine atrocities as “isolated incidents,” to keep pictures of garishly altered soldiers off the pages of newspapers. The extreme sensitivity suggests moral uneasiness, oo-rah or not. During Vietnam, the damning photos poured out. The controlled press of today poses no similar problem.

If this is honor, I’ll pass. Oo.rah.

Merry Christmas Suckers…

Posted by: The Publisher on: December 22 2011 • Categorized in: Point Blank

CHANGES ARE COMING…

The following was originally published on Christmas Day, 2010. How much has changed in a year?

1. The Post Office. Get ready to imagine a world without the post office. They are so deeply in financial trouble that there is probably noway to sustain it long term. Email, Fed Ex, and UPS have just about wiped out the minimum revenue needed to keep the post office alive. Most of your mail every day is junk mail and bills.

2. The Check. Britain is already laying the groundwork to do away with checks by 2018. It costs the financial system billions of dollars a year to process checks. Plastic cards and online transactions will lead to the eventual demise of the check. This plays right into the death of the post office. If you never paid your bills by mail and never received them by mail, the post office would absolutely go out of business.

3. The Newspaper. The younger generation simply doesn’t read the newspaper. They certainly don’t subscribe to a daily delivered print edition. That may go the way of the milkman and the laundry man. As for reading the paper online, get ready to pay for it. The rise in mobile Internet devices and e-readers has caused all the newspaper and magazine publishers to form an alliance. They have met with Apple, Amazon, and the major cell phone companies to develop a model for paid subscription services.

4. The Book. You say you will never give up the physical book that you hold in your hand and turn the literal pages. I said the same thing about downloading music from iTunes. I wanted my hard copy CD. But I quickly changed my mind when I discovered that I could get albums for half the price without ever leaving home to get the latest music. The same thing will happen with books. You can browse a bookstore online and even read a preview chapter before you buy. And the price is less than half that of a real book. And think of the convenience! Once you start flicking your fingers on the screen instead of the book, you find that you are lost in the story, can’t wait to see what happens next, and you forget that you’re holding a gadget instead of a book.

5. The Land Line Telephone. Unless you have a large family and make a lot of local calls, you don’t need it anymore. Most people keep it simply because they’ve always had it. But you are paying double charges for that extra service. All the cell phone companies will let you call customers using the same cell provider for no charge against your minutes .

6. Music. This is one of the saddest parts of the change story. The music industry is dying a slow death. Not just because of illegal downloading. It’s the lack of innovative new music being given a chance to get to the people who would like to hear it. Greed and corruption is the problem. The record labels and the radio conglomerates are simply self-destructing. Over 40% of the music purchased today is “catalog items,” meaning traditional music that the public is familiar with. Older established artists. This is also true on the live concert circuit. To explore this fascinating and disturbing topic further, check out the book, “Appetite for Self-Destruction” by Steve Knopper, and the video documentary, “Before the Music Dies.”

7. Television. Revenues to the networks are down dramatically. Not just because of the economy. People are watching TV and movies streamed from their computers. And they’re playing games and doing lots of other things that take up the time that used to be spent watching TV. Prime time shows have degenerated down to lower than the lowest common denominator. Cable rates are skyrocketing and commercials run about every 4 minutes and 30 seconds. I say good riddance to most of it. It’s time for the cable companies to be put out of our misery. Let the people choose what they want to watch online and through Netflix.

8. The “Things” That You Own. Many of the very possessions that we used to own are still in our lives, but we may not actually own them in the future. They may simply reside in “the cloud.” Today your computer has a hard drive and you store your pictures, music, movies, and documents. Your software is on a CD or DVD, and you can always re-install it if need be. But all of that is changing. Apple, Microsoft, and Google are all finishing up their latest “cloud services.” That means that when you turn on a computer, the Internet will be built into the operating system. So, Windows, Google, and the Mac OS will be tied straight into the Internet. If you click an icon, it will open something in the Internet cloud. If you save something, it will be saved to the cloud. And you may pay a monthly subscription fee to the cloud provider.
In this virtual world, you can access your music or your books, or your whatever from any laptop or handheld device. That’s the good news. But, will you actually own any of this “stuff” or will it all be able to disappear at any moment in a big “Poof?” Will most of the things in our lives be disposable and whimsical? It makes you want to run to the closet and pull out that photo album, grab a book from the shelf, or open up a CD case and pull out the insert.

9. Privacy. If there ever was a concept that we can look back on nostalgically, it would be privacy. That’s gone. It’s been gone for a long time anyway. There are cameras on the street, in most of the buildings, and even built into your computer and cell phone. But you can be sure that 24/7, “They” know who you are and where you are, right down to the GPS coordinates, and the Google Street View. If you buy something, your habit is put into a zillion profiles, and your ads will change to reflect those habits. And “They” will try to get you to buy something else. Again and again.
All we will have that can’t be changed are Memories.

10. Facts About The Deindustrialization Of America That Will Blow Your Mind
The United States is rapidly becoming the very first “post-industrial” nation on the globe. All great economic empires eventually become fat and lazy and squander the great wealth that their forefathers have left them, but the pace at which America is accomplishing this is absolutely amazing. It was America that was at the forefront of the industrial revolution. It was America that showed the world how to mass produce everything from automobiles to televisions to airplanes. It was the great American manufacturing base that crushed Germany and Japan in World War II.

The Return of Debtor’s Prisons

The Return of Debtor’s Prisons: Thousands of Americans Jailed for Not Paying Their Bills

Tuesday 13 December 2011

by: Marie Diamond, ThinkProgress | Report

Federal imprisonment for unpaid debt has been illegal in the U.S. since 1833. It’s a practice people associate more with the age of Dickens than modern-day America. But as more Americans struggle to pay their bills in the wake of the recession, collection agencies are using harsher methods to get their money, ushering in the return of debtor’s prisons.

NPR reports that it’s becoming increasingly common for people to serve jail time as a result of their debt. Because of “sloppy, incomplete or even false documentation,” many borrowers facing jail time don’t even know they’re being sued by creditors:

Take, for example, what happened to Robin Sanders in Illinois. She was driving home when an officer pulled her over for having a loud muffler. But instead of sending her off with a warning, the officer arrested Sanders, and she was taken right to jail.

“That’s when I found out [that] I had a warrant for failure to appear in Macoupin County. And I didn’t know what it was about.” Sanders owed $730 on a medical bill. She says she didn’t even know a collection agency had filed a lawsuit against her. [...]

A company will often sell off its debt to a collection agency, generally called a creditor. That creditor files a lawsuit against the debtor requiring a court appearance. A notice to appear in court is supposed to be given to the debtor. If they fail to show up, a warrant is issued for their arrest.

More than a third of all states now allow borrowers who don’t pay their bills to be jailed, even when debtor’s prisons have been explicitly banned by state constitutions. A report by the American Civil Liberties Union found that people were imprisoned even when the cost of doing so exceeded the amount of debt they owed.

Sean Matthews, a homeless New Orleans construction worker, was incarcerated for five months for $498 of legal debt, while his jail time cost the city six times that much. Some debtors are even forced to pay for their jail time themselves, adding to their financial troubles.

Stories of surprise arrests for unpaid debt have been reported in states including Indiana, Tennessee and Washington. In Kansas City, one man ended up in jail after missing only a furniture payment. The Federal Trade Commission received more than140,000 complaints related to debt collection in 2010, and they’ve taken 10 debt collection agencies to court for their practices in the past three years.

Since the start of 2010, judges have signed off on more than 5,000 arrest warrants since in nine counties alone. Beverly Yang, a legal aid attorney, says many debtor’s — and judges —don’t know debtor’s rights, which results in the accused being intimidated into a pay agreement. She’s seen judges interrogate debtors about why they can’t pay more and whether they are trying hard enough to find a job.

Yang says some collection agencies are only too eager to useneedlessly harsh tactics. “Whatever the creditors or the creditors’ attorneys can do to leverage some kind of payment, it will help their profits enormously because they have, literally, millions of these.” Debt collection is a lucrative business — the industry is set to grow 26 percent in the next three years.

The Iranian news agency IRNA reported today that a U.S. missile hit an oil depot in the southwest village of Abadan on Wednesday. IRNA said British and American jets had entered Iranian airspace several times.

In addition to the oil depot attack, two rockets reportedly hit the village of Manyuhi near the border of Iraq’s al-Faw Peninsula near the Persian Gulf and the Iraqi city of Basra.

“In the border city of Arvand-Kenar, the invading American and British airplanes violated the airspace of the Islamic Republic of Iran three times,” a commander told the Islamic Republic News Agency.

The governor of Abadan told IRNA that three people, including a guard at the oil depot, had been released from hospital after receiving treatment, reports Mail Online.

No details were released on damage to the oil depot.

On December 12, Iran said its new Abadan refinery will raise its daily output of high-octane gasolineby almost 12,600 barrels by January 20, 2012. “Gasoline making and upgrading plans of Abadan oil refinery are going on respectively with 800 million and 3 billion dollars investment,” the Iranian Fars New Agency reported on December 13.

During the Republican debates in November, Newt Gingrich said he would bomb Iran “as a last resort and with a goal of bringing about the downfall of the government.”

In June, the former Speaker of the House said that the U.S. should “sabotage” Iran’s oil and gas infrastructure as part of its efforts to bring down the government. Gingrich said the U.S. should “use covert operations … to create a gasoline-led crisis to try and replace the regime.”

In early December, Iran warned that any attempt to cut its oil production would more than double crude prices with cataclysmic result on a battered global economy.

“As soon as such an issue is raised seriously the oil price would soar to above $250 a barrel,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said in a newspaper interview

“US military ready to engage in a conflict with Iran”

America’s most senior military official has indicated that the country is ready to engage in a conflict with Iran, if President Barack Obama were to give the signal.

Tensions have been growing in the region following international condemnation over Tehran’s growing nuclear ambitions.

Last month, Britain’s ambassador to Iran was expelled from the country following attacks on the British Embassy. The US is also involved in a standoff over a downed spy drone, which President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has refused to return despite America’s requests.

General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff, said that the US military had reached a point where they were ready to execute force against Iran if necessary.

In an interview with US media in Afghanistan he said: “We are examining a range of options. I’m satisfied that the options that we are developing are evolving to a point that they would be executable if necessary.”

His comments come just days after Leon Panetta, US secretary of defence, said “no options were off the table” in stopping Iran develop a nuclear weapon.

Gen Dempsey said he had been quietly leading behind the scenes preparations for an attack against Tehran but said a war with the nation would be a “tragedy”.

“My biggest worry is that it may miscalculate our resolve. Any miscalculation could mean that we are drawn into conflict and that would be a tragedy for the region and the world,” he said.

Asked whether the US military is collecting information on the Middle Eastern nation via spy drones, Gen Dempsey said it would be “imprudent” for them not to attempt to find out what they were doing but stopped short of saying they had used unmanned aircraft.

“If you are asking are we gathering intelligence against Iran in a variety of means, the answer is of course,” he said. “It would be imprudent of us not to understand what a nation which has declared itself an adversary of the United States is doing.”

Gen Dempsey said the US is collaborating with Israel in its intelligence gathering but reiterated that there are no guarantees the Israelis would inform the US before launching an attack.

“We are trying to establish some confidence on the part of the Israelis that we recognise their concerns and are collaborating with them on addressing them,” he said.

Leon Panetta, the secretary of defence, said this week that the US was prepared to step in to prevent Tehran realising its nuclear ambitions. He estimated that the country was only a year away from reaching its goal.

“The United States does not want Iran to develop a nuclear weapon,” he said. “That is a red line for us and that is a red line for the Israelis. If we have to do it we will do it. If they proceed and we get intelligence that they are proceeding in developing a nuclear weapon then we will take whatever steps necessary to stop them. There are no options that are off the table.”

If Iran were to gain a nuclear weapon, it could trigger a nuclear arms race in the Middle East with officials in Saudi Arabia already saying they will look towards developing nuclear capabilities if the Iranians arm themselves.

Further evidence of US reconnaissance missions in the region include the indictment of several alleged CIA spies.

In May this year, Iran’s intelligence ministry announced the arrest of 30 CIA “spies” it claimed were conducting sabotage missions.

Another 15 alleged US-Israeli spies were indicted earlier this month and this week Iranian state television showed clips of ex-US Marine Amir Hekmati allegedly confessing to espionage.

Earlier this month, the EU agreed to impose new sanctions against 180 officials in Tehran in an attempt to curtail the nation’s nuclear programme. EU foreign ministers also said they were looking at additional measures to impose on Tehran’s energy sector

End of Nations: “Canada the US and the Security Perimeter”

American President Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Harper have unveiled a new border security agreement that has received scant attention in the American media. However, far from being a new arrangement, what this accord represents is only the latest in a chain of usurpations of national sovereignty.

Find out more about the path toward the North American Union on this week’s GRTV Backgrounder.

TRANSCRIPT AND SOURCES: http://www.corbettreport.com/?p=3502

When Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and US President Barack Obama announced the much-anticipated border agreement between the two countries at a press conference in Washington last week, those mainstream media outlets that bothered to cover the story at all compensated for the lack of details about what specifically is going to be accomplished by this accord by focusing on issues of no practical significance.

The Globe and Mail, for example, ran an entire article about how Harper and Obama’s personal “friendship” allegedly effected the deal, which was in reality and admittedly struck by bureaucrats in months of closed-door negotiations.

A variety of trade magazines and corporate websites released vague laudatory statements about the “streamlining” of the border.

But the story itself, which generated few headlines at all in the American media, was not about what specifically will change at the border so much as the border is increasingly being redefined as just one part of a broader security perimeter that in fact encompasses both the US and Canada.

The agreement in fact comprises two so-called “action plans,” one entitled Beyond The Border and the other the Regulatory Cooperation Council. The former plan focuses on border security with the explicit aim of creating a security perimeter that encompasses both countries. The latter is meant to harmonize regulations for business, facilitating cross-border trade.

The security agreement uses the threat of terrorism, crime and health securities to announce an increasing merger of the two countries’ border security, including an integrated entry-exit system that will involve full sharing of individuals’ biometric details between the two governments by 2014 and even the creation of integrated cross-border law enforcement teams with authority to collect intelligence and conduct criminal investigations on either side of the border.

The regulatory plan, meanwhile, aims to standardize agricultural regulations on such items as maximum pesticide residue limits as well as develop standards and regulations for potential future products and industries like nanotechnology.

Although the plans detail certain steps that can be or are being taken, the majority of the information is about agreed-upon shared values and the possibility of cooperation.

In light of the relative paucity of detail about these “action plans,” media outlets chose to illustrate the general points of the agreement with seemingly random examples, such as this one about breakfast cereals.

Keen-eyed observers of this trivial example of the effects might have noted a striking similarity to the way that Prime Minister Harper tried to deflect criticism of the Security and Prosperity Partnership agreement that sought to merge the governments, security forces and regulatory framework of the US, Mexico and Canada, back in 2007 by talking about jellybean regulations.

On one level, reducing these agreements to regulations on cereals and jelly beans marginalizes the legitimate criticism and fears about the erosion of national sovereignty implicit in these talks. It also serves to keep the public disinterested in the issues by painting them as dry and unimportant talks about bureaucratic affairs.

What this similarity in rhetoric unwittingly reveals, however, is how this latest agreement is in fact nothing new, and can only be properly understood as the latest point in a continuing process of merging the bureaucratic, regulatory and military functions of Canada and the US that has in fact been taking place for a decade.

In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, the two countries began work on reshaping the nature of the world’s longest undefended border. This resulted in the Canada-US Smart Border Declaration, an agreement signed in December 2001 that contained much of the same rhetoric as the recent agreement, including vows to coordinate security and law enforcement efforts in the name of facilitating the flow of people and goods between Canada and the States.

This led into the Security and Prosperity Partnership, a trilateral framework between the governments of the US, Canada and Mexico that began a process of regulatory integration. Formally launched in 2005, the SPP quickly caught the attention of the public on both sides of the border, and as freedom of information requests shed more light on the process, including the almost total domination of the partnership in closed-door meetings by big business, the SPP’s annual summit quickly became a flashpoint for political activism.

In the light of public scrutiny, the SPP was shelved in 2009, but many of its initiatives and recommendations continue on behind the scenes. SPP documents, for example, show how Canada’s controversial no-fly list was in fact part of a trilateral agreement, with the 2006 report to leaders in fact mandating the program’s June 2007 launch date.

Meanwhile, the military merger of Canada and the US has proceeded in its own series of mutual agreements, beginning with the creation of NORTHCOM, the United States Northern Command, in 2002, which charged the US military with the protection of the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Mexico and Canada.

In February of 2008, the Canadian and American militaries signed an agreement allowing troops of either country to cross the border and carry out operations in the other country in the event of an emergency, such as civil unrest.

In 2010, the two countries signed the shiprider agreement, allowing the operation of specially designated vessels to patrol the shared waterways of the two countries by joint crew, consisting of both Canadian and American law enforcement. This agreement is cited in the new border proposal as an example of how cross-border policing can be implemented.

Now, with increasing “cooperation” between cross-border law enforcement, Canadians will be expected to allow American officials to pursue their investigations of suspected criminals on Canadian soil. And the process of harmonization means that Canada may even be expected to allow the use of drone surveillance, an idea presently being used by the US to patrol the Canadian border and even to pursue criminal investigations of American citizens far away from the border.

Although there are many individual aspects of this latest accord that are worrying, from the militarization of the border to the harmonization of regulatory frameworks to allow for the lowest common denominator in food standards and other areas, to the increasing sharing of information about citizens between the two countries, perhaps the most worrying aspect is the project itself. As many have warned, these seemingly bland border proposals, a story so dull that it has barely been covered at all by the American press, may in fact be used to slip in a North American Union through the gradual merging of the two countries’ bureaucratic systems.

The most insidious part of this process is that it is not subject to legislative oversight of any kind, and is taking place in behind-the-scenes discussions between high-level bureaucrats outside of the glare of public scrutiny, a point that is readily conceded by the proposals’ proponents.

Last week I had the chance to talk to Paul Hellyer, the former deputy Prime Minister of Canada, about this agreement, and whether the border security threat that the US is using to justify the process is in fact a ploy to obscure an underlying agenda, the drive to merge Canada and US in a de facto union.

Regardless of whether this particular agreement bears fruit for those seeking to bring the two countries into a closer union, or whether it is just another waypoint on the road of a much longer and more detailed process, the very real concerns about the erosion of national sovereignty implicit in this deal is one that those in power are eager to see avoided. So far, they are being aided in that quest by a media that chooses to avoid the hard questions about this series of agreements to the extent that they cover them at all.

As always, the power belongs in the hands of the people. Without significant pushback from the public, however, the momentum of these border agreements might be enough to make the North American Union an inevitability. Alternatively, the public can fight back by making this into a key political issue and informing others of the potential threat to the survival of both the US and Canada as sovereign nations.

It Begins: Anti Money Power Lawsuit Filed in Canada

12/22/2011

  by Staff Report

A press release announces that Canadian constitutional lawyer, Rocco Galati, “on behalf of Canadians William Krehm, and Ann Emmett, and COMER (Committee for Monetary and Economic Reform)” has been filed in Canadian Federal Court, “to restore the use of the Bank of Canada to its original purpose, by exercising its public statutory duty and responsibility.” – Rocco Galati Law Firm/ via Rense

Dominant Social Theme: The money system we have now is the best it can be.

Free-Market Analysis: Well, it is finally happening. A legal challenge to the power elite‘s money system has been launched in a Canadian Court “for the benefit of Canadians … and to restore the use of the Bank of Canada for the benefit of Canadians. Here’s some more from the press release mentioned above:

The action also constitutionally challenges the government’s fallacious accounting methods in its tabling of the budget by not calculating nor revealing the true and total revenues of the nation before transferring back “tax credits” to corporations and other taxpayers. The Plaintiffs state that since 1974 there has been a gradual but sure slide into the reality that the Bank of Canada and Canada’s monetary and financial policy are dictated by private foreign banks and financial interests contrary to the Bank of Canada Act.

The Plaintiffs state that the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), the Financial Stability Forum (FSF) and theInternational Monetary Fund (IMF) were all created with the cognizant intent of keeping poorer nations in their place which has now expanded to all nations in that these financial institutions largely succeed in over-riding governments and constitutional orders in countries such as Canada over which they exert financial control.

The Plaintiffs state that the meetings of the BIS and Financial Stability Board (FSB) (successor of FSF), their minutes, their discussions and deliberations are secret and not available nor accountable to Parliament, the executive, nor the Canadian public notwithstanding that the Bank of Canada policies directly emanate from these meetings. These organizations are essentially private, foreign entities controlling Canada’s banking system and socio-economic policies.

Strong stuff. As we’ve been writing since 2008 now, the current central banking money system is probably finished. It is not finished because it has worked so badly (for most people anyway) but because it is seen as profoundly immoral.

The argument used to be that you needed a central banking system as a lender of last resort. But in practice, people have simply decided that the system is a kind of ruse that protects a certain financial class while leaving everyone else to fend for themselves. You can read two initial articles on this here:

Beginning of the End? Fed Cannot Account for $9 Trillion

Have the Immoral Actions of Central Bankers Precipitated the Decline of the West?

Of course, beyond its immortality and incredible unfairness, the current money system as it operates throughout the West IS illegal; it has been corrupted by the people who run it entirely for their own benefit. Knowing human nature, this is entirely expectable. When individuals are granted a money monopoly, they will inevitably abuse it.

The Canadian plaintiffs make this point as well, stating that officials are “engaged in a conspiracy.” They wield a perfectly justifiable broad brush, naming the BIS, FSB and IMF as part of a larger effort to “render impotent the Bank of Canada Act as well as Canadian sovereignty over financial, monetary, and socio-economic policy, and bypass the sovereign rule of Canada …”

If the lawsuit had stopped there, we’d be all for it. Unfortunately, the announced goal of the lawsuit as expressed by the plaintiffs is to support “making interest free loans to municipal/provincial/federal governments for ‘human capital’ expenditures (education, health, other social services) and/or infrastructure expenditures.”

The lawsuit is a good idea because it may publicize what’s happened to the West’s money system, and Canada’s in particular. But it beggars common sense to believe that Canadians – or citizens of any country – can simply print money without interest to pay for an endless stream of social programs.

Unfortunately, this idea has taken hold in the US as well, thanks to intrepid campaigners such as financial author Ellen Brown. It simply isn’t possible, though. Only the free market can regulate how much money-stuff is necessary for an economy. A government simply CANNOT know.

When people run the printing presses, there will likely always be too much money circulating, with the attendant impact of booms, busts and ongoing, ruinous inflation. This is one reason why gold and silver-based money economies are perhaps the preferable alternative.

Such money-stuff is self regulating. When there is too much of it, value goes down and it ceases to circulate in such abundance. When there is too little, value goes up and MORE circulates. Simple. The magic of the markets.

Litigating the current ruinous money system may not remove it, but it will certainly bring it yet more unwanted attention. That’s good. Now if only people would stop thinking that the printing press is a magical instrument and that in “good” hands it can enrich everyone the way it has enriched the Anglosphere elites. Not so.

Conclusion: File this under “two steps forward, one step back.”

The corruption of America

The Corruption of America

by Porter Stansberry

The numbers tell us America is in decline… if not outright collapse.

I say “the numbers tell us” because I’ve become very sensitive to the impact this kind of statement has on people. When I warned about the impending bankruptcy of General Motors in 2006 and 2007, readers actually blamed me for the company’s problems – as if my warnings to the public were the real problem, rather than GM’s $400 billion in debt.

The claim was absurd. But the resentment my work engendered was real.

So please… before you read this issue, which makes several arresting claims about the future of our country… understand I am only writing about the facts as I find them today. I am only drawing conclusions based on the situation as it stands. I am not saying that these conditions can’t improve. Or that they won’t improve.

The truth is, I am optimistic. I believe our country is heading into a crisis. But I also believe that… sooner or later… Americans will make the right choices and put our country back on sound footing.

Please pay careful attention to the data I cite. And please send me corrections to the facts. I will happily publish any correction that can be substantiated. But please don’t send me threats, accusations against my character, or baseless claims about my lack of patriotism. If I didn’t love our country, none of these facts would bother me. I wouldn’t have bothered writing this letter.

I know this is a politically charged and emotional issue. My conclusions will not be easy for most readers to accept. Likewise, many of the things I am writing about this month will challenge my subscribers to re-examine what they believe about their country. The facts about America today tell a painful story about a country in a steep decline, beset by problems of its own making.

One last point, before we begin… I realize that this kind of macro-economic/political analysis is not, primarily, what you pay me for. You rightly expect me to provide you with investment opportunities – whether bull market, bear market, or total societal collapse. And that’s what I’ve done every month for more than 15 years.

But that’s not what I’ve done this month. You won’t find any investment ideas at all in these pages. This issue is unlike any other I have ever written.

I’m sure it will spark a wave of cancellations – costing me hundreds of thousands of dollars. I fear it will spark a tremendous amount of controversy. Many people will surely accuse me of deliberately writing inflammatory things in order to stir the pot and gain attention. That’s not my intention. The truth is, I’ve gone to great lengths throughout my career to protect my privacy.

I am speaking out now because I believe someone must. And I have the resources to do it. I am sharing these ideas with my subscribers because I know we have arrived at the moment of a long-brewing crisis.

Our political leaders, our business leaders, and our cultural leaders have made a series of catastrophic choices. The result has been a long decline in America’s standard of living.

For decades, we have papered over these problems with massive amounts of borrowing. But now, our debts total close to 400% of GDP, and America is the world’s largest borrower (after being the world’s largest creditor only 40 years ago)… And the holes in our society can no longer be hidden…

We’ve reached the point where we will have to fix what lies at the heart of America’s decline… or be satisfied with a vastly lower standard of living in the future.

How do I know? How do I statistically define the decline of America?

The broadest measure of national wealth is per-capita gross domestic product (GDP). Economists use this figure to judge standards of living around the world. It shows the value of the country’s annual production divided by the number of its citizens. No, the production isn’t actually divided among all the citizens, but this measure provides us with a fair benchmark to compare different economies around the world. Likewise, this measure shows the growth (or the decline) in wealth in societies across time.

So… is America growing richer or poorer based on per-capita GDP? Seems like a simple enough question, doesn’t it? Is our economy growing faster than our population? Are we, as individuals, becoming more affluent? Or is the pie, measured on a per-person basis, growing smaller?

This is the most fundamental measure of the success or the failure of any political system or culture. Are the legal and social rules we live under aiding our economic development or holding us back? What do the numbers say?

Unfortunately, it’s a harder question to answer than it should be. The problem is, we don’t have a sound currency with which to measure GDP through time. Until 1971, the U.S. dollar was defined as a certain amount of gold. And the price of gold was fixed by international agreement. It didn’t actually begin to trade freely until 1975. Therefore, the value of the U.S. dollar (and thus the value of U.S. production, which is measured in dollars) was manipulated higher for many years.

Even today, our government’s nominal GDP figures are greatly influenced by inflation. The influence of inflation is particularly pernicious in GDP studies. You see, inflation, which actually reduces our standard of living, drives up the amount of nominal GDP. So it creates the appearance of a wealthier country… while the nation is actually getting poorer.

The only real way to accurately measure per-capita GDP is to build our own model. The need to build our own tools tells you something important – the government doesn’t want anyone to know the answer to this question. It could easily publish data far more accurate than the indexes it puts out. But government doesn’t want anyone to know. And it wants to be able to say “those aren’t the real data” when studies like ours produce bad news.

So pay attention to how we built our charts. You can see for yourself that our data are far more accurate than the government’s figures. Our data are based on the real purchasing power of the currency, not the nominal numbers, which are completely meaningless in the real world.

The question we are trying to answer is: What would per-capita GDP numbers look like, if we used a real-world currency, like gold, or a basket of commodity prices, instead of the paper-based U.S. dollar? What would the figures be if we measured GDP in sound money instead of the government’s funny money?

Here’s how we figured it out. We took the government numbers for nominal GDP and measured them first against commodity prices, and later (after it began to trade freely) gold. We used a standard commodity index (the CRB) up to 1975 and gold post-1975. The result of this analysis shows you the real trend in U.S. per-capita GDP, as measured on a real-world purchasing power basis.

Our analysis shows you what’s actually happened to our real standard of living. The results, we suspect, will surprise even the most bearish among you.

America is in a steep decline.

Americans Are Getting Poorer – Fast

Let me anticipate the “official” criticism of our study. Many people will claim that our numbers aren’t “real.” They will say that we “mined” the data to produce a chart that showed a steep decline.

That’s simply not so. All we’ve done is convert the government’s nominal GDP stats into a fixed currency value that’s based on real-world purchasing power. The fact is, our data are far more accurate than the government’s because they represent the real-world experience. That’s why our data are far more closely correlated to other real-world studies of wealth in America.

Consider, for example, annual sales of automobiles. Auto sales peaked in 1985 (11 million) and have been declining at a fairly steady rate since 1999. In 2009, Americans bought just 5.4 million passenger cars. As a result, the median age of a registered vehicle in the U.S. is almost 10 years.

Our data shows that real per-capita wealth peaked in the late 1960s. Guess when we find the absolutely lowest median age of the U.S. fleet? In 1969. At the end of the 1960s, the median age of all the cars on the road in the U.S. was only 5.1 years. Even as recently as 1990, the median age was only 6.5 years.

Rich people buy new cars. Poor people do not.

Most important, our data “proves” something I know many of you have felt or perceived for many years. You’ve seen the decline of your neighborhoods. You’ve gone years without being able to earn more money in your job. Or you’ve seen your purchasing power decrease to the point where you’re now substituting lower-quality products on your grocery list for the brand-name products you used to buy.

You can see how much harder it is on your children to find good jobs, to buy good housing or a new car. As a result, few people under the age of 40 have the same kind of “life story” as their parents.

And because they can’t “make it,” many have decided to “fake it.” The average college student now graduates with $24,000 in debt… and by his late 20s has racked up more than $6,000 in credit card debt. Meanwhile, median earnings for Americans aged 25-34 equals $34,000-$38,000. (Source: Demos.org, “The Economic State of Young America,” November 2011.)

Can you imagine starting your life out as an adult with a personal debt-to-income level at close to 100%? What does this say about the state of our economy? What does this say about the state of our culture?

Who Suffers Most

It’s not only the young that are having trouble in America. It is also the old.

Debt levels among households headed by people older than 62 have been rising for two decades. The average mortgage size for this population is now $71,000 – five times larger than it was in 1987 (adjusted for inflation), according to William Apgar of Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies.

Older Americans are also more reliant on credit card debt than ever before… credit card debt. From 1992 through 2007 (which is the latest data available) older Americans took on credit card debt at a faster pace than the population as a whole. According to USA Today, lower- and middle-income Americans aged 65 and older now carry an average of more than $10,000 in credit card debt, up 26% since only 2005.

Given average interest rates of 20% for these debts, it’s a fair bet that these obligations will never be repaid. But they will have a terrible impact on the standard of living of these older Americans.

What in the heck is going on? Don’t Americans pay off their mortgages before they retire? Don’t they work hard during their careers, save, and invest, so they can move to Florida and spend their retirement in comfort?

Older Americans living with credit card debt! This doesn’t sound like America, does it? Or maybe it does.

My bet is that most of my subscribers know that something has gone terribly wrong with America. It’s not easy to figure out how all of this happened… but you know from your own experiences that these numbers aren’t wrong. It might not be pleasant to think about… but these figures paint a sad but accurate picture: America is not the country it was 40 years ago. These changes are warping our economy, politics, and culture.

In this month’s issue, I’d like to try to define a few of the core reasons we’re in this situation. I can’t possibly analyze all the factors that have led to this decline. But I want to document the growth of graft in politics. I want to demonstrate – with real facts and examples – how public company leadership has deteriorated. And I want to document some of the things that are occurring in the broader society, all of which I believe are linked to this fundamental decline in our standard of living.

You see, I believe the decline of our country is primarily a decline of our culture.

We have lost our sense of honor, humility, and the dedication to personal responsibility that, for more than 200 years, made our country the greatest hope for mankind. I want to detail some of the factors that gave rise to the current entitlement society. We have become a country of people who believe their well-being is someone else’s responsibility.

I’ve labeled these problems: The Corruption of America.

These problems manifest themselves in different ways across institutions in all parts of our society. But at their root, they are simply facets of the same stone. They are all part of the same essential problem.

The corruption of America isn’t happening in one part of our country… or in one type of institution. It is happening across the landscape of our society, in almost every institution. It’s a kind of moral decay… a kind of greed… a kind of desperate grasp for power… And it’s destroying our nation.

The Ethos of ‘Getting Yours’

Americans know, in their bones, that something terrible is happening. Maybe you can’t articulate it. Maybe you don’t have the statistics to understand exactly what’s going on. But my bet is, you think about it a lot.

For me, a poignant moment of recognition came this month.

Bloomberg news published an article based on confidential sources about how Henry Paulson, the former CEO of Goldman Sachs and the Republican U.S. Treasury secretary during the financial crisis, held a secret meeting with the top 20 hedge-fund managers in New York City in late July 2008. This was about two weeks after he testified to Congress that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were “well-capitalized.”

I knew for a fact that what Paulson told Congress wasn’t true. I wrote my entire June 2008 newsletter detailing exactly why Fannie and Freddie certainly had billions in losses that they had not yet revealed to investors – $500 billion in losses, at least. There was no question in my mind, both companies were insolvent – “zeros,” as I explained.

And yet, in front of Congress, the U.S. Treasury secretary was saying exactly the opposite. Either I was a liar… or he was.

Then… only a few days later… what did Paulson tell those hedge-fund managers?

He told them the same thing I had written in my newsletter. He told them the opposite of what he’d said publicly to Congress. He told these billionaire investors that Fannie and Freddie were a disaster… They would require an enormous, multibillion-dollar bailout… The U.S. government would have to take them over… And their shareholders would be completely wiped out.

Here you had a high-government official, explicitly lying to Congress (and by extension, the general public), while giving the real facts to a group of people who represented the financial interests of the world’s wealthiest folks. The story didn’t come to the public’s attention for two years.

This was the most outrageous example of graft and corruption I have ever seen. Certainly it involves more billions of dollars in misappropriated value than any other similar story I can recall. These managers had the risk-free ability to make tens of billions of dollars, if not hundreds of billions, by using derivatives to capitalize on what they knew was the imminent collapse of the world’s largest mortgage bank. Who picked up the tab? You know perfectly well. It was you and me, the taxpayers.

(One of the investment managers present at this meeting was Steve Rattner, who by that point was already deeply involved in another bit of graft, his efforts to bribe New York state pension-fund managers for large investments into his hedge fund, from which he earned perhaps as much as $100 million. He later settled the charges for a mere $10 million shortly after Andrew Cuomo was elected governor of New York.)

The Bloomberg story… about a crooked Treasury secretary handing a room full of crooked billionaires inside information worth billions of dollars… hardly caused a ripple. As far as I know, no actions are being planned against Henry Paulson or any of the hedge-fund managers involved. No other major media outlet picked up the story. I saw nothing about it from the Department of Justice or the Securities and Exchange Commission.

What does that say about our country when even the most egregious kind of corruption – involving hundreds of billions of dollars – is simply ignored?

It seems like everyone in our country has lost his moral bearing, from the highest government officials and senior corporate leaders all the way down to schoolteachers and local community leaders. The ethos of my fellow Americans seems to have changed from one of personal integrity and responsibility to “getting yours” – the all-out attempt, by any means possible, to get the most amount of benefits with the least amount of work.

You can see this in everything from the lowering of school standards (revising the SAT) to the widespread use of performance-enhancing drugs in professional, college, and high school sports. Cheating has become a way of life in America.

I have an idea about how this happened… about the root cause of this kind of corruption and why it was inevitable, given some of the basic facts regarding how we’ve organized our government and our corporations.

Let me show you the numbers – the hard facts – behind what’s happened to our country…

The Corruption of Politics

I’ll start with one of the biggest factors in the decline of our civilization – the link between welfare, education, crime, and politics.

It is routinely alleged in national political debates that something is fundamentally unfair and un-American about the huge “wealth gap” between the poorest Americans and the wealthiest. Some politicians like to argue that the poor never have a real shot at the American dream, and as a nation, we owe them more and more of our resources to correct this injustice. Most important, it is alleged that only the government has the resources to correct this inequality.

This is a dangerous notion…

First, it promotes the idea of entitlement. Entitlement is a fairly new idea in the American political lexicon – perhaps because most of our nation’s wealth is still fairly new. The American idea of entitlement argues that because you were born into a rich society, other people owe you something. The idea has become pervasive in our culture. It underlies the basic assumptions behind the idea of a “wealth gap.” Implicit is the assumption that successful Americans haven’t rightfully earned their wealth… that in one way or another, they’ve taken advantage of the society and have an obligation to give back most of what they’ve “taken.”

As you’ll see, I believe the idea of entitlement lies at the root of many of our most serious cultural problems.

The more obvious problem is the idea that the government is responsible for fixing the “wealth gap.” But the government has proved wholly ineffective at dealing with poverty in America. The data is nearly conclusive that government efforts are far more likely to be the cause of the wealth gap than the solution.

The simple fact is, the government has to take resources from someone before it can dole them out to others. And this act of taking turns out to be economically destructive. It reduces the market’s incentives for entrepreneurs. The more you take from the productive members of society, the less productive they become. That’s the primary lesson of the history of socialism. Yet… many of our political leaders seem oblivious to this iron law of human nature.

Consider a simple analysis that compares the unemployment rate with the size of the federal government’s spending, as measured against GDP. (We created this chart after reading a similar analysis at Mark Perry’s excellent financial blog, Carpe Diem.)

As you can see in this chart, the larger the government grows as a percentage of our economy, the higher unemployment rises. The more government, the less opportunity. These figures are similar when studied comparatively across many different countries.

We also know from decades of experience that little of the government’s funding for the poor will ever reach those who are actually in need. Instead, these kinds of socialist policies end up sending billions of dollars into the hands of unions, “community organizers,” and other sponsors of the Democratic Party. This tightens their political control of America’s inner cities, which have become the source of our country’s most intractable social problems.

Believe me, I have reams of data and decades of case studies for these conclusions. But before we get to my proof, I want you to simply assume that what I’m saying is 100% correct. Assume most of the government’s social spending ends up corrupting the politics of the inner city. Assume these efforts actually make the “wealth gap” larger. Assume these policies and the politicians who sponsor them are actually creating a society of complete dependence, where the spread of ignorance has created entire generations of people who aren’t educated enough to know they’ve been enslaved by their own leaders.

If these things are true, if my conclusions are exactly right, what would America’s poorest communities look like today?

It has now been almost 50 years since the start of the War on Poverty, President Lyndon Johnson’s program to radically increase domestic welfare spending. These programs and their various spinoffs have been at the center of Democratic politics ever since. In fact, if you compare speeches about these programs from the mid-1960s until today, you will find the verbiage never changes. Obama is merely echoing the same calls for “social justice” that Robert Kennedy used in his ill-fated 1968 campaign for president.

But besides the soaring rhetoric, besides the promise of a “chicken in every pot,” what have these programs actually achieved? The wholesale destruction of urban communities across America, communities that are overwhelmingly African American. If the intention of these programs had been to destroy black communities, you could have hardly done more damage than the last 50 years of Democratic policy.

I don’t think most Americans realize how dangerous these communities have become or the toll they take on our country as a whole. That’s primarily because talking about this problem is seen as racist. That’s complete nonsense. The victims of these policies are primarily black people. Trying to help them restore dignity and independence to their communities isn’t a racist goal. It’s humanitarian.

And let me offer a prediction… Sooner or later, the people in these communities are going to finally point their finger at the politicians who’ve lied and pandered to them for decades, all while stealing from them at every turn. When that moment comes, having a track record of correctly speaking out about the real nature of these problems will be a valuable political asset.

No, I’m not running for office… I’m just trying to buck-up the politicians who I know read this letter. They need to get out in front of this issue.

Let me give you some of the numbers that define the enormous scope of these problems.

According to the NAACP, Texas taxpayers spent $175 million in 2009 to imprison residents from a small part of Houston – only 10 zip codes out of 75. Thus, people from neighborhoods that are home to only about 10% of the city’s population account for more than 33% of the state’s entire $500 million annual prison spending. These neighborhoods are overwhelmingly poor and African American.

In Pennsylvania, taxpayers will spend $290 million in 2009 to imprison residents from just 11 of Philadelphia’s neighborhoods, representing about 25% of the city population. On this relatively small urban area, the state will spend roughlyhalf its $500 million prison budget. These neighborhoods are overwhelmingly poor and African American.

In New York, taxpayers will spend $539 million to imprison residents from only 24 of New York City’s 200 different neighborhoods. Only 16% of the city’s population lives in these areas, but they will account for nearly half of the state’s $1.1 billion prison budget. These neighborhoods are overwhelmingly poor and African American.

America has many problems… but these neighborhoods represent more than a society in decline. Life in these places reflects a complete collapse of Western civilization. What’s happening in these communities? A breakdown of the family and the resulting collapse of the school system. What you have left is crime – violent and political.

In Detroit, only 27% of the black male students in the school system graduate from high school. This is not a racial problem: Only 19% of the white male students graduate from those same schools. What’s causing this problem? A complete breakdown of society. When communities can no longer teach their children the most basic academic skills, such as reading, math, history, literature, and economics… what future can we expect? And what kind of society do you expect after several generations of total ignorance?

These problems are still found primarily in urban areas, but they are spreading across the country. In Pinellas County, Florida, only 21% of black male students graduate from high school. In Palm Beach County, Florida, you find a similar number. Likewise Duval County, Florida… and Jefferson Parish, Louisiana… and Charleston County, South Carolina. In Nebraska, only 40% of black male students graduate from high school. In Nevada, only 45%. In New York state, only 25%.

What opportunities are available in America to people without even a basic education? The New York Times reports almost 70% of black males without a high school diploma are unemployed in the United States.

In many predominantly black, urban communities, the actual unemployment rate is close to 100% for young dropouts. Given these figures, it isn’t surprising that many of these people end up in jail.

According to various studies, black males who dropped out of school by age 16 are four times more likely to end up in jail than those who remained in school. Crime is literally all they know. Likewise, a black youth whose mother was a high school dropout is 88% more likely to end up in jail. These are the two primary reasons nearly one in 11 adult black men are either in jail or on parole.

How did this all happen? How did we end up with expensive schools that can’t teach? How did we end up with young mothers who aren’t married? How did we end up with entire generations of people who won’t – and probably can’t – work in the labor force? How did we end up with a skyrocketing prison population? The prison population in America has soared from less than half a million people in 1980 to more than 2.5 million people today. More than 7 million adults are in prison or on parole in the United States. We have an incarceration rate that’s seven times higher than any other industrialized nation.

The land of the free?

Let’s ask the most basic question: What has the gigantic increase in welfare spending and education spending done for the underclass of America? It seems apparent that growth in federal spending has caused far more harm than good. When you study these neighborhoods, what you find is a horrifying story that’s been repeated, generation after generation since the early 1960s. It’s a story of families who have been destroyed by their dependency on the state.

The truly extraordinary part is that all these things happenedafter these neighborhoods began voting and electing their own (typically black and Democratic) leadership. The socialism they voted for themselves led most directly to the destruction of their communities. It was their own mayors, ward leaders, and congressmen who chose this path for these communities.

Let me show you one case study – Detroit.

How Socialism Came to America…
and Destroyed Detroit

In 1961, the last Republican mayor of Detroit, Louis C. Miriani, lost his re-election bid. He probably would have lost to anyone who ran against him because he was known to be a crook. He later served 10 years in prison for tax evasion.

The man who defeated him, Jerome Cavanagh, was a Democrat. He ushered in a new kind of politics in Detroit. Cavanagh, who was white, got elected by promising to give Detroit’s African American population the civil rights they deserved. But he didn’t stop there. Seeing the political advantage to serving this community’s interests, he did all he could to bring government benefits and government spending to Detroit’s black community.

Cavanagh brought socialism to Detroit.

Mayor Cavanagh was the only elected official to serve on President Johnson’s Model Cities task force. The program was modeled after Soviet efforts to rebuild whole urban areas in Eastern Europe. At the time, this centralized approach to urban development was proclaimed as an advantage to the Soviet system, something that could give them an edge in the Cold War.

Detroit received widespread acclaim for its leadership in the program, which attempted to turn a nine-square-mile section of the city (with 134,000 inhabitants) into a “Model City.” To help finance the effort, Cavanagh pushed a new income tax through the state legislature and a “commuter tax” on city workers. He promised the mostly poor and black residents of the Model City area that the rich would pay for all of these benefits. He bought their votes with taxes they didn’t have to pay.

It was classic American socialism.

More than $400 million was spent on the program – and that was back when quarters still had actual silver in them. The feds and Democratic city mayors were soon telling people where to live, what to build, and what businesses to open or close. In return, the people received cash, training, education, and health care.

But they didn’t like being told what to do… or how to live. Not surprisingly, the Model Cities program was a disaster for Detroit. Within five years, it had helped trigger a complete breakdown of civil order and the city’s population began to rapidly decline.

On July 23, 1967, police attempted to break up a notorious “blind pig” in the heart of the new Model City. Blind pigs were after-hours clubs that featured gambling and prostitution. They were part of the black culture of Detroit, with many having been in operation since the Prohibition period. The community tolerated these establishments – but the political leadership didn’t want any blind pigs in the new Model City area.

On this particular night, at this particular club, the community was celebrating the return of two Vietnam War veterans. More than 80 people had packed into the club. The police decided to arrest everyone present, including the two war vets. This outraged the entire neighborhood, which began to riot. The scene turned into the worst race riot of the 1960s.

As my friend Doug Casey likes to say about the War on Poverty, “The poor lost.” The violence killed more than 40 people and left more than 5,000 people homeless. One of the first stores to be looted was a black-owned pharmacy. The largest black-owned clothing store in the city was also burned to the ground. Cavanagh did nothing to stop the riots. (He claimed a large police presence would make matters worse.) Five days later, President Johnson sent in two divisions of paratroopers to put down the insurrection.

The situation destabilized the entire city. Most of the people who could afford to leave did. Over the next 18 months, 140,000 upper- and middle-class residents – almost all of them white – left the city.

And so, you might ask… after five years of centralized planning, higher taxes, and a fleeing population, what did the government decide to do with its grand experiment? You’ll never guess…

Seeing it had accomplished nothing but failure… The government expanded the Model City program with 1974′s Community Development Block Grant Program. Here again, politicians would decide which groups (and even individuals) would receive state funds for various “renewal” schemes. Later, big business was brought into the fold. In exchange for various concessions, the Big Three automakers “gave” $488 million to the city for use in still more redevelopment schemes in the mid-1990s.

What happened? Even with all of their power and all of the money, centralized planners couldn’t succeed with any of their plans. Nearly all of the upper- and middle-class citizens left Detroit. The poor fled, too. The Model City area lost 63% of its population and 45% of its housing units from the inception of the program through 1990.

Even today, the crisis continues. At a recent auction of nearly 9,000 seized homes and lots, less than one-fifth of the available properties sold, even with bidding starting at $500. You literally can’t give away most of the property in Model City areas today. The properties put up for sale represented an area the size of New York’s Central Park. Total vacant land in Detroit now occupies an area the size of Boston. Detroit properties in foreclosure have more than tripled since 2007.

None of this is surprising. It’s exactly what you’d expect to see given the implementation of a socialist scheme like a Model Cities’ program. Quite simply, coercion doesn’t work for economic development. You cannot tax yourself into prosperity.

It might buy votes… but sooner or later the voters will realize all that’s been promised was a lie. Won’t they?… Maybe not.

You see, the failure of the Model Cities program and of the War on Poverty wasn’t surprising. What is surprising is that every single mayor of Detroit since 1961 has been a Democrat. And extremely liberal, black politicians have filled almost every major political office in the city since the mid-1960s.

For example, John Conyers, Jr. has represented most of Detroit’s worst neighborhoods since 1965. Today, Conyers is the second-longest serving congressman in the House. And his election track record could be described as “Putin-esque.”Conyers doesn’t merely win all of his election campaigns… He wins by margins that aren’t explainable in a normal, two-party system.

He defeated Republican Robert Blackwell in 1964, getting 84% of the vote. He was re-elected 13 times in a row from that district, all with a greater margin of victory than 85%. Ironically, the district was so ill-served by his socialistic policies that about half of the people moved away. The population losses led to redistricting. From then on, his margin of victory has fallen… to “only” around 80%.

These election results don’t seem reasonable, do they? They aren’t. By controlling the state legislature in Michigan, the Democrats are able to draw the congressional districts in a way that guarantees them almost permanent control. It’s no different than what despots do all over the world. They hold an “election.” But it’s only for show.

And what do the Democrats do with this power? They push a form of American socialism. This political system features transfer payments, government jobs, and lucrative government contracts to voters in exchange for political support – and in many cases, outright bribes. They do all of these things under the cover of “progressive” politics and “social justice.”

But if you brush away the veneer, what you find is a history of abuse of power, corruption, and outright bribery. Conyers himself was found guilty of several minor ethical violations in 2006 – mainly of using his staff as personal servants, forcing them to babysit and chauffer his children. In 1992, he was one of the most egregious abusers of the House Banking scandal. He wrote 273 bad checks and left his account overdrawn for nine months. But that’s all small-time graft compared to how things really work in his office and in his district.

How do I know? Well… just ask yourself where Conyers’ wife sleeps today.

Monica Conyers, the wife of the second-longest tenured congressman in the United States, sleeps in a federal prison in West Virginia. She pled guilty to bribery in June 2009. She is serving a 37-month sentence for accepting $60,000 in bribes as the president pro tempore of the Detroit City Council. And yet… and yet… Conyers won re-election handily in 2010.

How is that possible?

These kinds of people and their political philosophy have destroyed what was once America’s fourth-largest city. There is almost nothing left of what was the capital of America’s industrial heartland. It’s not hard to understand what has happened. When you start taxing people at extremely progressive rates to pay for socialist “benefits”… when you start telling them which schools their children must attend… when you start giving jobs away to people based on political patronage, race, or anything other than ability… you quash human freedom, you create dependency. And you deter capital and investment… which bogs down productivity and economic growth. If continued for long enough, it leads to social collapse.

And Conyers is hardly an anomaly. Just look at those same blighted districts in Houston and Philadelphia…

In Houston, most of the city’s worst neighborhoods in terms of high-school graduation rates and crime are found in Texas Congressional District 18, where Democrats have won every election since the district was created through re-zoning in 1972. In 1994, Sheila Jackson Lee won the seat by promising to deliver more federal benefits to her constituents…

To appreciate the sterling representation the Honorable Ms. Jackson Lee provides, consider this… In 2010 in bizarre remarks before Congress, she demanded the government recognize victory in Vietnam. You can try to figure out what she’s talking about here. She also alleged racism on the part of her fellow members of Congress who were voting against raising the debt ceiling. Don’t believe it? View for yourself.

In Philadelphia, Chaka Fattah represents the worst parts of the city, Pennsylvania’s 2nd Congressional District. The 2nd District is the fifth-most Democratic Congressional District out of the 435 in Congress (and the most Democratic outside of New York) based on the consistency and margin of Democratic victories. A black Democrat has held the seat since 1963.

Among Chaka Fattah’s political highlights is his economically illiterate plan to implement a 1% surcharge on all financial transactions and transfers in lieu of all other forms of tax. This ill-fated plan, which hasn’t gotten a single co-sponsor, ignores everything we know about actual human behavior. (If you implemented such a cost to financial transactions, the viability of those transactions would be destroyed and they wouldn’t occur.)

Fattah’s other notable political position is his support for convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. Mumia’s case has been acause célèbre for years. The details of his endless appeals are tedious… just know the evidence presented against him is overwhelming. And the Fraternal Order of Police has consistently campaigned against Fattah’s re-election over his support of Mumia.

The larger point is… These districts are among the most blighted in our nation. Society has broken down there to a horrible degree. Opportunity has vanished… Crime is rampant… Dependency on the state is the norm. The leadership in these communities should be the most scrutinized, their elected positions among the most contested. And yet, they are the safest seats in Congress. The officials dominance goes unchallenged.

Why haven’t these policies and these leaders been dropped – even after they’ve pled guilty to outright bribery? You would think having experienced enough failure, having lived through horrible riots, terrible crime, total economic collapse, brazen corruption… that sooner or later, the voters in Detroit (and many other cities in America) would come to their senses. But that’s not what happened. Instead, these systems have continued to fail up to the point of total collapse. It is as if one part of our society decided to run off the cliff… and then continued to do so for decades.

Why? Why did this happen? Why does it continue to happen?

Government Employee Unions:
Organized Corruption

A big part of the answer lies in understanding the key mechanism in the Democratic Party’s funding system. (Don’t worry… so far, we’ve been talking about Democratic Party failures, but I’ll get to the Republicans next. The corruption of America is a bipartisan problem.)

We can trace the origins of these ultraliberal politicians and the beginnings of America’s severe urban decline to the early 1960s. Yes, that was when the civil rights movement inspired the black community to take political power. But that wouldn’t have necessarily led them to embrace socialism. Americans of all races largely rejected socialism for decades.

That all changed in the mid-1960s. Facing tough mid-term elections, the Democratic Party convinced President John F. Kennedy to allow the federal workforce to unionize. Executive order 10988 – signed on January 17, 1962 – permitted federal employees to organize unions and bargain collectively for higher wages and benefits. This set the stage for similar measures in cities and states across the country and led to a transformation of the union workforce. (Technically, Wisconsin became the first state to allow collective bargaining from state employees in 1959. But that’s an outlier. Most states followed the federal lead.)

This represented a major change in both Democratic Party strategy and a major revolution in American politics. Even Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who was the most liberal president in history prior to Barack Obama, recognized that allowing collective bargaining on behalf of government workers was incompatible with a free democratic system of government…

All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. – President Franklin Roosevelt in a letter to Luther Steward, president of the National Federation of Federal Employees, August 16, 1937.

A government union turns the public servant into the public’s master. It is a means of using the government’s own spending to organize control of that government. And that is exactly what’s happened. The government, unlike private companies, isn’t limited by normal economics because the government controls the monopoly on force and has the power to levy taxes.

The power of unions had long been held in check by market forces. Companies that gave too much to the unions in terms of pay or benefits soon found themselves driven out of the market because of high costs or poor products. Except in cases of government bailouts (like GM), these companies soon went out of work and their union members were left unemployed.

Nobody could reliably adopt truly socialistic policies because eventually, the costs of those bad ideas limited the power of the people promoting them. The growth of unions stalled in the 1950s, and they began to shrink in the 1960s. This caused a crisis in the Democratic Party (among the principal beneficiaries of union dues). Something had to be done.

Organizing unions made up of state employees completely eliminated the ability of market forces to temper their power. After all, taxes aren’t subject to the demands of consumers. Following Kennedy’s executive order, membership in public employee unions – The American Federal of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and the Teachers’ National Education Association (NEA) – boomed. So did their contributions to liberal, Democratic politicians.

These socialist organizations now had access to funding that wasn’t limited by market forces. They could control entire generations of politicians. And they did. From 1989 to 2004, AFSCME was the largest single donor to federal political campaigns in the country. More than 98% of its donations went to Democratic candidates.

To see the damage the heavy involvement of these unions has on the community, consider one government service – education.

The Democrats largely control all the areas plagued by the worst schools in the United States – the inner city schools of America’s big cities. A voucher system that would empower parents to send their children to better schools and introduce competition for government funding is a simple and proven way to improve both the results and cost-effectiveness.

If the Democratic Party were truly interested in the actual well-being of the communities it serves, supporting voucher plans and charter schools is among the first things you’d expect them to pass. But in fact, it is the last thing they would ever voluntarily do. It is the Democratic Party that stands firmly against any significant changes to the public school system – despite its obvious failure – because of lobbying by the NEA.

This is so clearly an example of graft and corruption that you must doubt the ability of the system to function.

Besides this obvious problem, there is a tremendous amount of corruption in the various direct transfer payment programs that have been organized and supported by the Democrats and their union backers, which have created an entire subculture of people who live and trade in various forms of welfare. If you don’t believe me, spend a few days shopping in your nearest ghetto. Look for the “Use EBT Here” and “We Accept WIC” signs… They’re essentially gift tags… demonstrating your compulsory largesse to the good folks of that neighborhood.

And people addicted to transfer payments will never see how their dependency is destroying their community. That’s exactly what happened in Detroit.

Today, we have a black, Democratic president, who came to power in the most corrupt state in the union – Illinois. Right now, two former Illinois governors have been convicted for corruption. One for blatantly trying to sell the Senate seat Obama vacated when he became president.

And realize… not a single member of Obama’s cabinet has any kind of private-sector experience.

On the other hand, he has extremely close ties to the unions. He had the most liberal voting record of any senator during his tenure in Congress. His agenda is explicitly socialist: “I think we should spread the wealth around a little bit.”

The likelihood America will become more and more like Detroit is growing – rapidly. Politicians now control the banking sector, most of the manufacturing sector (including autos), and a large amount of media. They are threatening to take over health care and the production of electricity via cap-and-trade rules and subsidies promoting solar power. These are major threats to the wealth and well-being of America. America is under siege by corrupt socialists.

And the big problem is… these kinds of political systems can’t be reformed because their power base is the government itself, thanks to the creation of government employee unions. That sets the stage for a collapse…

Look around… Taxes can no longer be raised without people actively fleeing states. This has happened in several places – New York, New Jersey, and California, to name a few.

In Maryland – where my company is headquartered – the Democratic state government couldn’t balance the budget in 2009, so it decided to double the income tax rate on citizens with more than $1 million in annual income. That left the rich facing a 9.45% marginal state and local income tax. Put that on top of a 36% federal rate, throw in another 6% for Social Security and Medicare, and you’re looking at a top marginal rate in excess of 50%. What kind of smart, hard-working citizen is going to give the government more than half his income if he can move somewhere else and pay substantially less?

The liberal editorial board at the Baltimore Sun happily praised the measure and predicted Maryland’s top earners would “grin and bear it.”

What a bunch of fools.

Instead, the rich left town. The number of million-dollar incomes in the state of Maryland declined by more than 30%, from 3,000 filers to only 2,000. Rather than gaining the predicted $106 million in income from these filers, Maryland collected $100 million less than it did the year before.

Do you think Maryland will rescind such stupidly progressive taxes? No way. It’s good politics to promise the voters that only the rich will pay. No, it doesn’t work. But that doesn’t matter – not until the entire system collapses. And that’s why such a collapse is inevitable. It happens all the time. The political promises expand and expand. The rate of marginal tax goes higher and higher. The tax base narrows and tax collection declines. Government debts soar, until… sooner or later… the interest rate soars because lenders realize there is no way they will ever get their money back.

That’s what’s happening now all over Europe.

And it will happen here next.

The states and their union employees have reached the inevitable endgame. The numbers in many states are mind-numbing. Illinois’ pension liability now exceeds $100 billion. Roughly half is unfunded. In California, the pension liability is $50 billion. Another 10 states have unfunded pension liabilities in excess of $10 billion.

The Pew Foundation estimates when retiree health care benefits are included, the total unfunded liabilities of the state governments currently exceed $1 trillion.

These debts are not currently on the books of any institution in America. They’re merely promises made by our state and local governments. But these promises add up to a bill we cannot possibly pay – not if we plan to honor the $20 trillion the federal government currently owes (which includes all of the debts of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac).

What does this mean for the future of America? I’m sorry… But it’s not good.

Everyone knows what happens to socialist countries. They eventually collapse for the simple reason that everyone cannot live at the expensive of his neighbor – not for long.

And if you want to see what socialism will do to our country, don’t go to the Eastern-bloc countries of the former Soviet Union. They got rid of that kind of government 20 years ago. Now they’ve got low, flat taxes and booming economies. You might visit Cuba or spend time in Venezuela. You’ll find socialism there, certainly. But you don’t have to go that far…

All you really have to do is visit Detroit.

You can drop Congressman Conyers a Thank You note after your visit.

Welfare for the Rich, Too

Our country’s core problems are not found in only one political party.

There is just as much corruption, if not more, on the Republican side of the aisle. It was, for example, as I pointed out earlier, a white, Republican-appointed Treasury secretary (Henry Paulson) who tipped off 20 top hedge-fund managers about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s imminent collapse after assuring the public that it wouldn’t happen.

For big business, the powerful role of government in our society is simply too valuable to ignore. And the amount of corruption it inspires is stunning. Few politicians even bother trying to hide the fact that they’re bought and sold like furniture.

Take Newt Gingrich. The white, Republican former House speaker was paid $1.6 million for “consulting” by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac during a period of time the two firms were under constant attack by Newt’s fellow Republicans. Were the attacks efforts to truly reform a major threat to our financial system… or were they merely shakedowns? All we know for certain is Fannie and Freddie collapsed, just as many Republicans warned they would. The Republican effort to reform the firms failed. Newt collected $1.6 million.

Fannie and Freddie could end up costing taxpayers as much as $500 billion. No, I’m not ignoring the colossal role the Democrats played in staffing Fannie and Freddie, lobbying Congress for the companies, etc. I’m simply pointing out that, in Washington, everything and everyone seems to be for sale, on both sides of the aisle.

I realize that’s nothing new. What is new is the scope of the corruption and how brazenly our leaders have embraced it.

Think about the new prescription drug benefit – 2003′s Medicare Modernization Act. The law provided public funding for both public and private prescription drug benefits. (IBM, for example, estimated it would save $400 million over 10 years on retiree benefits thanks to the law.) At the same time, the lawbanned the federal government from negotiating with pharmaceutical companies. In summary, the law basically requires the federal government to pay for the prescription drugs of just about anyone over the age of 65 and requires the government to pay full retail prices.

There are now around 25 million beneficiaries of this law (not including the pharmaceutical companies). The average annual benefit is currently about $1,500. The total cost of the legislation over the next decade is expected to be around $1 trillion. This represents the largest expansion of Medicare in the history of the U.S.

The benefit was approved by a Republican-dominated Congress, in a midnight vote. Louisiana Republican Billy Tauzin, then chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, which oversees the pharmaceutical industry, organized the vote. Two months later, Tauzin resigned his seat and took a job paying $2.5 million per year as a lobbyist for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. The pharmaceutical industry continues to spend $100 million per year on campaign contributions and lobbying.

Americans are left paying the world’s highest prices for drugs. Worse, we have extended the entitlement sentiment into the one area of the economy where personal responsibility is crucial. For most people, good health can be achieved by maintaining a disciplined diet and simple exercise. Offering free pills in lieu of such steps will only further the serious problem of diabetes and obesity we face.

And remember… this law was passed by Republicans and signed into law by a Republican president.

I could go on and on here…

There is a tremendous amount of corruption between the federal government and big business. There’s even more corruption at the state and local level. Here’s one simple expression of what’s happening…

As late as 1969, the U.S. tax code required “only” 16,500 pages. By 2007, the code grew to 67,506 pages. The current form 1040 instruction booklet is 155 pages long. Obviously none of this is necessary for the collection of taxes. The code has been shaped by the corruption of our government, which in turn was shaped by the corruption of our society.

Here’s another simple measure. Look at how much of federal spending goes directly to millionaires and big business.

Republican Sen. Tom Coburn, of Oklahoma, recently published a report on the subject entitled “Subsidies of the Rich and Famous.” According to the study, the feds are now spending around $200 billion annually on direct transfer payments to the very rich.

Given the state of our national finances, this is patently absurd. Merely getting rid of these payments would result in a substantial reduction (almost 15%) of our annual federal deficit. And yet… despite the collapsing dollar, our soaring debt loads, and the lowest civilian employment levels since the Great Depression… everything seems to be business as usual in Washington D.C.

Doesn’t that make you sick? There’s simply no excuse for this kind of governance. None. Americans deserve a vastly better and more ethical federal government. But we will never get it unless we can find a way to hold our leaders personally accountable for what’s happening.

Here’s a simple solution. Hold the senators and congressmen personally liable for any deficit, each year. We elected these people to be our leaders. We did not elect them to spend us into bankruptcy. We did not elect them to feather their own nests with unlimited public spending. We did not elect them to buy votes. The only way to stop what’s happening is to make them personally responsible for their actions. Either they will balance the budget or face personal financial ruin.

Demanding personal accountability for fiduciary responsibilities would have an immediate and profound impact on our society. It would wipe out the entitlement mentality that’s destroying our society – almost overnight.

Restoring personal accountability is also crucial if we hope to restore confidence in our public corporations and capital markets, which were once the broadest, most efficient, and most trusted in the world.

The Corruption of the Corporation

If you think I’m exaggerating the problems we face or the far-reaching impact of the entitlement culture we’ve allowed to develop in America… then explain the following fact…

The 10 largest American bankruptcies in history have all occurred in the last decade: Lehman Brothers ($691 billion), Washington Mutual ($327 billion), WorldCom ($103 billion), General Motors ($91 billion), CIT ($80.4 billion), Enron ($65 billion), Conseco ($61.4 billion), MF Global ($41 billion), Chrysler ($39.3 billion), and Thornburg Mortgage ($36.5 billion).

All of these failures have a few things in common: extremely well-compensated CEOs with long tenures (which suggests the board of directors was asleep at the wheel), vast amounts of debt that would seem completely unsafe by any reasonable standard, and accounting policies that deliberately misled investors. Most tellingly, in the majority of these cases, board members and the executive management have no material investment in the company.

In every single case, the financial jeopardy was apparent – for years. In fact, at Stansberry & Associates, we accurately predicted several of these bankruptcies and warned about nearly all of them. (Several others we accurately forecast were narrowly avoided thanks to the TARP program and other federal bailouts.) We are far from the best-connected or the smartest financial analysts in the world. Yet… almost every single Wall Street firm remained silent… and so did the ratings agencies.

You never saw most of these problems revealed to the public, either in the Wall Street Journal or other mainstream news sources. What was almost common knowledge in financial circles was never shared with the public, which continued to buy these stocks (and many others in a similar situation) all the way down. Most Americans’ 401(k)s were eviscerated. But the bonuses on Wall Street never fell.

I can’t name a single major Wall Street firm that hasn’t engaged in massive fraud over the last decade. Not one. They have all paid massive fines to the SEC. But in only one of these cases was any firm held criminally responsible. And that firm was Arthur Anderson – Enron’s accountant! What about the bankers who actually lent the firm money against collateral they knew was bogus? What about the investment bankers who sold Enron’s stock to the public, even though it knew the earnings were fraudulent? And what happened to the huge corporations whose depositors, executives, and lawyers were full, active partners in the fraud that bankrupted Enron – namely Citigroup and JPMorgan, the two largest banks on Wall Street?

The Senate subcommittee investigating Enron’s collapse had this to say about Citigroup and JPMorgan: “The evidence… demonstrates that Citigroup and JPMorgan actively aided Enron in executing transactions, despite knowing the transactions utilized deceptive accounting or tax strategies, in return for substantial fees or favorable consideration in other business dealings.”

So what happened? Almost nothing. In August 2003, the banks settled with the SEC for a combined $255 million. They did not admit guilt. Nor did they stop committing fraud.

The very next year, in 2004, Citigroup settled for $2.65 billion (yes, billion) to get out of charges it had defrauded lenders and investors in the collapse of WorldCom.

(Ironically, the plaintiff who brought this case was New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi. Hevesi, like Monica Conyers, is currently in jail, for corruption charges. Yes, really. In April, he was sentenced to up to four years in prison in the Steve Rattner-related bribery case I also mentioned earlier. In America today, even the people who are going after the banks for fraud are themselves corrupt.)

AIG paid $800 million in a settlement in 2006 – just two years before its collapse nearly triggered a global financial catastrophe, requiring a $125 billion federal bailout. Fannie Mae paid $400 million to settle accounting charges in 2006, just two years before its collapse cost taxpayers more than $100 billion. Its CEO, Franklin Raines, walked away with close to $100 million in compensation and was never criminally charged.

Goldman Sachs paid $550 million in 2010 related to fraudulent mortgage securities. Citigroup paid $400 million in 2003 for bogus equity research. Invesco paid $325 million in 2004, after it admitting to ripping off its own mutual-fund investors via a late-trading scheme. Prudential was also “dinged” $270 million in the same scandal.

I could go on… but you surely get the point. Nearly every major financial fiduciary in the United States has been involved in serious malfeasance in the last decade. The sums of these settlements indicate transgressions that should rise to the level of criminal indictments…

The Rigas family, for example, was thrown into prison after defrauding investors in Adelphia Communications. Their settlement with the government was “only” $715 million. Citigroup, on the other hand, has paid settlements close to five times that amount over the last decade… but not a single criminal charge has been filed. Adelphia Cable didn’t owe their subscribers a fiduciary duty. All of the Wall Street firms I mentioned did.

If that’s not corruption, what is? And if all of this doesn’t make you sick, what will?

We’ve written volumes about the other major corporate scandals over the past decade. We broke the executive options abuse story, for example, in 2002, showing how companies like Broadcom, Juniper Networks, and Apple Computer were ripping off shareholders by printing massive amounts of employee stock options (most of which went to executives) and then re-pricing them when their stock prices fell.

Under the system, all of the company’s cash flows (and more) would have to go to share buybacks in order to prevent massive dilution. Thus, the employees were actually stealing the company’s earnings. Most people on Wall Street knew this and were shorting the companies whose abuses were the most egregious. But the scheme wasn’t revealed to the public (outside of our newsletter) until 2006 when the Wall Street Journal finally wrote about the issue.

Steve Jobs, who was one of the most flagrant options abusers at both Apple and Pixar, got off the hook by naming Al Gore to the board of directors… and giving him millions in options grants. To this date, Apple Computer has not paid out a single penny in dividends to its rightful owners (its shareholders). Yet over the last decade, it has increased its outstanding share count via options issuance by 47%.

What can you do about the corruption of America’s public companies? Here’s a very simple solution: Make the board of directors personally liable for fraud, negligence, and depositor losses. If you’re on the board of MF Global, for example, and your firm fails because your CEO bet $6.3 billion in Italian bonds… your depositors – who are still missing more than $1 billion – ought to be allowed to sue you personally. Currently, a combination of legal liability limits and insurance (so-called D&O policies), paid for by the corporation, prevent any real personal liability – even in clear cases of fraud.

Franklin Raines, for example, who had Fannie Mae’s accounting set up to maximize his annual bonuses in violation of accounting standards was fined $2 million in a settlement with regulators. An insurance company paid the fine. The company paid the premiums on that policy.

The concept of the corporate shield for legal liability was created so that limited partners (like common-stock holders) couldn’t be held liable for the damages caused by the general partner’s actions or misdeeds. Over time, that shield has been extended to the general partners of public companies – the board of directors and the executive management team. But these people are paid to run the company. If they engage in fraud or are negligent in their duties, they ought to be held liable.

If you were to simply make that one legal change, the conduct of America’s corporations – especially those with fiduciary responsibilities to depositors – would change overnight. Confidence in America’s public companies and capital markets would soar. But… as long as the idea of entitlement remains ascendant, dictating that executives keep most of the profit but none of the risk… our capital markets will continue to suffer and the management of our public companies will be rife with negligence and fraud.

Is This Fascism?

Earlier this year, in my June issue, I tried to define the unique blend of socialism for the poor, corporate welfare for the rich, paper money for the government, and credit excess for the middle class that has shaped America for most of the last 40 years. I wrote…

You can’t just call our economic system “socialism.” It’s not. There’s a profit motive and private ownership of nearly all assets. Socialism has neither of these. Besides, far too many people have become far too rich in our system to simply label it “socialism”…

Our system isn’t truly capitalism either, though. The State intervenes in almost every industry, often in a big and expensive way. With government at all levels making up more than 40% of GDP, it’s fair to say we live in a State-dominated society…

A certain class of people has the power to not only protect itself from these policies but to profit as well. These people have used the last 40 years to produce massive amounts of paper wealth. And they are now desperately trying to convert those paper accounts into real wealth, which explains the exploding price of farmland and precious metals.

This explosion of wealth at the top of the “food chain” is the main feature of what I call New American Socialism. It’s a system fueled by paper money, the constant expansion of debt, and a kind of corruption that’s hard to police because it occurs within the boundaries of the law…

In the New American Socialism, the power of the system produces private profits. In this way, it provides a huge incentive to entrepreneurs and politicians to work together on behalf of the system. This is what keeps the system going. This is what keeps it from collapsing upon itself. And this, unfortunately, is why the imbalances in the world economy will continue to grow until the entire global monetary system itself implodes.

I continue to believe that’s a very accurate description of what’s happening to our country. But… many subscribers wrote in and complained that what I was calling “New American Socialism” was nothing new at all – it was actually fascism.

Webster’s defines fascism as…

a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

That’s not what’s happening in America – at least, not yet. To this point, there’s little direct forcible suppression of opposition and little exultation of the federal government. And while certain congressional districts have become socially regimented and politically repressive, that’s not a widespread phenomenon.

Many people fear this is where we’re heading… that as conditions deteriorate and the currency collapses, the government will move to take still more power. I don’t think that’s likely – at least, not for long…

I do agree that the nation will soon face a choice between heading down the path towards fascism… or turning back the power of government and restoring the limited Republic that was our birthright. I continue to believe Americans will choose personal liberty.

I believe they will choose more freedom rather than more totalitarian rule. I don’t believe Americans will tolerate martial law for long – even in the advent of a real emergency, which I do believe will occur.

What gives me confidence for the future? Gun sales, for one thing. U.S. citizens legally own around 270 million firearms – about 88 guns per 100 citizens (including children) today.

That’s a hard population to police without its consent. America is the No. 1 country in the world as ranked by the number of guns per-capita. That plays a major factor in the kind of government you will see take root in America. Things might go too far in this country for a while… And I’d argue they’ve been going the wrong way for too long. But the government can only take things so far before they’ll be faced with a very angry, well-armed opposition.

If the government attempts to take our guns… my opinion would change immediately. But that’s one right the Supreme Court has been strengthening recently. It gives me hope that most people in America still understand that the right to bear arms has little to do with protecting ourselves from crime and everything to do with protecting ourselves from government…

Thanks for a Great Year

I hope you’ve enjoyed – or at least been challenged to think in new ways – by this issue of my newsletter. I’ve been thinking about the issues for a long time and believe they are important. Whether you agree with my analysis or not, I hope you’ll share these ideas with people in your circle of influence. Together, we can certainly draw far more attention to the moral failings of our leaders and the risk we face by the growth of the entitlement culture.

Once again… please realize, I’m not taking a political side here. I’m not saying the Democrats are singularly responsible for the state of our country. I’m not saying the Republicans are all to blame. And I’m not saying this is a black problem or a white problem. The problem is rooted in the corrupt belief that you can live at the expense of your neighbor… that we have become a nation where the vast majority of people believe their well-being is primarily, someone else’s responsibility.

This bankrupt belief has taken complete control of our government, educational system, medical industry, and our corporations. And unless we demand better from each other and our political leaders, our society is doomed to collapse under the crushing weight of the Corruption of America.

It’s time we got back to our traditions as Americans and started doing more to take care of our families, communities, and ourselves.

I feel so strongly about these ideas, I’d like you to forward this issue to everyone you know. We almost never allow this copyright violation… But in this case, feel free to forward as many times as you want. Print it up and pass copies around your hometown.

We are wrapping up the best year ever for this advisory in terms of readership. I hope you’ll agree that many of the key themes we’ve been working on have turned out an awful lot like we predicted. The global sovereign debt crisis continues. The stock market has not been a great place for your savings. Many of our short sell recommendations – particularly First Solar (Nasdaq: FSLR) – have led to big profits. For those of you unwilling or unable to speculate and hedge, my advice to hold gold and Treasury bills has produced double-digit gains, with almost no volatility.

For subscribers who are new to this publication, I don’t often focus on this kind of political analysis. I know our main job is to find ways to help you make more money with your investments. But the fact is… right now, politics drives the markets. And that may be true for some time…

Regardless… I pledge to get back to my knitting in the next issue.

Thank you very much for your support. You’ve given me the best job in the world. I take it – and the trust you show in me – seriously.

Warm regards,

P.S. If you are interested in learning more about these ideas—what has gone wrong in America in recent years, and what I believe will happen next—you might enjoy watching a free video I recently produced. In this video, I explain what is probably the biggest corruption in America today, and how it will likely lead to yet another U.S. crisis, affecting everything about your everyday life. I also explain some simple steps you can take today, to protect yourself and your family. You can watch this free video on the Internet, here.
